Actually, such a comparative experiment is meaningless. We should compare prices with the same specifications, or compare specifications with the same prices . Comparing different prices and specifications is meaningless. China also has bolts of various specifications, with different prices and usage scenarios

In fact, many products or product accessories in the United States are imported from China. Just like this small bolt, priced at $0.5, it is less than $0.1 in China. China also has high specification bolts, such as national standard bolts, which are priced five times higher than ordinary bolts and have better quality. Recently, the United States lifted restrictions on DJI drones because they cannot be replaced. American police, firefighters, and ordinary people all use DJI drones. The United States cannot even find substitute products

The author seems to lack basic knowledge about bolts/studs and economics. Each bolt/stud is made to meet specific requirement for different applications and the price is based on manufacture cost and profit. That is why bolts/studs need different specifications. The tests carried out in the video have only shown one of the bolt/stud characters - tensile strength. And only the $0.5 bolt and BMW stud have specification on them, 5.8 and 12.9 respectfully. The 5 means a tensile strength of 500 MPa and 12 stands for 1200 MPa. Lets just forget the .8, .9, and MPa for now. The BMW tensile strength should be 1200/500 =2.4 times of that $0.5 bolt. As shown in the video, the $0.5 bolt needs 3857 kg to break, then the BMW should be able to take 9257 kg instead of 5569 kg. So, it could be that the $0.5 bolt is over spec or the BMW is under spec. However, the story should not stopped here. Since BMW is specifically designed to keep all off you expensive engine parts from flying apart, tensile strength is not the only requirement. The yield strength and thread accuracy are equally important. So, it is possible that the BMW may cost more than $50!

If you buy cheap than don't expect is going to perform the same as a very expensive one. Right, that was the point, value wise the 5 dollar bolt is the best value, but it seriously depends on its use.
The BMW one is kinda funny, but it has the strength as it does for a reason.
My question is what bolts and nuts were used on fair rides? Will the bolt break on my roller coasterl ride when I'm at the top of the ride?

This means nothing as the tensile strength of the bolts and studs are different you showed a 5.8 tensile strength which is mild steel followed by a 12.9 high tensile bolt
