It’s a festival of pride in the communities and in a sense where they showcase themselves. It has been commercialized but talk to the vendors and see the glow in their eyes! They give and are happy to share! So rich a culture!
Loved it!

It's a wholsome state! Right now we're in the country side of Oaxaca and really enjoying it. Thanks for the compliment and thanks for watching 😊
Beautiful. Again thanks for sharing your travels. I spent Christmas 2021 in Oaxaca. There was a festival of the virgin. The patron saint of Oaxaca, La Virgin de la Soledad on 18th of December. It was spectacular. I love love Mexico and most of South America. I tell my friends " There is nothing to see in Europe" The Americas - Mexico, Central America and South America has so much diversity, rich culture and foods that will take your palates to heaven and back.
Okay!!! I heard that time of year here was festive.
Oaxaca: great food and culture within a country that is all about food and culture.🎉🎉🎉
Exactly!
@@TheYarbros Don't forget to try Pulque, which is also derived from agave like Tequila and Mezcal🎉🎉🎉
My mom is from Oaxaca and we actually have a home in Jalatlaco I been there as a child, but now as an adult I went this July to experience the guelaguetza and it was and amazing experience.

La Guelaguetza Festival in Oaxaca, Mexico, is a vibrant and culturally rich celebration that showcases the indigenous heritage and traditions of the region. Held annually in July, the festival brings together different indigenous communities from the surrounding areas to perform colorful dances, display traditional costumes, and share their unique music and gastronomy. The word "Guelaguetza" means "mutual help" or "reciprocal exchange" in the Zapotec language, emphasizing the spirit of unity and solidarity among the diverse groups. This event not only offers a fascinating spectacle for visitors with its captivating performances but also serves as a powerful symbol of the cultural diversity and pride of Oaxacan people, making it a must-see experience for anyone seeking an authentic and immersive encounter with Mexico's indigenous traditions. Thanks, THE YARBROS!
The people is super nice in Mexico. I trip to Querétaro. I’m Mexican too. And the people. Super friendly. They want give everything
We love the people of Mexico too!
I just wanted to tell yall my wife said she is really proud of yall. She said since yall got back to Mexico she loves the confidence in you guys talking with more people. Btw my wife is from Mexico. Keep it up good video.
Hey!!!! Thanks we appreciate that so much! We are taking a different approach to our videos here. More people living and less stats and how-tos.
Another Wonderful festival in beautiful Oaxaca! That first group that you showed performing reminded me of a drill team performing here in the US - just Much more colorful! Loved, loved loved the history lesson , seeing all the different foods and the mezcals! Surprised not to see different moles though. The family vibe was So contagious! 🥰
Loved how open and friendly everyone was. That drill-team comparison is correct. The people dressed in all black were from a Afro-Mexican puebla off of the coast of Oaxaca. We have been trying to catch up with them. No luck so far but we are putting in some work. That is the story we came here for....
Thank you for this wonderful and educational video! I was born in Jalisco Mexico but haven't returned to my birth country in 45 years. Finally, I plan to visit Oaxaca during this festival, July 2024. After watching your video, I feel more comfortable and less nervous about my trip. You guys are a beautiful couple, God bless!
The Yarbros are in my favorite country, y' all.
Que lo paseis bien!
Yea, we're back lol.
Beautifull
Wooo que interesante es que México a todo el mundo atrae, sin duda es un país que lo tiene todo. Gracias family por enseñarnos este bello lugar o ciudad .🤝
Thank you for experiencing it along with us. Yes, a country with everything!
I was there, I had a blast at the Guelaguetza ❤, so much fun and Mezcal 🥴🥴🥴🥴 🤣😂🤣😂
It was incredible! 😂😂 celebrations and mezcal make for a good time!
Woww
It's amazing how a village can be so diverse.
We agree!
Oaxaca is a state located in southern Mexico. The capitol is Oaxaca City. Oaxaca is NOT a village!
It is a World Heritage to UNESCO.
One of the cutest couples on RUclips. Thank you for all of your informative videos.
Glad you like them!
I really dig y'all channel man. Y'all really give a history lesson everywhere you go. ✊🏾

I absolutely enjoyed all of the free events a few years ago. Amazing festival!
Its just a really good wholsome time!
Apryl - you look so pretty in that dress! 💙 Oaxaca is on my list for sure. The cultural festivals are wonderful - so authentic. The food there is amazing too! It would be hard to leave I think. 🍊🍋🥑🥭🌶️🫔🌯🌮🫕 😋 Thanks for bringing us along to join your time in Oaxaca region. Enjoy! 💞
👍👍👍Oaxaca has it all: awesome indigenous cultures, best food in Mexico, best mezcal in Mexico, best variety of affordable beautiful handicrafts, awesome climate, somewhat affordable housing. If you can deal w/the bus/truck emissions, bad water & protests,,,it's a fantastic place to live. I couldn't: thus, short visits for me at this point, but I DO love it dearly.
It’s great for lots of reasons. I understand what you mean about the emissions. Did you get a chance to experience Guelaguetza here?
Yes, I lived there full time for nearly a year, have had 2 apts (2015-2016, 2018-2019) & a several other visits since 1978. I wandered into Gueleguetza one year, and never again...😆too crowded and too hot for me, but I Did enjoy the mezcal and handicrafts. I would not do the stadium, not a fan of huge crowds. Oh, and sponsored two poetry conferences w/free public readings at MACO & IAGO there (2014, 2016), and another MACO reading in 2019. Oaxaca'd out at the mo😆
@@Sheila-sx2sqmaybe you should go to a desert island... it seems that goes more with your personality, just sayin'🤷♂️
@@Cabroninfeliz maybe you should not take everything so personally...I suggest you read the book The Four Agreements, ancient Toltec wisdom, by Don Miguel Ruiz.
I feel that they failed to say you what is the real spirit of Guelaguetza. Guelaguetza is a Zapotec word that means “to share or to offer”. In the towns of Oaxaca, when you have a celebration, all people comes to the party with food, money, a cow, a chicken or something to help you with the expenses, they say: “te traigo mi Guelaguetza” it is the same when you have lost a relative, they come to help you with the work or the expenses of the event. They also come with their solidarity, they offer you their love. It is also Guelaguetza. The celebration of the “Guelaguetza del lunes del cerro” was born after a very powerful eartkquake destroyed Oaxaca City to give some happines to people that has lost all their properties, people of all other towns of the state came with food, with material help, but also came wih their traditions, music an dances. This the origen of the modern Guelaguetza that is presented each year. But it has a very long tradition before that.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing about this beautiful festival!

Cuauhtemoc’s Last Speech;
Our Sun has gone down
Our Sun has been lost from view
and has left us
in complete darkness
But we know it will return again
that it will rise again
to light us anew
But while it is there in
the Palace of Silence
Let’s join together, let’s embrace each other
and in the very center of our being hide
all that our hearts love
and we know is the Great Treasure.
Let us hide our Temples
our schools, our sacred ball game
our youth centers
our houses of flowery song
so that only our streets remain.
Our homes will enclose us
until our New Sun rises.
Most honorable fathers
and most honorable mothers,
may you never forget to guide your young ones
teach your children, while you live
how good it has been and will be.
Until now our beloved Anahuac
sheltered and protected our destinies
that our ancestors
and our parents enthusiastically received
and seeded in our being.
Now we will instruct our children
how to be good
They will raise themselves up and gain strength
and as goodness make real their great destiny
in this, our beloved mother Anahuac..
Thank you
♥️♥️
😄
Hey love you're content super unique. Question do you think a couple could live comfortably on 2k a month living in majority of the cities you have visited in the Americas excluding the US?
You could survive. Living comfortably would depend on your level of comfort.
@@TheYarbros got you, thanks
Suggestions for your amazing channel:
Subtitles in Spanish
I watch all your commercials regardless of length but most RUclips viewers only watch the short versions and more frequently
Talk of cost of items you purchase such as food in pesos then state the US 💵 dollar for comparison
More festivals, ferias, carnaval such mazatlan, ensenada, Veracruz, Oaxaca , fiestas de octubre Guadalajara , desfile día de los muertos México city, feria San Marcos…❤
Thank you.
Bienvenidos a la hermana república de Oaxaca 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Gracias!
How you been to go en Ensenada Baja California Mexico
Yes, we've been up and down that coast.
ok so i have to ask you. what are ur top 3 countries out of all the places you traveled so far u would live considering only food, culture, safety?
OK I'm sold, I just got back from a 9 city and town tour of central Mexico and heading back first week of December. From TJ to Veracruz for XMas. Then points beyond. As I was traveling in central Mexico I would hear that Oaxaca should be on my list... well, know it is. FYI Pulque is the drink of the Gods, just sayen. Pulque is, it's not so easy to find, first time in Zacatecas, then in San Miguel de Allende. The % of acl. is around 3% very refreshing with a stile honey flavor. The juse is sucked out of the Maguey cactus while it's still in the ground, then the cactus is harvested for Mezcal. I choose Mezcal over Tequila every time, it's the smoky flavor. Every Tequila is Mezcal, not every Mezcal is Tequila...
Thanks for the clarification on pulque! But yes to visiting Oaxaca. Gotta check this city out!
What inspired you guy’s to become RUclipsrs and travel like the way you have been?
We loved traveling more than we liked our jobs so we decided to make it a career.
tribes ??😳😳
Hermoso video muy interesante
Gracias!
tribes? really?
Yes, really.
¿No son lo suficientemente civilizados para ustedes los negros?
@@TheYarbros Africa is the land of tribes darling, Mesoamerica was a civilization.
@@maltratar Not sure what type of shade you are trying to throw on Africa....the birthplace of civilization or what you think a tribe is but Aztec, Zapotecs, Maya, Olmec, Nahuas, Mixtec are all tribes, darling.
@@TheYarbros indigenous people are the original americans, the owners of their own civilization, stop call them "tribes", they are not.
