That last dish looked insane! So big and full of so many ingredients. I definitely want to try that when i visit Mexico! And Steph, you handled grasshoppers like a champ! Good job, there were so many to eat! I don't know if i would like them but I'll give them a try for sure! Nice video again!
There was definitely a lot of grasshopper in this video, but you'd be surprised how tasty they are, for sure worth a try. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting !
If you will try someday, do it with open mind. It's a gusto adquirido, something that gets better through time. Be sure of eating bread instantly so you can taste it crunchy.
Oh.. Wow...because of you now I also wanna travel all around the world and try different food items... 🎉😊Thanks for the video very much.... Pls, bring more videos
Wow, Mexican cuisine truly is so varied. Oaxacan food looks like plenty of mole, much less salsa, and still enormous quantities of cheese 🤤 loving the videos as always. Safe travels Steph and Chris!!
Amazing video, guys!! That Mole looks insane not to mention the bone marrow taco. Kudos to Steph for eating that massive grassopper tostada. You nailed it! It will take me a while to get used to that 😄 But you saved the best for the last. That massive Tlayudas bbq was our favourite!! Thanks a lot for sharing!!
The mole truly is something else, we've been loving it, as well as all the grasshoppers!! They are so crunchy and delicious, we have a feeling you would both love them and be piling your tostadas with them in no time 😉 thanks for the support and for watching guys 💪🧡

i retired to oaxaca in 2015 from Oregon. this video catchs some of the culinaey treats, but these are not street foods. they are in sit downvrestaurants. further, unless you are familiar with a restaurant, we always test the salsa for heat before adding it.
Really enjoyed watching the video, guys! Its hard to equate the pork with the chocolate mole sauce, they do not seem to go together! Your videos have really illustrated the versatility and variety of the Mexican food. Not sure if I could do the grasshoppers 🙄???? I could certainly do the tasty, fruity drinks. Cheers🍻!
You would love those! The mole with pork is unique but a very good combo, it's savoury and spicy, so not sweet or anything like that, we think you'd enjoy it 😉 as for the grasshoppers, we'll convert you at some point😜 thanks for watching and always commenting 🧡
Thanks for watching and following along! Mexico is safe for tourists, in all the time we've spent here we've never felt unsafe at all. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. As with any travel destination, you've got to be aware of your surroundings, but no different than anywhere else we've travelled to before. We would recommend it as a travel destination for sure!
This is a Restaurant food, to correct someone saying street food. But, you can find this food any where in Oaxaca. I used to lived there, and the food was always great.
Nice video BUT… allow me to correct you, THE CORRECT NAME FOR A SINGLE PIECE IS TAMAL NOT TAMALE & for more than 2 (plural) TAMALES yea pronounce the S. Please don’t kill my language! 😀😅😂👍 enjoy
You REALLY need to learn how to pronounce tlayuda! It is not "Tilly-uda". It is "tlay (rhymes with "fly" kind of) yuda" - pretty much like the Spanish word "ayuda". But thanks for the images of Oaxacan food - I was last there about 40 years ago. I made some Oxacan-style tostados for my dinner here in the Philippines tonight, and was curious how they made the huge tlayudas. When I was there 40 years ago, "tlayuda" referred to the very large tortillas. When cooked like in the video it was called a "tostado tlayuda", although many did just say tlayuda for short. But now it seems the word has come to mean the dish, not just the tortilla. Interesting how language evolves.
I really liked your video. You got right into the traditional Oaxacan Food, which is what I want to experience, BUT PLEASE, learn some Spanish or ask the locals. I am 100% certain none of the food you pronounced is pronounced that way. Indigeious words are not pronouced that way!
Thanks a lot for watching! If you notice, we always learn what we can to communicate with the locals, as well as learning the proper pronunciation in their language, from them :)
Hey everyone!
Which food did you like the best?
Thanks for watching! 😊🧡
I would say the tlayuda is the one for me. 😋

Oaxaca has incredible food, agreed 😋
That’s some good eating
Had the same Tamale with the banana leaf wrap. Only regret just eating one. Going back in July.
Yes! The tamale with banana leaf is so tasty, we loved it. Get an extra one for us when you go back! 😋
The funniest part was when he gave the thumbs up and complimented the guy and he was sitting right next to him 😂 It reminds me of The Food Ranger

😊
Wow that vinegar bread dish is interesting! I’m not sure I would like that.
It was very unique, such a strong flavour, super intense! Quite an acquired taste.
By the way Tlayuda is the technique to make the tortilla hard & long lasting for a day of work
Oh very cool!
ı love bone . Bones are healthy and too tasty. I am gonna going to Oaxaca. I wanna go there.
Yes so tasty 😋

Such good food in the city. Thanks for watching!
12:20 estás en Oaxaca, mija, es hierbasanta
They are one and the same 😉
Why are the refried beans in the can so thick but the fresh ones in Mexico are so thin? They look so much better.
Good question, they're definitely different agreed
31:16 My friend, you tried the tourist tlayuda, they are made to amaze tourist eyes but lacks of flavor
Have you tried these from this shop?
What a unique name.
How is it pronounced?
It sounds almost regal.
Which name are you referring to?
TLAYUDA INN OAXACA MEXICO
😊😊😊
Subtitulado spanish please
There are Spanish subtitles on all of our videos 😉
If singular, it is TAMAL (without the “e”), if plural is TAMALES. Please don’t mispronounce it, don’t spread misinformation. Thank you.
👍
It's OK, they are not from there and they are loving the culture and being super respectful (unlike you). Chill 🤙(Yo soy de Guadalajara)
oops tlayudas

Honestamente no me gusta ese tamal oaxaqueño, tal vez mi paladar esta muy acostumbrado a los tamales Tehuacaneros..
It's definitely different
Don't say tamale, singular is tamal
🙃
