Thank you so much Oaxaca has so many good food options we’re sure that you’ll be stoked no matter where you end up! Having an amazing trip we’re jealous already!
What I like about your videos is that it's all about food. I just started watching since you guys started doing videos of my beloved Mexico. You guys do amazing work!
Thank you so much! We are sad that our Mexico series is over but we have some amazing food tours coming up in Japan after a quick stop in New York City
I’m currently in Oaxaca day 4-5. This place is much better than I thought. It lacks the big famous sites that you would find in say Mexico City or the Yucatán with its many pyramids and cenotes but wow…food paradise, lots of nice bars, and beautiful center. The Oaxacan food is great but this place also has lots of really good international food. Had amazing food the Benedict, one of the best ramens, and some great pasta!
Great!! Sometimes we get some comments about how we eat “non-traditional” food when we visit places but we love seeing how locals adapt foreign flavors! We had a great Indian spot in Oaxaca we didn’t film Sr Naan if you get a chance to stop by, they make extra spicy chicken tikka we absolutely loved! Have a great rest of your trip, thanks for watching!
Spanish is my second language and I speak better than Brandon but my voice also also changes. I think Spanish is naturally higher pitch than English because my Spanish is higher pitch than my English like Brandon’s
7:18 I’m a light skin with some brown Mexican American. I’ve been to maybe 15 Mexican cities and towns. I’ve been in Oaxaca 4-5 days and have been called güero more times in this trip than in 40 days I’ve spent in other parts of Mexico the last 5 years!
Im from Salina Cruz, Oaxaca and my best food is the Tlayudas. They are so good the quesillo, refried beans and the pork asiento makes me feel in heaven every time i take a bite.
Totally agree! When we had the Tlayuda Alyssa was editing at the hotel. I was so excited to get one to go to bring her. The tias at that shop were so nice and fun too!🇲🇽❤️
Woohoo! We're living in Oaxaca about 15 min. outside of the Oaxaca City and can't wait to rent a place for a bit in the city to explore. Currently we have our RV in Santa Maria del Tule which is a nice little quiet landing spot and it has its own nice places to eat.
Wow amazing! We have an RV that’s collecting dust because fuel is so expensive! What an incredible adventure. Where are you from and how has your experience been RV’ing Mexico!?
12:12 those weddings are not traditional, they're prepared by proffessional planners who invent their own show. If you wanna see a traditional one you should go to a pueblo near around
Thank you so much! What a trip it was eating in that Smokey alley. Oaxaca had some really high quality food and was just a rad place to visit! Thanks again for the come t!💯🤙
2:48 that’s not an alambre. Looks like an omelette with a side of chilaquiles. Tasajo is beef. Cecina is the pork counterpart and is typically enchilado. Nice video 😊
Ahhh! Dang! Usually our Spanish is pretty decent but we blew it on this one! We realized we messed the Tasajo up when we were editing but hoped nobody would notice😂. Thank you for taking the time to watch her video and read us this comment!
So sorry we just got this comment as we have been traveling and are a little behind. In Oaxaca the water situation in the tourist district is not affected. Mexico City is getting the worst of it right now☹️
Haha we were just about to add the link. Buuuuut… we haven’t had Colima or Morelia on our list yet!! We will add those. We are going to do a couple TJ videos and north Baja this summer so stay tuned! Until then we have a bunch of Japan videos coming! But low key liked the food in Mexico more!
Thank you so much there’s so much incredible food in Oaxaca. It’s crazy. We even ate a bunch of delicious stuff that we just couldn’t fit into this video! Thanks 1 million for watching a commenting. Sorry if your keyboard is permanently damaged😂
I have been corrected by locals a number of times.... That "Oaxaca Queso" that is like a ball of string cheese is called "Quesillo" here.... The most commonly found cheeses at little mercados are the quesillo and also queso fresco (which is a cheese you can crumble on ensaladas and tacos).
Dang ! Im Mexican but some of those foods yall tried are very strange to me , seems like the food Is original to the natives from that región (Mayans etc.) Ive tried "Insects" here in Tijuana mex. but dont care for em much , im into eating meat and seafood. 🙋
We totally agree! We grew up in San Diego and travel all over Mexico but the food is Oaxaca is really different. We are planning to do a TJ taco tour video this summer! Let us know if you have any favorite spots!
@@HeresGoodTravel haha sorry I’m confused?? Quesadillas? Oaxaca cheese? So every state has a different way of making their quesadillas and different kind of cheese it’s usually a cheese that melts in order to make quesadilla, traditionally In the state of Oaxaca they use “QUESILLO “ as their primary melting cheese!! And I think a lot of people just call it Oaxaca cheese because that’s how they connect that kind of string cheese to that state! Sorry I hope this makes sense to you. I think 99% of the world call it Oaxaca cheese, except actual people for Oaxaca that they know it’s called QUESILLO 😂 sorry I didn’t try to make this so complicated or try to make you guys think you were doing something wrong you’re totally not love your videos keep exploring Mexico and keep speaking Spanish. You guys are doing awesome.!!
Really? We noticed most of the Tlayudas had large slices of meat in a so Liar style. The flavor was really nice though. Is there a spot you could recommend we try next time? Thanks!
The cheese is “ QUESILLO “ A lot of people call it queso Oaxaca 🤷🏻♀️just because it’s from Oaxaca but there’s different cheeses so they’re not all called quedo Oaxaca, tasajo is beef 😊 I love Oaxaca!
Amazing! Thank you for this helpful post! What are some other oaxacan style cheese we could try the next time we visit. Where we live in San Diego the stores will sell quesillo and we think it says “queso oaxacena”. We will look the next time we visit our Mexican Market we will see and report back! Thanks again

@HeresGoodTravel ... LIKE #55🎉!... I'VE GOT A QUESTION FOR YOU GUYS: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MEXICAN FOOD SO FAR🤔🤫🫣?😮😅😂😊 SALUDITOS CORDIALES NUEVAMENTE DESDE ZUMPANGO ESTADO DE MÉXICO 🇲🇽 ❤ USA 🇺🇸 🤪😝😜😛🤩😘🥰😍🫠🙃🙂😅😂🤣😉🤗🤭 BY THE WAY, LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING: THE "TASAJO" MEAT IS NOT PORK 😅😂, IT'S A THIN BEEF STAKE! THE "CECINA" IS THE ONE MARINATED (RED) AND IT'S PORK😢😮 😅😂 LOVE YOU CHICOS ❤
Ahhhh thank you so much! CECINA Is pork! Thanks for clarifying. We learned so many new words I think we mixed em up! Honestly we just love Suadero, cabeza and pastor tacos with a really spicy salsa from a taco stand probably in between beers in Mexico City. But we love it all and still have so much more delicious Mexican food to eat!
The meat alley in Oaxaca is the biggest tourist trap. The meat they sell in all the stalls are the cheapest meats (tasajo is the meat that the ranchers didn’t sell and use to give to their workers, and the chorizo in Oaxaca is not that great at all). but they sell them to you at premium prices. In general Oaxaca is a tourist trap, the only cool parts are Xochimilco and Santo Domingo… other that that the city is very dirty.
Honestly we probably would not return to the meat alley! We loved the Tlayudas at other stalls and had some really nice sit down meals but we did miss our street taco carts with very spicy salsa!
¡Qué bueno ese nopal! nunca lo habíamos servido así, estaba delicioso para darle un mordisco entre platos principales. ¡Escuchamos que también es saludable!
9:04 yeah, that happened to me too! The weather app is not reliable in Oaxaca. Two days ago it rained and the app was showing no rain!
Double comment! We love to see it!
Funny the rain happens in the summer too- when we filmed this it was November, unreliable weather year round!
Woohoo! New video :) Keep up the great content. You guys are great.
Thank you thank you thank you!!! Mexico series is over but we have so much delicious food to share from New York, Japan and Korea!
Going in a couple days! Awesome video guys thanks!🙏

Thanks for the nice comment!
Love you guys I love when she says tortilla, patio and pastor (in previous videos) 😊
😂thanks so much! We get a lot of comments on how bad our Spanish is😂 We will keep trying

I love how Brandon’s voice changes when he speaks Spanish 😂
Hahah “speaks Spanish”. We call it saying Spanish words in a random order haha
Spanish is my second language and I speak better than Brandon but my voice also also changes. I think Spanish is naturally higher pitch than English because my Spanish is higher pitch than my English like Brandon’s

😂hahaha that’s too funny! That’s one of our favorite parts about visiting Mexico. We wear Guerro like a badge of pride!💯🤟🇲🇽❤️
GREAT videos guys thanks for sharing... now I'm hungry.👍👍
Haha amazing! Our goal is to make people hungry! Lol thanks a million for watching we have so much more delicious food to share!

So sorry we just got this comment as we have been traveling and are a little behind. In Oaxaca the water situation in the tourist district is not affected. Mexico City is getting the worst of it right now☹️
Fucking great! Gotta visit, Colima, San Miguel, and Morelia next!!!!!! You would love it no doubt! Swear y’all more Mexican than me jeezus
……..just saw the San Miguel video😂😭
Haha we were just about to add the link. Buuuuut… we haven’t had Colima or Morelia on our list yet!! We will add those. We are going to do a couple TJ videos and north Baja this summer so stay tuned! Until then we have a bunch of Japan videos coming! But low key liked the food in Mexico more!
im literally drooling all over my key board

great video
Thanks so much! We found some legit gems in Oaxaca and had such a great time. Thanks for watching!
Do they let you take home leftovers?
We didn’t have any😬haha. I bet they would just wrap it in the paper and seal it up for you no problem. It’s tough and expensive to get a seat in there

lol we got a lot of comments about this. It’s funny because back home (San Diego). Pretty much any stringy Mexican cheese we just call queso Oaxaca😂
Mexicans sure know how to hold a wedding!
😂that was UNREAL! Such a fun party.
Dang ! Im Mexican but some of those foods yall tried are very strange to me , seems like the food Is original to the natives from that región (Mayans etc.) Ive tried

Hello! That fattiness from the black bean pure is likely due to probably being made with pork lard.
They have a layer of a siento de puerco, which is the lard from the carnitas(pork meat) and it has quesillo, cabbage
Amazing! We are here for it! MUY deliciousa!
Ahh is there such a thing as Oaxaca cheese or is quesadilla just cheese from Oaxaca?
@@HeresGoodTravel haha sorry I’m confused?? Quesadillas? Oaxaca cheese? 10:37 that is not a good tlayuda, the meat must be cut in bits and put in the tlayuda. At least it is not the turistic version which is worse
Really? We noticed most of the Tlayudas had large slices of meat in a so

Raw meat 🍖.. yuckers.. always avoid those traps ..
The meat, you have to cook it your selves
Oh no! We don’t know!
Veo puro nopal en la frente escribiendo en inglés 😂😂😂
