Chatterbox 9 - Good Tools, Bad Tools and Customer Service

- Chatterbox is a new format for me in which I do just that - chat! There will be mini reviews and things of use, comment on new stuff, and probably old, reactions to comments on the videos etc etc.
This one has some nifty masks recommended by a viewer, a bad pair of nippers, a surprise package or two and both types of customer service!

as others have mentioned, god hand has great nippers. one thing i particularly like about them that sounds relevant to your recent discovery. they have a set screw that will limit the travel of the jaws, and its adjustable so you can ensure the jaws don't come together closer than you wish.
The other way to make circular masks with your favourite masking tape would be to get one of these
DSPIAE MT-C 2.0 Stepless Adjustment Circular Cutter (1mm - 50mm)
The Infini range of sanders are bl#ody excellent
Godhand nippers expensive but the best l have ever used
I bought a pair of GodHand clippers from E Models at Telford. So far very good but expensive.
I’ve found the circle templates really useful for wheel hubs etc. Like you I went for the full range and there are loads of them. I recently bought the Godhand nippers from PM models and they have been great.
Thanks for this ordered the same packs as yourself.
Congratulations Jen! "Sniffly-nosed workbench musings"?, "waffley nonsense"? Far from it Jen!
I for one am a student of your techniques and practices because they yield such great finished work! Congratulations again, and it makes me feel good to know I am one of those that view both channels regularly. Take care, be safe & happy modelling, Jim 👍🙂
Congratulations
Very pleased to see you got the circle masks Jen, so useful and the Infini sanders are in my humble opinion, the very best. Well deserved view count, congratulations!
Those precut masks are nice. I have a circle cutter, but those are so much easier. And if you only need a couple, they're just easier than breaking out the circle cutter. Those sanding sticks are really nice also. I like the ones I have.
Love the look of those sanding sticks - might have to order some of them.
Hi Jen, haha, yes just watched this video during my lunch break; will mail you my address again. Mark
Got it!
Congratulations on 500,000 views. Love the chatterbox session today. I've brought the smaller sanding sticks and they're excellent. I'm going to investigate those masks.
Thanks gen for the extra kits and keep up with the modelling dad and I would like to see the super marine walrus😊
Congratulations Jenn 👏🏻👏🏻🥳
Congratulations on the views! I've used the Infini sanding sticks for a few years now and love them. I haven't seen those circle masks before, I'll have to pick some of those up.
Infini are excellent, plus very durable, you will not regret this purchase!
Great video, thank you. Slightly concerned for the Tamiya nippers I bought a week ago!
The premium hobbies listed 3 x scribers are brilliant.
Congrats! Must check out that tool supplier
I like your Chatterbox series. I just got a pair of the Dspiae nippers in the post today. Much nicer than the ones I was using; Don't recall the brand or where I purchased them. Peace and love.
I didn't know you could get these circle masks, they might come in useful in the future. Also I used to rely heavily on Flory sanders, so I might have to try the infini ones as a replacement.
“Good tools, bad tools, you know I’ve had my share. But when Hobby Co refuse to answer your emails you know they just don’t caaaarrreeee” Ba-ba-ba-bah-ba-ba-ba-da-dum. I’ll get me coat.😅😇😂
Those look like the very masks and the very shop I recommended to you several months ago to which you replied "thanks for the heads up". I guess Wordenb is better looking than me (wouldn't be difficult). 😃
Oops, I don't remember. Sorry John *hangs head in shame*
After your masking with BMF tutorial, all is forgiven 🤣@@JenesisDesignsandModelcraft
My Tamiya nippers have done exactly the same only 3 months old now gone back to my old £3.99 nippers over 5 years old
I'm not glad yours are broken, but I'm glad it isn't just me in a way. I'll try again with The Hobby Co, and see if I have any joy
Great content. Liked the idea of the circular mask set and Infini sponge sanders, went straight on the site but were out of stock 😢
I've just looked and they seem to have sanding sticks, although the small circle masks are showing out of stock now

Mi mi mi chatterbox😂😂
Great video congratulations on the views have you ever use gladhand dippers
Gladhand, I like that. I haven't as yet, but I think I might get some to try
I've noticed that the pointy 74123 nipper from Tamiya doesn't have a very long life too. (It's my second one already...) The blades/jaws overlap slightly when they close, that's why I avoid cutting thick plastic. For that I use my 74001 nipper also from Tamiya which, although doesn't cut as cleanly as the pointy one, is sturdier and should last forever... I also bought the single blade one from DSPIAE, but I don't use it. It requires a different technique and I simply don't like it.
(I am still waiting for my 1:48th Buccaneer, apparently the RAF variant is not easy to get. Hopefully it won't be a bendy one...)
Fingers crossed!
What happened to Flory sanding sticks? Why can you no longer get them?
They aren't available any more, I don't know why. I have enough skinny sanders to last a while, but my sponges are all used up
@@JenesisDesignsandModelcraft wow. That's his main product. Why would he give that up? It's not like sanding sticks are unsourcable. Enjoying your channel now I've found it.
They were too expensive to make iirc.
He still supplies washes and pigments 👍
