  • In this 4th episode of Deraps' Guitars, we're checking out my current main guitar, the Ernie Ball Music Man Axis. This is the guitar that was used on all of our upcoming debut album as well as all of my shows. It has seen sweat, blood, pouring rain, and much more...

    You sir are a madman of a guitarist. I have my personal favorites all of whom start at #2 because you have easily taken the #1 spot. I tried for 35 years to learn the instrument and finally gave up a couple years ago because I'm nearing 50 now and it's just never going to happen. Watching you play gives me all the satisfaction of having played it myself. Thank you for all the years you have dedicated to the guitar and for sharing it with us.

    Jacob!!! 😲 Wow. I swear to God !!!! Those blues licks are insane!!! And reminded me of a blues show where Ed came up and played. Your, sick blues licks, sound like Eds, blues licks, when he was jamming on stage with a famous blues band. 😮

    Awesome guitar. I have the exact same one, same color, and it's my number one. It's a 2007, I've had it since new. Mine's been through hell and back too. These are true workhorses and keep coming back for more.

    This kid is pure FIRE!!!🔥🔥🔥 As a older Player from the late 70's Jacob is the best i have seen/heard
    in a long time! He has that fiery young EVH in him! Love the way he incorporates swing and shuffle/boogie
    rhythm's in his lead work! not to mention he proves you don't need effects and high gain to play great!🤘

    Music Man has a DEATH hold on those pickups. And, rightfully so, given they’re one of the best pickups I’ve ever heard. Today’s EVH’s don’t sound this good…they’re too hot. Music Man make some of the best guitars on the planet. That said, there shouldn’t be NO guitars in this price-range with nickel frets. There’s a few high-end companies pulling that sh!t (Friedman being one of them). But, I digress….killer playing, bud.

    Can anyone tell me the differences in body size between the EVH Wolfgang/ Musicman body’s? I tried out a Wolfgang and although it played fantastic the body seemed like a baby guitar. It was so small. Is there a bigger body? American? Maybe it’s just the Wolfgang Special and Standard. This one being demoed doesn’t look so small.

    Hey Jake, you never answered my first message to you from a few weeks ago! But since sending that message, i have discovered that you are in canada and have your own band and a lot of other things going on musically! BUT YOU STILL COULD HAVE GOT BACK TO ME AND TOLD ME YOURSELF! ABOUT THIS VIDEO, YOU LEFT OUT THE NECK SPECS! THE SCALE LENGTH? THE PROFILE SHAPE? THE RADIUS? THE NUT WIDTH? ( very important features )

    • @JacobDeraps
      @JacobDeraps  2 года назад +2

      I can't keep up with all the private messages. For this guitar, the neck radius is 10", scale length is 25 1/2" and nut width is 41.3mm.

      @@JacobDeraps : / Thank you for getting back to me this time. BUT Im sure you could have done the same last time, and especially because i was asking you to possibly play guitar on a few recordings for me for my albums. But that was before i found out you have your own band and are busy with that and doing performances of your own as well. You didnt mention the profile on this guitar? C? D? Wizard? soft V? Asymmetrical? Boatneck? Other? And i think the radius is 12", unless if this is not the EVH model? Maybe Ernie Ball changed the radius just to make some slight changes to this guitar? But Eddie always played 12" radius fretboards, and an Asymmetrical profile ( which he also made himself ) You play very well, very passionately, All the best to you!

    I played one of these today. The Floyd Rose takes some strength to push down. Is that normal for these guitars? The Fender Strats and Ibanez whammy bars are so easy to use, but this guitar took some muscle using that whammy bar lol

    • @JacobDeraps
      @JacobDeraps  2 года назад

      Yes, it's normal. The Fender Strats and Ibanez have floating bridges, the bar goes up or down. This guitar has the bridge sitting against the body so it takes a bit more spring tension to hold it down.

    • @nutprick
      @nutprick 2 года назад

      Adjusts the truss rod. Is this a serious question?

    • @JacobDeraps
      @JacobDeraps  2 года назад

      Adjust the truss rod. So the truss rod is a metal rod going through the entire neck, which adjust the curve of the neck and you want to have it as flat as possible without the strings buzzing. Every guitar have a truss rod but the adjustment screw has various placements, for exemple, a bullet truss rod or a wheel is very convenient and accessible.
