Got one of these in Tobacco Burst a few months ago. Best guitar I've ever played, absolutely in love and can't put it down! Great playing as always man, killer
Really incredible playing as always. Your touch is phenomenal and you always get such rich and diverse tones. Love seeing videos like this that let you showcase your range!
Jacob's range as a guitar player is completely limitless !!! There isn't one, single piece of music, thats ever been written or played that he can't play absolutely perfectly in all instances. I absolutely love you, like a brother, my friend. I don't believe that I will ever get enough of Jacobs guitar playing. There is straight up, nothing better, than these Les Paul Demo video's. Jacob's playing can immediately inspire me to sit down and learn every single thing Jacob shares with us. Jacob nailed every single iconic sound, and tone we are all accustomed too, when listening to Gibson guitar players over the years. Jacob makes it crystal clear, that there really isn't anything that he can't play like an expert musican!!! The Master already!!! God, he is going to write and play some kick ass music over the next several years. Buckle up, bro. It's about to get real up in here !!!! Ooh 😮, 🤯 Hell Yah !!!!!🔥🤩😉
Now that would be a completely Epic tour that people would be unable to stop talking about those show's!!! Man, my fingers have been crossed for a very long time considering how incredibly successful a Tour that would become if you guys ever got together to make that happen. I actually beileve that as soon as you guys play your first large shows, Wolfie will hear all about you at some point and get in touch with you to actually do just that. Wolfie would be incredibly impressed, if he ever sat down and listened to some of your many incredible videos. So, Yah, I'm calling it Now Jacob, ok. That tour, and those shows are going to happen for real !!!! Ooh, Hell Yah !!!🤯🔥🪨🌟❤️🙏
Congratulations brother! There's just nothing like a Les Paul. It took me many years to get my first one (mostly because I was waiting for Gibson to get their act together!). I'm on the short side, and don't have large hands, so the 60s was the first one I bought in 2019 for its slimmer neck. Funny thing is that I also got a Les Paul Special which has a pretty beefy neck and I'm totally good with it. Something about the carve. Absolutely killer guitar!
Sweet Gibson Jacob, Love Gibson's but the Explorers are my Favorite, Always Have Trouble getting the Feel-good position with LP's But the Sound is Undeniable Both Are 4 Sure A Great Axe!! Congratulations Jacob, Kool to Hear U Play Southern Rock From Tennessee & Muscle Shoals Alabama Area and Nashville Seen, Keep On Doing What You Love & Thanks 4 Keeping Us Old Guy's Music Alive!!
The way you play, you deserve one of those! I have an Epi 59 LP with Burstbuckers from the factory that gets the job done for now but maybe one day I’ll try to grab a Gibson 50s LP myself.
Wow. I literally stole all of those licks Jacob, and I did iin broad daylight bro. Those were some very cool, very original, Blues shapes that I've never heard or seen played before. At least, never played like the way your playing them on this clip. Those were some amazing sounding shapes. Im in absolute heaven ever since you announced all of these amazing opportunities that are now falling into your lap, my man. I guess I've been Absolutely in Heaven ever since you posted your Gibson unboxing recently, and that Demo overall was by far the most impressive guitar work on a Les Paul ive eve r heard, 100%, hands down. As if you had been playing that guitar for years and years. Man, your right arm and picking hand, is an absolute massive Beast!! Than can not be killed or compromised. Absolutely dissecting every tiny nuance over and over and over again. Cause, well, it's litterally right there clear as day. My overall guitar playing ability has begun to come together in a way I use to only Dream of !!! As I began to jam with your Les Paul video's I was totally surprised just how much of it I can actually play if I take my time going thru all if it very slow and very steady. I mean, everything ,with a fine toothed comb. These are some of the most valuable free lesson videos if ever seen or heard either !!! Absolutely Epic Jacob!!!!! I'm in a slight trance brother. Mind-blowing tone and sound combinations coming out of your Les Paul. Literally jaw dropping bro !!!! My goodness. 🔥🤩❤️🙏🪨🔥🤯🌟🤫
So freakin heaven though. A wide strap and no overboard craziness but way more dirt due to the thickness and weight. But Gibson. I am a fan of SGs and Les Pauls.
Just found you. I was looking at Germino amps.. Very cool man.. Great Les Paul.. I'm building a strat now with a warmoth neck with 6100 stainless frets.. EMG SA's, etc.. Very cool.. Love all the same guys you mentioned, and especially RR. Rip Randy!

I have a 2013 Standard. It has body chambering, printed circuit board, coil taps on the volume knobs, out of phase pot on a tone knob and a tone bypass on the other. Everything was plugged into the damn board...so what to do if you want to change pickups? You had to stick to Gibsons pickups with those plugs for the board or hand wire the plugs onto the wires to adapt to the board if you changed brands to Seymours! This all translates to Gibsons Modern Series today. Too complicated! Simple solution...rip it all out and put the same hard wires with bumblebee capacitors as they do with the new 50s and 60s LPs like you have. I also changed to Seymour JB for bridge and 59 for neck and its the best LP I have.
Hey jacob D First Q here among a few Lp related and plexi questions for you - but first glad to see you rocking them! I was wondering when that would happen since I only picture you with superstrats but when youre rocking out anything VH or other with that big ass LP I can just tell this brings the Slash, Page Rhandy and maybe Michael schenker out of your playing mate! 🤟😉 SO, big Q this must be some kind of modded plexi how are you getting it like that at room volumes ?? I've played a rack fulllll at different music stores here in canada trying the les paul standard 50s but they rocked for sure but more so 70s rock they couldn't do hard rock or 80s stuff as well without squeeling due to having very vintage inspired 61 burstbuckers A2 mag unpotted pickups as gibson states when they made them and that's what I experienced - no real balls and punch because they're so low compared to other pickups out today - so how are you getting this tone without all the squeeling ?? And also you're really using no pedals ?? And you have no internal boost / no cascade mods done or others to the plexi ? Are your speakers v30s those are like the active pickups of the speaker world I find !! Please Lmk your thoughts man I'm shocked you got that good a sound out of a 50s strd LP of all things ?? Please do tell I'll keep the secret my friend .. ^^ I personally ended up choosing between a Les paul slash gold top standard - Instore It felt like a custom shop standard pretty much in comparison with those slashbuckers inside perfect hot paf not old and dated" sounding when trying to play hard rock and not too hot hot like a Seymour jb when you add gain loved it. I shot out the Slash gold top against R8, R9s R7s Murphy labs and les paul customs instore. The Slash had the feel sound and looks I was after fantastic neck too, i like the neck wood to fill my hand, the standard 50s profile or R8 profile is great for me 60s standard was too thin but the Slash was my favorite - a little clubby, but not too massive just a great grip / neck shape over all and a beautiful gold top with black back just makes it look like a custom shop guitar over a more plain Gibson CS gold top that has the brown wood natural back to it. ^ Another thing with custom shop les pauls was I didn't like the very vintage speced custom buckers at all ; for hard rock they were far too noisy, thin sounding and temperamental no matter the amp and only sounded good clean or with light overdrive , the slashbuckers on the other hand could kind of do it all or atleast what I wanted. At the end of the day, the price difference between a standard 50s like yours Vs slash standard is $3299 CAD vs $3899 but from Slash standard gold top vs CS les pauls gold top or not that's $3899 vs 7-9k range price difference between the two, neither are really better than another and their are lemons, duds and gems with any of those price ranges you just have to sit with say 6 of them ; a couple standards and a couple of custom shops and compare for yourself on the same amp to see which one speaks to you - just because a CS les paul costs what it does won't necessarily mean that it will smoke a good 2022 LP standard off the shelf from the same store. I think others who try what I did might be pleasantly surprised when they do their own a/b les paul shootouts. ^ Anyways thanks in advance for any replies, I always like hearing how guys got their Les Paul's and which one spoke to them / got their attention and why. Would love to hear any tips from you and cheers from Niagara falls Canada brother. Please come tour though here ! 🤟🤟🙏🙏 Best, - Adam
Happy birthday Les Paul and thank you for inventing the solid body guitar in the Epiphone factory 1939 - 41..if not for you and Epiphone there would be No Gibson Les Paul today period!..Also I would Add that Les Paul played Epiphones especially recoding from the early 1940s to the end of the 1950's..when he was under contract with Gibson..Gibson eventually to him to stop and when his contract ended with Gibson he started playing both epiphone and Gibson Live I should know saw him in March of 2009..

I could listen to you for hours and hours 👍👍👍
Nice! I looked down and realized I am wearing the exact same t-shirt you are wearing. My son gave it to me for Christmas last year.

Your video is the best for demonstrating what this Gibson 50's Les Paul Standard is capable of, and your playing is exquisite!!! Thanks.
Your playing was just superb and really highlighted that beautiful Gibson.
You picked the right Les Paul to start off with. I love mine too. Just a real winner from Gibson!

Very nice guitar and playing too. I hear some Nuno Bettencourt, of Extreme, in your riffs. Cool. Subbed and 200th like. 👍🎸
