If he wasn't able to put anything into orbit within 20 years, shouldn't it be blatantly obvious for him that with this pace his time is simply running out? This comes down to a war between generations or generational thought, as musk represents millennials/z's and bezos reps boomers and some portions of older millennials (you can predict who will win if you recognize the strengths that lies within the generations).

I got the feeling there’s also an explanation concerning Elon musk. There are 3 kind of people : those who don’t even know him and his companies, those who hates him sincerly whatever he does, and those who love him sincerely whatever he does.
Dealing with his companies works the same. Great historic clients seems to not bearing him enough so they are ready to deal with ANYONE, but not SpaceX or Tesla 😅. Doesn’t import if SpaceX or Tesla competitors didn’t’ even gave a single proof of their concepts, the most important is that they claim to be as advanced as SpaceX/Tesla or more. The fact for example huge Companies like IVECO and General Motors made a deal with the biggest automotive Fraud company of the 21th century (NIKOLA), who claimed loudly they had the most advanced techs in the world ....let me speechless. Space x goes far ahead !!🚀🚀 putting astronauts on the space station was a giant step, not only for Space X but for the USA 👏👏.
But, um my opinion, humanity can only gain from this space race through private companies! 🙏🚀🚀❤

August 2022, and Blue Origin still launching space bungees with humans in it, while SpaceX has launched 7 human rated missions to orbit with the next one setting new records as they commit the first commercial Spacewalk while a 120m giant rocket is being prepared for its first orbital test flight.
Blue Origin being compared to SpaceX is an insult to the latter, Blue Origin is often refered to as a New Space company but the reality couldn't be further than the truth, if anything the closest thing to actually competing with SpaceX is RocketLab and its CEO is also a passionate engineer that actually does something.
