I.e. If the data is not verified then how can an outcome based on that data be verified?

      Ignore this rambling, it's... just ramblings, lol.
      I remember doing further classes on a bunch of different topics back in ... 1996, or thereabouts? We went over Forensics, Egyptology, Astronomy and, among other things, the art of hoaxes. We looked into how the Loch Ness Monster hoax photographs would have been done, and we used camera techniques and plastic bottles to reproduce the photograph, because that was easier than what could be done by the consumer computer at the time.
      Yet, I have kids argue with me that photoshop, or some form thereof was possible back then... It's like, many people didn't even have televisions back in 1969, lol. The concept of technological leaps and bounds is a distant thought to these younger generations; my friend's father was born when there was no such thing as flight, and died after the average person could catch a jumbo jet from one continent to another.
      What technology didn't exist or was in only its infancy when you were young, that would become used by the masses by the end of your lifetime? For me, it's personal computers and mobile phones. It's insane to think you can pull something out of your pocket, ask it a question, and be told something you once had to go and pick up a book in a library to find out. VR, or more specifically augmented reality, might be another big one.

    Just a quick refresher:
    Over more than 10 years, Project Apollo involved 400,000 people working at major contractors such as Boeing, North American Aviation, Douglas Aircraft Company, IBM, Motorola and MIT University.
    Converted to today, the costs were 341 billion dollars and this is the main reason why 'we' didn't go back.
    After Apollo 11 there were 5 more other landings. Apollo 12 to 17 except 13.
    Kubrick? No self-respecting film director is going to make the same movie SIX times from the same set with black and white camera equipment and only different actors. Also CGI didn't exist yet.
    Van Allen? Astronauts are protected by their spacesuits and by the metal shell of the rocket. Moreover, they fly shortly through the least strong belts.
    Why no stars? All films and photos were taken during daylight. Trying to get stars in a photo will result in an overexposed photo.
    Are all the data lost? No. The Apex tape recordings of the TV broadcast and telemetry were overwritten but all the 16mm films and photos are still in the NASA Archive.
    Can we still see the landing sites? Both the dual rover tracks and the footprints are clearly visible in the images,
    which were captured and beamed back by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), the Chinese lunar satellite Chang'e 2 and the Indian lunar satellite Chandrayaan-2.

When Nixon was told the film coverage would be poor and grainy he hit the roof and additional film was made in a studio to supplement the film from the moon to fully exploit the event and get value for the expense ! End of story - no real conspiracy. If you believe NASA and the Govt are cynical enough to fake the moon landing you must believe they would be willing to add some fake footage to improve the coverage.

    • @sgdeluxedoc
      @sgdeluxedoc 5 лет назад +10

      Depends if it's at perihelion or not.. After all, the moon changes it['s size a lot too. Even so, we don't *actually* know how big the earth is compared to the moon, relatively speaking. The photo wouldn't mean anything, since it would just vary in size depending on how much background is shown . If they had cropped the photo it would have looked much bigger..

    • @TodaysDante
      @TodaysDante 5 лет назад +19

      @@sgdeluxedoc - If we actually went to the moon, wouldn't we have a pretty fair estimate on the earth/moon ratio? Just take a look at the midpoint of the journey. • @seigeengine
      @seigeengine 5 лет назад +25

      Wow that other guy's comment is moronic.
      The key you're missing is that the cameras being used to take those photos are not the same. You can make the moon look huge on Earth just by zooming in with a camera. You've undoubtedly seen photos where the moon looks enormous because it's been zoomed in. Go look up moon photos and look for ones that you can see land too. See how misleading they can be?
      You can't just blindly compare photos taken from different cameras or even the same camera set up differently and expect everything to look the same size.
      So yes, if you were to be standing on the moon looking at Earth, it would appear larger than if you were on Earth looking up at the Moon, but remember that you are not doing that. You are looking at photos, taken by cameras that aren't your eyes.

    Sure, when photographing the LEM and astronauts at wrong exposure the solar brightness washes out the stars. But why, in all the missions, dont we get photos just of the stars? Stars appear no different from the moon than they do from low Earth orbit, and yet how many photos of stars have you seen taken by astronauts in low Earth orbit :-)
      After all, men had been in space for 8 years before Apollo 11, with many spacewalks carried out by both the USA and USSR and some with cameras too, and yet where are their photographs of the stars?

      Actually NASA supposedly used stages in the 60s... they wouldn't have had the kind of technology required to actually simulate something like that back then. Not when a cellphone nowadays has more power than all of NASA mission control in 1969.

    • @codyhanson6627
      @codyhanson6627 5 лет назад +3

      @Jair Bear I would LOVE to get some of what you're smoking, if you could arrange that I'd be in your debt.
      The main reason we haven't returned to the moon is political and budgetary reasons. The height of NASA's budget was during the Apollo program and that's because it took every dime to fund that mission.
      You also have to look at the number of staff required during that mission, sure we may be able to do it cheaper nowadays but the problem is that a president isn't going to authorize such a mission due to there being very little gain.
      To believe that NASA had the ability to fake this kind of thing in CGI back in the 60s is absolutely hilarious... I think you need to take a class on the history of technology and realize that vacuum tubes were not a sufficient technology for handling the delicate processing required for such a scene.
      The main point of contention is that they were faked in a movie set/stage and that's far more believable than CGI. But, with that said... it's still as silly as believing the Earth is flat.
