If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
    How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
    Never quit,
    Alex
    FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

As a beginner, educate yourself: Learn the basics of investing and the stock market. There are many resources available online , including books, articles, and online courses. It’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio across different stocks and sectors to minimize risk. I’ve heard of people accruing over $550k during recessions and inflation, its important to do your own research

Undeniably factual. Despite my absence of prior investing acumen, I ventured into investments pre-pandemic and managed to amass a profit of about $450k within that year. Essentially, I solely relied on professional counsel.

Certificate courses. Online degree programs. Just trying to absorb enough shit until I learned enough or got inspired enough to take a shot at something. Saw his thumbnails for months and thought he looked bullshit. Finally clicked one because I think I was finally starting to come to the reality I was going to have to get investor money to do what I want to do because I just couldn't find someone who could persuade me. Lesson learned lol Learned more from him for free in 2 weeks than I have in 2 years combined. I seriously unsubscribed from all the other channels (attention) and am just finishing all his stuff up. Wonder if he'd sell me an option for 4 1hr sessions 5 years from now? lol He should be worth 5 or 10 billion by then.

I think it's just a portfolio line of credit. Usually, a low-interest rate requires borrowing a large amount though. The more you borrow, the lower the interest rate. Also, I believe the interest rates are not fixed either but I'd have to double-check on that.

It’s crazy how the wealthier you get the simpler the approach to investing becomes for most. I remember meeting a 20M guy in his 70s and he said all he did was indexes that paid 4-5% dividends in Australia which isn’t uncommon and he spends the rest of his time enjoying life. He also leveraged loans against the indexes to buy more indexes and converted his non tax deductible debt (personal home) to tax deductible by buying those indexes with it 😂

Instead of a typical index, if we can structure a IUL (Index Universal Life) Insurance policy CORRECTLY, you can borrow against yourself, and recapture your own interest on your own terms; all the while earning a 6-12% on your principal as if it was never touched regardless of what stock market is doing. This is what banks themselves do, along with many high net worth individuals/families (rothschild/rockefellers) - Former NFL athlete here with Premiere Financing. Lets talk

The stock market has been a really tough one this past year, but I watched an interview on CNBC where the anchor kept mentioning "Tamara Diane Hagan". This prompted me to get in touch with her, and from May 2021 till now we have been working together, and I can now boast of $540,000 in my trading portfolio.

Can you borrow against your index funds for investing in real estate syndication? If so then that would be a pretty low risk way to generate cash flow. Basically you’re being the bank at that point…borrowing money at a low interest rate to give it to somebody else at a higher interest rate.

  • @goldenremnant2610
    @goldenremnant2610 2 года назад

Slight correction: the banks doesn’t put any money into mortgages. Ever.
They create money by digitally “printing” it using your trust account - the money they give you is based on your reliability to work your tail off and pay the loan back. The money they give YOU is backed by… YOU.
Then they securitize it and sell it on the stock market.
Then they take your home away from you when you miss 3-6 payments, re-sell it on the stock market and re-securitize that new mortgage loan.

Good video. I wouldn't limit myself to only multi-family for a few reasons. There are very few sellers and there are few serious buyers (lots of wanna Bs). SFH are everywhere and there a thousand times more buyers. They are ill-liquid, but in the right location can be sold relatively quickly or refinanced easily if the need for cash comes up. I agree with what you are saying, but I don't see the need to limit yourself to only multi-family.

Great info. One thing that is kind of confusing when you mix up your business portfolio company with your personal "income". Are you investing company profits into indexes (for example), or are you investing your personal income paid to you from your portfolio company?

    LOVE THIS!
Curious what you (or your mentor) would say about using a well designed cash value life insurance policy as opposed to the index option? …and possibly the liquid cash option as well.
Sounds like they have some similar benefits, but I think the policy has a few more related to taxes, more liquidity, and a future death benefit.
I’m def not an expert, but that’s my understanding?
Btw… your book is ridiculous. Ive referred to countless people already. It’s my new favorite 🤘

hi I absolutley love this, and I would like to ask something, if I borrow money against my index funds, doI still earn the dividend payment as well as benefit from the appreciation of the stock while the interest on the loan remains 1.5%. or Does my creditor benenfit from the dividends while my stock has been collateralized ?
    Thanks
