I watched the previous video and thought "He's gonna go full ludic path on this thing isn't he?" And what do you know? Barely a minute in and Ludd's favorite tanker fills your roster.

@@Rarr Just a tip, Rarr. If you got Vayra ship pack, there is a phase ship called nightwalker. It has a large synergy mount, And with the More Hull Mods, there is one called split flow that snap damage, flux cost as well as increasing RoF by a factor of two, allowing you to attach the BFG.
So basically, you got a destroyer phase ship that is firing BFGs AND can make time stand still with its special ability.
You can see where this heretical path is going.

i think i got one from scrapping XD tbh having even a single tanker in fleep is too good.
Imagine losing to an alien ship, limping back home, and then your boss says "I have a solution!" and wheels a Taliban bomb with a chair duct taped on top into the hanger.

If you don't know what to do with your enemy, "more explosives" usually a good place to start.

I see you havent learned the way of the Luddic Path Baller (brawler). I seriously suggest getting a fleet of at least 10 LP brawlers, restore them (17k credits for Ill advised modifications), and put 1 chaingun and one HMG on it, 2 dual LMGS on the small slots. Its such a broken ship, Ive been taking out multiple ordos back to back with it. no mods required.
Also im amazed that luddic suicide bomber infernium tankers actually worked. Ludd smiles upon those brave crewman who sacrificed themselves for the greater good
Lp brawlers are incredible I at least have a couple in all my fleets nowadays. 2 chain guns and some sabots is my normal load out. Or put hammerheads on for memes

I must say, that first detonation kill on the big dragon and premature celebration when the enemy "remains" is still being covered by the fallout/bloom then vocalizing near panic when seeing it's still alive is iconic
For a moment, I thought the title meant the wheel of time Dragon reborn, and I was very confused as to what Rand was doing in starsector

I love Arms Dealers since they can get you access to rare weapons and ships that you otherwise have to go market or blueprint hopping to find (Remnant weapons, 14th and 4th battlegroup, Tahlan shipworks and UAF).

try colonizing the planet near the dragon and put some defense force on it so they can fight the dragon with you, just ask them for following you to the battle and they will gladly die for you. this method way cheeper faster and safer compared to build a fleet full of IED ship
You know I acutally tried that, I settled on the Baron world in the system and called in a defensive fleet. But the Dragon was neutral with me so it didn't work lol. I had a large section about it but I ended up cutting it from the video.

Ah yes, bounties in mod packs are always terrifying. I recall in an earlier version of the the ship/weapon pack, there was a bounty for a remnant super mothership that slow spun around. It had a fixed super laser that one taped anything it hit. My god. The casualties.
It was nerfed, sadly.

i just want to let you know, Rarr, that you are the reason i have started playing starsector. thank you for the entertaining content. keep up the good work. :D
After watching your vids I got really into building fleets of low-tech garbage and its some of the most fun playstyles I've tried in this game. A literal piece of rock with enough small hardpoints to annihilate any smaller ship in seconds? Check. A pirate ship which can launch 6 torpedoes and instantly reload with its active skill? Check. A fleet of ship-sized 'fuck you' missiles? By Ludd, check.
With mods you can do it a million ways but in vanilla you just run drugs and heavy machinery, raid pirates, then grind tri tach for paragons / carriers using mirv launchers... ez

Yes 80k per IED and I was able to recover nearly all my ships s yeah. Was very good!

what's the difference between the LP erradicator and the standard erradicator? (aside of 1 med slot also allowing missiles, having 3 small ballistic slot less one small missle slot more and being ~20-25% more expensive; i don't see the big benefit)
What mod gives you those beautiful backgrounds in combat? I tried looking for a mod like that since I saw the Diable Avionics trailer but I couldn't find one.
Unknown Skies, I'd venture. Plus the utility libraries (graphicslib, lazylib, magiclib - don't remember which one does what, but they do have stuff like reworked explosions, ripple effects on shields and whatnot)
ludic path really can beat many overpower fleet, but with high cost of course for balancing. but still beating one of late game bos with early mid gameplay fleet surely one of achievement. for me high tech vs high tech for alot easier way to win, but high tech has it own problem, with lack of weapon of high tech usually for me until late game i posess this kind of fleet, Midline vs High tech barely average difficulty for me, but midline had limited ship choice unless using mod as addon.
Low tech vs High Tech usually very hard for me to beat, every big battle will come with cost especially when vs fleet with high number of fighter/bomber wings, low tech pd weapon / wing interceptor had bad relation with fast movement enemy wings. For Tesseract family (including dragon reborn), actually not that scary, with enough flux alocation and high shield absorb will able to beat it at ease(but must matching the size, frigate vs frigate, destroyer vs destroyer etc). But the wings that come from spliting after destroyed that scary one, those wing usually give me a lot more casualty than actual tesseract or its split part combine.
Rarr, you are wonderfully terrible at this game and I loved watching. It's really a shame that you want to move on to something else. You gave me quite a few ideas that I will have to try out. That mod list is on point too, btw.

Yeah, the Mess system is a fantastic place to farm and snag some great loot, especially from the stations.
after watching your videos for few weeks i got this game for myself :)

Those kamikaze ships are such a pain in the ass seriously. From an easy faction to farm creds from it bacame the worse.

Speaking about dragons challenges are like killing dragons just like the Cassandra Classic Experience may be a very hard but fun challenge. But nonetheless love the content and have a good one.

okay now check in the top left hand corner of the map, you may feel a EYE on you ;). I am trying to not ruin it to much but if fighting the dragon was fun try looking for a single ship that gives a message saying you feel a "scream" and some crew collapse you have found it, but I doubt IED's will be much use..... there is not a whole lot about this ship either as the mod maker deliberately put no spoilers but you would never find it unless you are like me and spend ages scanning every system and I wanna see someone else suffer like I did >:D
