    I'm week 4 post acl reconstruction. I got to be honest. A lot of these videos give a false hope. Every one I see people are way ahead of where I am. I wasn't even cleared to put weight on it until yesterday. I'm glad you're recovering well. To everyone else, recover at the pace your doctor and therapist work out. Don't get discouraged.

    • @Famvestor
      @Famvestor  2 года назад +11

      Charlie sorry to hear you've been having a hard time of it, not sure if you watched my week-4 video but I was right there with you, I was onyl allowed to put 20% weight on my operated knee untill the doctor cleared me at week 5.
      And this was completely different from my right knee ACL surgery I did 2 years ago, where I was able to immediately weight bare right after surgery.
      Yea everyone has their own journey, wishing you the best on yours.

      Im there, too. I wasnt able to work past 90 and bear any weight until week 6 due to my meniscus tear. Now im just at 94 degrees and 6 degrees

    • @nicholasngng9225
      @nicholasngng9225 2 года назад +3

      I am allowed to put full weight only in my seventh week, my range of motion stuck at 90 degrees by then. My doctor expected a full range of motion by then and I started to push very hard. My ROM has since improved from 90 to 125 along with very painful rehab stretching and stationary bike. You may not see hope for now but the improvement is meant to be exponential after a certain time.

    • @zakiqalbi2182
      @zakiqalbi2182 2 года назад

      How you was first 2 weeks?

    • @yelenawilliams9953
      @yelenawilliams9953 2 года назад +2

      @@zakiqalbi2182 not sure if you want just anyone to answer. For my first 2 weeks after acl surgery (and meniscus repair) there was a lot of gentle stretching and propping the leg up. I was constantly foot pumping because my foot felt like it was tingling. It was hard to get the compression sock on, take a shower, and so on, but for me personally, the meds reeeally helped me sleep all day and night.
      Having people over to just hang out really distracted me in a good way. I highly recommend it.
      One scary thing is my gasping in pain in the middle of the night. Dont let it freak you out. Get a good support system around you. Have people that care about you sleep over and bring you ice. Icing helps a lot. It’ll be fine :-)

    I'm at 12 weeks now and I can't express how grateful I am to you for posting your recovery journey and I had similar, down to earth progress like you did. It was helpful as some of the videos online show rapid progress which is difficult to follow or at times watch without getting more upset. Your video after six weeks was the best of them all, the most emotional one for me as I was struggling to walk properly at that time and that video kept me motivated.
    As I am one more day from exactly 12 weeks since surgery, I've had a chance to walk on the sand and go near the sea, carry and walk with my daughter as she starts walking.
    Thanks for the massive impact that you've made in my recovery journey!

    I was mentally devastated when it happened but the recovery is going fantastic for me imo. I'm just 2 days post 4 week, got full extension and flexion within week 2.I watched your videos pre surgery and was freaking out but honestly gave me a lot of hope. Now my only goal is to get back to powerlifting again so that I can delay PTOA as much as possible.

    Everything was fine but you should never do exercises and workouts next to a infant, that too when you are injured, take care and never repeat the mistake

      You should be able to start trying from day 2. Up to 90 degrees for the first month. And then my doctor let me go past 90 after the first month.
