I bought the Jogger when it came out but i dont need the 7 seats anymore, its been an excellent car and far exceeded my expectations. Before hand, i was a live long Toyota man who renewed his car every 3 years. A new RAV4 is over £40k now, which i refuse to pay, its a good car but its not that good. This new Duster looks perfect! It reminds me of what Toyota used to be about.
Changing cars every 3 years and you're complaining about a reliable 40k car?
Must be the new kind of rich.
I’m seriously considering the New Duster as my next car. I like it a lot.
i orderd one, excited to get em beginning next year
I have the 2017 one. Pure beast and sweet. Diesel. 20kmpl 😂❤1.2
As a Romanian, I was skeptical when it first came out, but it tourned out to be the best car, ever, it does everything and cheaply, and it's reliable.
I have the current Duster but seriously considering this upgrade to the new model. After 22 years of Audis, I bought a Duster Journey last year and have surprised myself by loving it. It's a real workhorse of a car, swallows animal feed and hay in the boot, bounces over farm tracks and fields, easy to drive and cheap to run. My only niggle is the lack of anywhere to put a spare wheel unless you buy the cage to sling it underneath the car - not exactly the easiest place to get at it. I keep mine in a bag in the rear seat passenger foot well. Not ideal! But other than that, a great car. This new one looks even better - considering getting the 4x4 version. And thank goodness for a petrol engine!
Another great review! And I like the new Duster - absolutely nothing wrong with it, and maybe I’m getting sensible (finally!) but cheap, practical, reliable motoring is more sensible than leasing a high-end EV or hybrid these days!
Great review thanks!! Just two things though.... the mobile phone holder is removable... it's on one of those U clips and the turning off the speed recognition etc can be done by pressing a button on the dash to the left of the steering wheel (or to the right on right hand drive). You can program in the settings you want to switch off normally and then every time you get into the car, you just need to press the button once and they're all off.
I had a 2020 duster. Absolutely loved it and the only reason I didn’t change to another one was because I knew this was coming out and bought a 2nd Arkana instead. I’ll definitely be buying the new Extreme version which will be perfect for my roof tent.
I think it looks great, clean and rugged at the same time...More importantly, if it stays cost effective it will be a bargain....Wish the engine had a bit more power..Great overview..
Had a test drive today in the new Duster absolutely love this car from every angle the drive was very good too, intend ordering one soon to replace my ageing Skoda Yeti.
Own the gen 2 Duster (3.5 years now). Its a great car - we choosed to spec it with just "everything" on the accessories list and some more (extra LED lights in the front, Defa car heater with an app to control it, skibox, tables in the backseat etc). The car still was still about half the price of many "regular cars" especially electric ones.
It consumes around 7.5 - 8.0 litres per 100 kilometer but then we let the rails and skibox be mounted year around to have an even more practical car. We use it as and "everyday car", towing our boat and cravan sometimes. We have the 130 hp manual with 4WD and its brilliant i the winter and when towing up the boat-tralier. It never gets stuck and snow is no problem whatsoever. Its ok in speeds up to around 130 km/h, over that it gets "noisy", especially with the skibox.
All in all a great car and we´ll problably go gor the new model in a year or so. A pity though that the hybrid version can tow up to just 750 kg what I understand. Anyone that has other figures? Otherwise we´ll go for the normal petrol 4WD manual the next time as well. The one w have today can tow up to 1800 kg in Sweden
Brilliant video as usual....thankyou! In fact you sold me the previous generation Duster which I have loved so much. I'm really looking forward to getting this new updated model when it arrives.
You can remove the phone holder, is the same clip-on system as the cup or torch
Thanks
Great video Mark.
Put a vw badge on it ,and charge an extra 20K
Putting such a badge on it will not make it as good.
PERHAPS YOU ARE THE REASON THAT VAG HAS LOST OUT TO TOYOTA RECENTLY, BUT ANYWAY...IN THE REAL WORLD...HOW DOES ATTACHING THE BADGE FROM ANOTHER OEM, THEN CHARGING 20,000 EXTRA...GBP?...EUROS?...BECOME IN ANY WAY A POSSIBILITY, WELL GENIUS?. WHICH PART OF YOUR NAME DESCRIBES THE MATERIAL THAT YOUR "BRAIN" IS MADE FROM...ROCK OR BUN?
What an amazing car!
Have they sorted a place to put your left foot ?
We're on our second Duster and they're brilliant 🙂
That looks really good and has all rhetorical gadgets and safety features……I will have a look at this
Really interested in Dacia Jogger the 1.5 hybrid. Two gears. ⚙️ need a review. The colours are awesome and looks like a Volvo v60
Looks well. I had Logan Mcv a few years back and it never gave a moments trouble.
Driving a Logan Stepway now, had it for 6 years from new and a great workhorse. Have been tempted by a Jogger but don’t need the 7 seat set-up or the hassle of storing the 2 back seats. This Duster looks great but will need to see in the flesh if it has enough boot space as the Logan has a huge boot!
Boot won’t be the same that’s for sure !
Good looking car Looks a bit like a Volvo XC 40 / Jeep Avenger on the the side profile Heater Knobs have vanished Any Diesels ?
No. Also, no 1.33TCe anymore 😢
afraid not
Damn good looking car
If you're thinking price, in Romania right now the cheapest trim with the 1.0l GPL engine starts from 18800 euro. The most expensive trim with the full hybrid 140 bhp powertrain starts from 26650 eur. You can check by what percentage the old version was more expensive in Ireland, and apply that percentage to these prices to see how much this thing will cost.
I did the math. The old model was approx 1.45 times more in Ireland.
So this one will start from about 28k
For the extreme hybrid model in Ireland is €36,000 - €37,000 😮
@@amyl5783 Yeah, crazy right. 😆 That's because of taxes, transportation costs and right side driving position.
Great review 😊front end looks very Jeep-esque and good to see the quality improvements…is Dacia about to become Renault’s Skoda?
I don’t think they’re quite there yet but could see it happening
Very impressive to be fair. It’s all about the price point. 4 speed auto ok for short or town work, would have liked to see a 6 speed though, not the end of the world either. I would be happy owning this vehicle. I’m not a fan of EV’s so yeah! All in all a great effort from Dacia.
Ordered the car today. LPG Expression / white.
What's your verdict?
It's a great car... Until now.. Comfortable, sufficient power and long range. I absolutely don't regret the purchase and actually look forward to every ride. All features of the extreme or journey version seem to be not only nonsensical, but also more buggy, if you believe the experience reports of some forum users. FOR EXAMPLE. The modular roof rails are poorly thought out and impractical. The distance between the cross members is too small for many roof boxes.
The automatic climate control is also probably less reliable than the manual one in the Expression.
The only thing I'm missing is the double trunk
@@KrishanSpark Thanks for that information. Can you tell me about driver headroom? I'm 1m 83 tall. Will I fit in without my head touching the roof? I tried a Stepway with a sunroof in the showroom, and the top of my head was touching the roof - hence the move onto the Duster.
@@roymatoir5439I'm exactly 1 cm shorter than you. There is enough space to the roof. Even if you pump the seat up to max.
Btw... Get the winter package.
@@KrishanSpark Thank you very much for that. You are a shining star!
Dacia duster always had a Renault engine I,ve owned 4 looking forward to this one number5 absolutely love them.
Does it have adaptive cruise control? Still can’t tell, says it does online but the buttons on steering wheel don’t show the distance controls
basic cruise, not adaptive
On the Captur hybrid it has an EV button that can keep it in EV mode. Does the Duster have it?
Best looking car... Insane
When will the new Duster arrive in Ireland? Great looking car
Mark is it a CVT or a standard automaic ?
There is absolutely no doubt it is an impressive car, in terms of looks, and generally what it offers, however, if what you say that £30k+ is the price for top spec, I'd rather have a premium marque that's a couple of years old. Still, there is a lot to like about the Dacia.
Quality video matey 😊
Lovely car, great review... certainly very interested but when is it going to be released in the UK?
Should be available around July I think
@@NobbyOnCars Thank you for getting back to me, appreciated.
I think having owned two Stepways that the only thing that would deter me from buying the new duster would be the noise levels
Cracking looking motor!
Waiting to see the Biggest next year
Bigster 😁
It's not a bad car for £18,295
The problem is, it's 26k for the 1.2 TCE 4x4 which is what you'd pay for a 3yo low mileage RAV4 hybrid AWD
@@alexanderstefanov6474, the 1.3 engine no longer exists. It's a 1.2, 3 cylinder new engine with mild hybrid technology.
@@sebastianstoica578 my mistake, yes the 1.33 has been replaced by the 1.2
I would wrap the plastics in something soft, not a big deal in such a simple car
Tanx Mark great review. Is the colour SANDSTONE ?
That’s right 👌🏻
Almost a perfect car. Just lacks a diesel/diesel hybrid engine in the 4x4 version.
Good news!
Is there an automatic?
There is 👍
Elena Ceauşescu: Ill take one, if I can swap out the flecked wheel liners for the news print bumpers on the Dacia Spring ! 😀
_Romanian Hummer_
Good review no nonsense car
Another great video, thank you. 😊
Great review, thanks..😊
Great review, is there any word on increasing the warrenty from 3 years to 5??
Not sure about the standard warranty but Dacia just launched a 7 year warranty programme called Zen, if I recall correctly.
@@sebastianstoica578 yes 7 year warrenty up to 150km for new and existing cars must be serviced by registered dealer👍
Looks good, but not sure I'd be tempted out of my second generation diesal duster.
2023 Kia gt-line or a new duster ?
Kia
23 plate model is good too
Citroen listen! What the berlingo should have been and at the premium price too. It’s a car for the people. Still twice out my price range
When will the new Duster arrive in Ireland
Afternoon mate
Does full hybrid comes with 4x4?
no
The bronze copper wing mirrors don't match anything else on the car & look odd like some mix match scrapper parts - I'd want them same colour as the rest of the car
It was a big seller in diesel a lot of farmers and sales rep had them 1.5 dci a good diesel very economical but no diesel it we not sell in the same numbers complex hybrid systems are more trouble than there worth electronics computers and miles of wiring to get near the economy of diesel the diesel would be far more reliable and car buyers know this no thanks
What's the Euro NCAP safety rating on this car...usually Dacia are abysmal when it comes to that.....
Hasn’t been released yet
Irish price list for all Dacia cars
...critique.... windows are getting smaller and smaller, especially for rear seat kids ... Style over real world use..mits what ppl think they want
Shame no spare wheel option.
extreme version has it, just bought one.
Good lucking car
I would like one but it is far too expensive for me.
simple honest review but ive looked at a dozen reviews here in france where we live,im from dublin ,wife is french,we have a renault kadjar with huge mileage looking at all options for a trade in,obviously 1.2 tce 3 cylinder is underpowered hence the noise and noisy pillars as well,as we spend a lot of motorway driving her i think the noise would be annoying quite quickly,as you said school runs and local driving is fine if youre on a budget, ill keep looking, thanks.
Looks great..
but this is NOT your old poor mans Dacia..
this is on another level now.. and priced accordingly..
and there are MANY competitors here..
with MUCH more desirable badges on the hood.
All in all, i like the car but it's too expensive now.
That door plastic makes the polo feel like a Bentley.
From the second Duster to the third.
1. The price is up 40 %.
2. You get 3 cyl instead of 4, unless you get the hybrid.
Thanks but no thanks.
Thanks
Really appreciate it thank you
The correct pronunciation of Dacia is " Dachia ".
He did say it correctly once at the start then reverted to the Da cia pronunciation. Lol! 😅
Nice car. It looks a bit like the Hummer ( CSI Miami). It would be perfect if they'd put more powerful engines in it. All the testers say it's a bit underpowered. Also in my opinion the head rests look odd and I don't like the bronze coloured door mirrors.
Did you say there'd be a diesel? The diesel was the most popular Duster
Read there are no plans for a diesel for the UK market (v. annoying as the 1.5 DCI is a great engine!) 😢
No diesel in Europe
Of the 42 Dusters 2024 for sale on donedeal the majority are diesel, 35 of the 42 are diesel. Then again all these cars are probably ex rentals but I wonder if the lack of diesel option will have buyers go for a diesel Skoda koroq that runs on bio fuel, that are best for long motorway distances
Wrong! The diesel wasn't the most popular Duster!
Love how the Irish pronounce it ‘Dassia’ and the English pronounce it “Dacha” 😂
No duster has ever been 31,000 thousand
Price hasn’t been announced yet 🙄
It’s err transport !
Excellent car but with an idiotic engine offer!
I hope that dacia will come to their senses and return the 1.5 dci
Or better yet stick the 1.7 litre diesel from the previous X Trail in it, it is underpowered in the larger X Trail but should be pretty good in the Duster. (& a manual box please with the selectable locking centre diff).
Think I’ll stick with Ford
Where is the diesel?
There isn't one for the UK or European markets....
Don't like all the in car tech, screens, a small screen maybe but it's a huge turn off just makes the car look really ugly in my opinion, especially the digital Instrument cluster, it looks like a bag of sick !
Dacia are loosing the run of themselves trying to be like the rest making tablets on wheels when most people especially who buy Dacia want cheap simple cars with proper controls for climate.
I drive an EV with all this in car tech and can't wait to get rid of it, I recently drove a Kia Stonic and it had a lovely cockpit and analogue instrument cluster.
All this tech is so distracting, so many menus to go through and spotify playlists while driving = bad accident waiting to happen and I wonder is all the increased deaths on Irish roads related to the ever increasing amounts of tech we find in cars ? if phones are bad what auto manufacture thinks more in car entertainment systems and screens is a good idea just because Tesla do it ?
The problem for me is around 5 dealers told me they won't take my EV as a trade in and even VW offer me half the 41K it cost new after 2.5 years, never again !
Disappointed with the engine lineup tbh.
Its pronounced Dat cha I asked a Romanian work colleague
The material used for the floor is abysmal and no one talks about that plus the automatic only has 4 gears.
Waiting in india
Epic!
You've been mugged off nobby. 2020 Duster was 8,700 GBP
Think about it....
But that's not true, is it?
The proof is in the pudding doesn’t mean anything
Da numai ca avem nevoie de un diesel. Cu electrica nu te duci departe.
Dacia a renuntat la diesel exact in 2024 ... si nu ii mai vad rostul unui diese cand ai 6.5l consum pe 140hp pe hybrid.
Volvo front and Skoda back? Both suck.
NO for this copy of a brick.
That's a handy torch 😂. Just short of making a spare wheel a torch too! Lordy.
While an excellent price for what you get, the Extreme version is definitely no longer a widely affordable car at €27,000+.
If that is the price in Ireland, it’s still going to be extremely competitive
@@NobbyOnCars I agree, Nobby. But l think it will cost more then that in Ireland, and my point remains that it is most definitely no longer an affordable car for the majority of people: it's Dacia going the same way as Skoda and Seat. I love the look of the car but l prefer the Renault Arkana RS Line which has more tech, looks better and can be purchased for not a vastly greater amount of money. And, as you know, Renault owns Dacia. By the by, an excellent review.
Only 4 gears that’s mad!! No wonder it’s loud..
4 mecanical gears and 2 electronical gears, it is a complicated gear sistem actualy combining the 4 mecanical and 2 electrical to go for over 15 gear ratios. Its a Renaul F1 tech, don't know how durable they are but they are put on Clio E-tech since 2021. And the fact that it revs high somethins has to do with how full you bateri is charged. If it is low the engine revs to move the car and charge the bateri, complicated stuff that gear box is :D.
quality of plastic interior are simply terribly,it reminds on east european cars from 80-s like Škoda Favorit or Lada niva and similar but Dacia must save somewhere
Don’t agree -yeah it’s not premium but it’s definitely not terrible
@NobbyOnCars for 27000 euro it is terribly and for year 2024
@@Mr11ESSE111buddy, not a word you've written in the past two comments is correct.
@@t.fernbach602 you blind or stupid then if you think that shuitty Dacia have good plastic and interior inside!? they are cheap even they are not cheap anymore or especially if we count horse power per price
Clearly never had an 80s car. Utter nonsense.
