    I like more the idea of the sword being just a normal weapon, i don't remember exactly what story was but there's a story were someone believes that a hero is overpowered because the sword he wields, but when he is given a normal sword he still strong and his weapon of legend was just that a legend or myth something people said to explain his fighting prowess.
    Jaune could be a God-King type of hero, raising from nothing and achieving a higher status without the need of maiden magic, grimm powers or any supernatural force, you know the guy who ascends into myth because is actually competent and not because the power is given to him, holding a normal sword that he just upgrades overtime makes sense for the natural progression of his character and probably we're going to see a third iteration of crocea mors.

      I agree, and I would like to see Jaune become a hero in his own right without using any powers other than his own. But if say another war happens, Jaune could distinguish himself and then get a further upgrade with possibly the relic of destruction. Corcea Mors is going to be relevant in one way or another and I look forward to seeing where Jaune will end up and how he progresses. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    Great Theory. It would PERFECTLY explain why Ozpin let Jaune be leader, why he let him join the school (because face it he KNEW Jaune faked those transcrpits) and I think he did kinda notice Jaune's sword when he did the "Hm" to Glenda. But the payoff would be so far into Rwby that he wouldn't have to point it out right now. Just hint to having an interest in Jaune for some reason. This could ALSO explain why Tyrian had an interest in Jaune.
    But I could totally see Jaune's sword being the key to the REAL Vault of Beacon. And I could TOTALLY see him taking the relic and not wanting to give it to Ozpin. He doesn't trust him at all at this point. But I think that'll end when Ozpin sits him down and hits a few key points.
    1. Her death wasn't his fault. If anything it's Ozpin's. But just barely since she DID make her own choices the entire time.
    2. That he KNEW that Jaune faked his transcripts to get in and let him in anyways. Because come on, he had to know.
    3. Tell him about the past of his ancestors and their battles against the Grimm. Give him a reason to fight other than "to avenge her death". In the last volume he was ready to die to Cinder. I think that's him unravelling. He doesn't care for his own life anymore it seems. Well less than he did. He would rather die protecting his friends then live to carry on their will. It's to painful for him. Ozpin HAS to address this. Or he'll end up another Raven.

    • @PhoenixNight
      @PhoenixNight  6 лет назад +6

      That makes a lot of sense, you're right, Ozpin must have known about the transcripts and I wouldn't pt it past Rooster Teeth if the little 'Hm' was a hint at Ozpin knowing about Jaune. They did give us small hints at Jaune's semblance back in Volume 1 as well so that would be great if they planned more things like that. And Tyrian's interest in Jaune hasn't been explained yet either, I wonder what exactly it was about Jaune that he was interested in, his sword or his semblance/aura or maybe something else?
      I'm not sure about his sword being the Key to Beacon's vault (especially since I think Glynda might be the key to Beacon's Vault and made a video on that theory), but I could see it being the key to Vacuo's Vault, especially since the war ended in Vacuo.
      I agree that if Jaune gets a relic, he won't hand it over right away and Ozpin will definitely have to tell him at least some of those things, probably all 3. Great ideas! Thanks for sharing them!

      And I think Tyrian was intrested in Jaune's Semblance. Idk if he could tell or not but if he could I'm sure the ability to gift people Aura is an amazing thing. He could literally gift Grimm with Aura which would make them seriously strong. And even in the episode when we saw Jaune's Semblance for the first time. Raven says to Cinder "Aura can't protect your arm. It's Grimm." Idk but I just felt some connection to those words and Jaune's Semblance. Saelem might want his ability.

    • @PhoenixNight
      @PhoenixNight  6 лет назад +1

      Probably, it would make sense that Tyrian could at least sense Jaune's aura and how much of it he has. I acatually made a video on that exact topic, that Salem wants Jaune's power and might be able to give Grimm aura. Glad to know others think the same way :D

    • @noahtackett6264
      @noahtackett6264 5 лет назад +2

      That makes sense actually, though one thing about Jaune's semblance: I'm not so sure it actually is a semblance. Pyrrha did something similar in volume 1 when awakening Jaune's aura, and her semblance is polarity. We don't fully know what semblance can do when someone gains mastery over it, so I think maybe Jaune became more spiritual after Pyrrha's death and as a result can do more with his aura. Only time will tell if I'm right or wrong on that though

    This is a great theory and makes perfect sense. If it's true then that means that Jaune is technically the Prince of Vale. He fits all the classic fairy tale motifs of the White Knight/Knight in Shining Armor and now Prince. Makes even more sense when you consider that the entirety of Team RWBY is technically a Princess in some form or fashion.

    I agree with him. I was watching MurderofBirds theory of the duality of Jaune and with the Evidence of Phoenix talking about Jaune becoming the strongest human in Remnant who could also be a target to Salem. Speaking of which Salem can't be killed by a weapon. I think Jaune has to be the key in reuniting the four relics to bring the gods back so that maybe they can remove Salem's immortality

    My theory is this what if Juane sword is the sword of destruction: Here me out and I would love this. What if the sword is actually excalibur as in the sword in the stone. Only the rightful people of Jaune family line can use it along with having full mastery over there semblance. Since it was stated jaune seems to have enormous reserves of aura. (I'm still trying to catch up with rwby so sorry if this seems outlandish). Anyway if Jaune were to stay pour all that energy into his sword what if that unlocks its true form?. This would mean Salem couldn't use it as only Jaune could and if your wondering about the spirit in the sword it could be Merlin. Since that would be a good tie in. (this goes more off the theory of if your thinking very powerfull swords from fantasy or well known ones) (the sword excalibur is the most well known). This could possible mean that Jaune has not yet mastered the full power of his sword and semblance.

  • @mrwits5713
    @mrwits5713 6 лет назад +2

    My guess is Crocea Mors has a kind of aura of its own (and that's what produced the gusts on wind we saw twice) and by his amplification of aura, Jaune will be able to make it effective in battle, and will be able to deal with medium range combat. It's a pretty common trope in manga (e.g. shura in saint seya with his Excalibur attack) and even if Adam kind of deal with the same trope, Jaune could have his own version...

  • @johnvrgaming9708
    @johnvrgaming9708 6 лет назад +9

    Interesting theroy I think going to go with the fact that Jaune's sword was probably the great king's sword at one point but then like you said he must've past it down to a warrior that he trusted the most witch ends up being Jaune's grandfather then end pasting it to his father then Jaune himself that's what I'm going for. Now about Jaune abstaining one of the relics I don't know how I will feel about that I guess we will have to see how the story goes in future volumes all though I can definitely see Jaune playing a big role later in the series if the second great war comes true which is more likely so.

    • @PhoenixNight
      @PhoenixNight  6 лет назад +1

      I'm leaning the same way and and we will definitely have to see whats going to happen with the relics, if they can even be used as a weapon first of all and then who will actually use them if they can be weapons on their own. I absolutely agree that Jaune will have a large role to play in the series, one way or another he is probably going to become a hero as has been foreshadowed, likely in the next great war as you said, but as for how he does it we will have to wait and see i suppose.

      Phoenix/Night all right now can I ask you a question? Do you think Jaune is more fit to be the main character and Ruby herself?

    • @PhoenixNight
      @PhoenixNight  6 лет назад +2

      Of course, questions are welcome and that is a difficult one. As for who is more fit to be the main character, based on where the story is headed, I would have to say Jaune is more fit than Ruby at this point since the series is getting darker and leading to war. So far Jaune seems more grounded and able to handle it. Although Volumes 4 and 5 seemed to focus more on Jaune, I would prefer if both of them continued being the central main characters. Which do you think is more fit to be the main character?

    • @johnvrgaming9708
      @johnvrgaming9708 6 лет назад +1

      Well what I think is that I think Ruby is more fit to be the main character then Jaune although then again Ruby hasn't had much screen time as Jaune did. But I am leaning towards because of her sliver eye powers is enough to defeat Salem and safe Humanity from the Grimm however I do believe Jaune would be the one to get humanity to work together again because as of right now Humanity in the RWBY verse is not getting along at all and it's pretty bad.

    • @PhoenixNight

    Been thinking, what if it's both. as we have seen every time we go to another kingdom Jaune gets a upgrade (i know that happens for Team RWBY and the rest of JNR but its less profound)
    Jaune during the Beacon ARC began learning and coming into his own style, During the Mistral Arc He Learned his Semblance, and had his Sword & Shield and Armor Reforged (From the remnants of Pyrrha's weapons) In the Atlas Arc (thus far) He got a new outfit, enhanced armor, and Dust Capabilities in his shield (the ones we have seen have been Hard-Light/Cyan and Gravity/Purple) in regards to the shield i believe he has 5 other dust settings thus making it a Accurate/Seven Colour Rainbow. I believe that Jaune might either Use the Relic of Destruction whenever We get to Vacuo, or mayhaps wield it in tandem with the twohander form of Crocea Mors, maybe he replaces the relic after his sword is damaged or something. We don't know too much about Vacuo sadly.

    Once again you fail to disappoint, my only complaint Is there was nothing I could use to make a good one liner like the Neptune one.
    Ok now I really like your idea but you gave me an idea. When you mentioned that jaunes weapon was now a combination of pyrrhas and his old one a thought struck me.
    When you said this I remembered the symbol of vacuo. It's a sword with what looks like two more swords on ether side. What if jaunes sword is the relic but only one peice of it.
    See while I know oz said he made sure to make beacons relic harder to find raven also commentted on how much different the relic of wisdoms chamber was to beacons. So we know that she had seen one chamber at least. But what if oz added security measures other than just the maidens power to hide the relics.
    What if because of how powerful the sword is he splits the relic and to make it whole again jaunes sword is needed to put the remaining two peices back together.
    And I Know it's seems far fetched but also jaune if he got a relic would have no need for his old sword. And by extension pyrrhas memory. And I don't think he would abandon it. So unless pyrrha comes back somehow or something happens to his current weapon it just feels wrong for him not to use his and pyrrhas weapon.
    Also jaune could vary well be related to the king. But he may not be from the main branch. See say the king had two sons for simple monarchy sakes. Now if he chooses one son to get the crown not the other. The one who does not inharite will still be royalty but will not real have any political sway unless they get a possition.
    Also given how the king in the war is concerned the last king of Vale also means that the crown was dismantled. So even if jaune is directly related it wouldn't matter. Also it is implyed that jaunes family is loaded with money so there is that.
    Ether way love the theory can wait to hear back.

      His family is a mystery for sure. They could go on regular trips to Shion but without knowing where they are from that doesn't meant much. Also Jaune was kept isolated enough to not know much about the world, EVEN AURA. And yet SOMEHOW his family despite having experienced warriors could already tell he was no good even withouut seeing his aura potential? And given how little he knew when Pyrhaa started with him it doesn't seem like they trained him either? Maybe I am reaching, but it seems more like he was deliberately kept in the dark for some reason?

    • @PhoenixNight
      @PhoenixNight  6 лет назад +1

      @zeb Jensen Oh that is interesting, if a relic could b split, that would be a great way to keep it from enemy hands. My only issue with this is that if his sword is part of a relic then a regular blacksmith with no magic being able to alter the sword with new metal, as Jaunes was seems unlikely. That being said however, it could be very possible that Jaunes sword is one of 2 that would unlock the Vault at Vacuo which would then allow him to get the Sword housing the relic of destruction. I could see his sword having a spell of some sort within it to open the vault and still be able to be altered by a regular blacksmith since the sword itself is only the outer shell containing the magic.
      Yes I had considered that he would have to lose his old sword in some way and I came up with a couple theories for that. First, if a relic can take many forms then the sword housed in Vacuo could combine with Jaunes blade. even if Jaune's sword is not part of the relic itself. Then pyrrha's will would still be with Jaune. Secondly, with Vacuo still being a ways off, I could easily see Jaune getting in a really tough fight that pushes him to his limits and beyond, finally proving himself as a warrior and hero but in the process his sword is damaged beyond repair. Jaune, although sad about the loss of the sword, would see it in a way that Pyrrha's faith in him and his abilities has now been realized, and Jaune is able to stand tall as a proud warrior with his own merits. It would be at this point or shortly after that Jaune would take up the 'Sword of Destruction' and continue to grow stronger as both a fighter and a leader (This is the one I would really like to have happen)
      As for Jaune being related to the King, I deliberately didn't go into that as well since I feel it warrants its own video but basically I feel that if Ozpin had kids in his previous reincarnations, even if in only some of the reincarnations, his descendants from each reincarnation would likely still be alive in the current story. Now depending on how long Ozpin has been reincarnating for (possibly thousands of years) a large portion of the population would have some (even if very distant) genetic relation to a previous reincarnation of Ozpin's. Since Oz has stated that each soul is combined and transferred to the next host, keeping all of the memories intact, if Ozpin were to continue falling in love and having Kids, I would think he would want to find someone he has no relation to, because having a kid with someone while also having the soul and memory of their ancestor inside his head just sounds a bit odd to me even though there wouldn't be any issues on a genetic level. It could be possibly though if the King of Vale had a brother who eventually passed on the sword and the King just didn't have children.

    • @PhoenixNight
      @PhoenixNight  6 лет назад +1

      @animalia you make an excellent point, from the sounds of it Jaune's family has been hiding a lot from him and trying to keep him from learning about the world. that could be due to his relation to the King and that he might be in danger if people knew what he could be capable of. Not to mention his families wealth as zeb jensen mentioned, which could a remnant of his families ties to Royalty.

      @Phoenix Night Seriously NINE FAMILY MEMBERS (A Dad and a Mom and Seven Sisters) and NOT ONE of them was supportive of his dream? This seems kind of betting against the law of averages. Especially in what has OTHERWISE been portrayed (from when Jaune talks about them, like when talking about the trips to Shion) as a loving supportive family. We don't get the hints of distress that growing up in an emotionally abusive household like Weiss would have caused. (I like the character so I try to be wary of what I think) But I get the feeling that his family was trying to "gently" discourage him. Hoping if he was told he didn't have the potential, and never got proper training, it would keep him out of danger without either scaring him OR scarring him to much.
      IF this IS the case IT backfired on BOTH fronts. Jaune still longed to (at first) be a hero (and later) genuinely help people enough to take the risk. And rather then not being able to pass admission, or eventually getting kicked out do to is lack of training like they had hoped. His natural tactical ability caught Ozpin's eye, and then he caught .Pyrhha's eye who managed to give enough training to catch up. So he is in Danger ANYWAYS. The half-hearted attempt failed on the approach of keeping him safe. As for not scarring him? Well the half-hearted approach failed there to, as it is clear to anyone who knows him that Jaune suffers from CRIPPLING Self-Esteem issues. So yeah good job there #sarcasm
      Maybe it's me but before the series ends I wonder if ONE of the main themes of Ruby will be the importance of honesty and trust. I mean seriously how many of the problems in this series could be solved of the people in this series were just honest both with each other and themselves?

      @@PhoenixNight all right there is a lot to talk about. First off as far as the sword is concerned it still could be a relic. For one the black Smith baring changing the guard did all his work on the shield. Mostly all that was done to the sword itself was ethstetic.
      Also I was thinking that maybe jaunes sword is the base or middle if you would. So what is in the vault is the outter casing.
      And I have to also admit you make a few good points. Namely the fact that the sword may transform or Maybe his sword will become the relic but is not right now. Or the sword in the vualt is a fake and jaune had it the whole time. I doubt that last one but who knows.
      As for oz being the king and having kids. Well firstly he could have fallen in love sure. But assuming that oz did merge with someone in between the ages on ten and twenty the prince or king most likely already had a betroted wife to marry or already was at that point. You have to remember that nobility procticed arranged marriages a lot so if oz was the king he probably did not have a choice in marrege if the merged before he got the thrown.
      Second. Say he again dose merge with the king. Depending on any existing age limit oz may have merged vafter the king had a wife and child on the way. As if it's anything like real life monarchy earily marreges at even fifteen or less was commen.
      Lastly on that this is my own opinion. We are assuming oz was the king. But what if he was just a puppet master and playing a role similar to Merlin in king arthore court as an adviser or commander. Rather then the main guy in charge. And honestly that seems more Oz's style of leadership.
      As for jaunes family they could have alteriaer motivs. Or maybe they just did not want him to get hurt. Or heck maybe they just did not realize how much work goose into being a huntsman.
      All I know is that he is likely loaded as you never once hear him talking about Money. So ether he was thought to work for his money for he is just that humble. Ether way veven if he himself is not nobility his family likely vhas ties to nobility. Ether in terms of beings knights or some other form of associate. And there is also the possibility that his family vwas just a group vof lesser nobiles who had great investment skills.
      Also I would be happy to support your channel if you want to talk about it on Facebook or something.

    I think if Ruby uses her Silver Eyes to beat her Grimm half, and have Jaune strike her with the Relic of Destruction to defeat her immortal half they can potnetially take down Salem. Interesting, however, as we've seen more recently, Juane's sword can now "transform". Also Juane never had the grades to enter the school, nor was he taught by a huntsman, so him not forging his own weapon(s) isn't difficult to deduce.
    I believe the World of Remnant's "kingdoms" are in name only. From everything we've seen, each kingdom is ruled by a council & not a monarch. Even if non-ruling monarchs do exist, they've never been referenced, nor their bloodlines. The only possible mention of nobility was Juane mockingly calling Weiss "Ice Queen" (not only because of her haughty attitude, but because her family's wealth & influence make her the closest thing to nobility thus far in the series).

    Jaune's sword was his great-grandfater's. If he was the king of Vale someone would have pointed that out already. Sure, we already have a precedent with Blake's parents suddenly being important, but I hope M&K don't repeat the same mistyake twice. To me, Jaune's great-grandfather was just one amongst thousands of soldiers in that war. Not an important guy, maybe the hero of the neighboorhood at most.
    Especially since the sword depicted in the WoR doesn't look like Crocea Mors. Like at all. Crocea Mors is a double-edged sword and a shield, while the sword the king of Vale used was a single-edged sword. Sure, it could have been modified over time, like Jaune did by including some of Pyrrha's metal, but come on. Also, if the swords are the same, why would anyone let Jaune, of all people, carry it? That's like giving a nuke that everyone wants to a toddler.
    It's just a basic sword. Otherwise Ruby would have had a stronger reaction to it when she saw it, but her reaction was just "eh, it's okay".

    • @PhoenixNight

      I think they might be going the route that everyone's family is important, with the Schnee family, Summer Rose will likely be important, Raven was a maiden and as you mentioned Blake's parents who are now leaders of the new Faunus organization. Jaunes parents might not be that important but his family history might be.
      I agree that Jaune's sword itself likely isn't the one the King of Vale used but if it isn't then I do believe Jaune will eventually get the sword that he used at some point.
      You make a good point though, why would his family let Jaune have that sword if it was so important.
      I dunno about Ruby though, she seems more into the over the top kind of weapons that transform. She asked Jaune 'What does it do' when looking at his shield and was unimpressed that it just collapsed, but I could be wrong lol

      Jaune's family giving him the sword actually makes sense. As far as they knew he got accepted into Beacon. (Even though he faked it) so they wouldn't argue with an official transcript. They'd be to proud since his family came for hero's and would assume it was bound to happen. And Jaune may be clumsy but he's very intelligent and a great leader. And always was. I'm sure if we can see that his family can.

      His sister's were probably supportive but his parent's told him 'Don't worry if you fail and have to come back home'. They might have seen potential in him but they didn't want him to become a hero for some reason, and if this theory is true, it's because they want to hide Jaune's ancestry from him to protect him

      You do realize why thats ridiculous right? Just from a writing standpoint there is literally no way that Jaune's ancestor was just some ordinary dude. It's set up as a mystery. One to be revealed later. The very reason something is set up as a mystery at all is because it's important and will have a huge impact on the story later. If he were just some ordinary dude. There would be no point in it being a mystery. Because then theres no reveal. If the information were insignificant they'd just tell us upfront. Not to mention theres another reason him being ordinary is impossible. Right from the beginning it's alluded to that Jaune might be special what with his massive aura reserves and combined with the knowledge that each of the men in his family have all been Legendary Warriors they must have been incredibly powerful based on that alone.
