He was always going to die there. Hazel, a brute who doesn't necessarily want to fight, suited Haven. I'd wager it was only V5's terrible production cycle that kept him alive. Likewise, Tyrian is the sneaky trickster perfect for the shady place that Vacuo is. He will meet his end there, I imagine.
Cinder was intended for Vale, yet Vale has always held more importance. Therefore, so has Cinder.

Having the grimm around after the ending would make sense as the saying goes "For good to be balanced and have meaning there must be an evil to counterbalance it"
Also it would be interesting to see how RWBY Sequel might work maybe say... set it like 20 or 30 years in the future and focus on the children of our former main characters kind of like Boruto.
Speaking of the relics I have a theory on how the relic of destruction works.
Because every relic has a spirit in it, I think the sword would work similary to a shinigami's zanpato from Bleach since those swords have a living spirit in them specifically Aizen's zanpato which casts illusions he can manipulate at will onto anyone who lays eyes on the sword which would make sense on how the King of Vale manage to slay so many enemies on the battlefield.

  • @shiahplum21

Yo that's pretty interesting! I agree that Salem being striped of her immortality and being turned into the ultimate grimm monster wouldn't be a satisfying resolution to her character, but that's defs a cool possibility to think about / consider. Ever Salem has a balance to her character, being both the wicked witch of the west and cinder's fairy godmother - there's still some humanity in her and I too crave her story arch to have a satisfying end.
Also hella agree that the grimm being wiped from remnant shouldn't be how things go. I realize it's an option but huntsmen and huntresses becoming obsolete would be so dissatisfying. I feel like the only member of team RWBY to still have a passion and purpose after that would be Blake who would follow in her dad's footsteps and become a Faunus leader of some kind. The other three would probably feel incredibly lost and unsure of what to do with themselves. I want to see a world in which the grimm still exist but humanity is making strides against them while beginning to rebuild from the wreckage Salem caused, with Ruby living out her dream. She deserves that much.
Cinder being the final villain is definitely a possibility but I don't know that it'll be what happens. Thinking about her arc you're definitely correct in that she's been consumed ever since Ruby defeated her at Beacon. She's completely obsessed with becoming more powerful. She's honestly a baby Salem - something unfair happened to her in her youth and she's let that consumer her and drive the direction of the rest of her life. She's become part grimm like Salem as well, but this just leads me to believe that she'll die before Salem still and her death will teach Salem the value of life and death. At least I hope that's what happens, it'd be a great resolution for Salem's character.
I agree Ozma will pass on by the end of the series. Oscar is too wonderful of a character on his own to be consumed by Oz's soul. Besides! We all wanna see him and Ruby get together and Oz being in the picture would make things awkward to say the least.
I've been thinking though, if the Gods choose to wipe humanity again, wouldn't the Faunus survive? Last time it was only humans who were wiped while other animals survived. Faunus aren't humans, so wouldn't they be untouched? Them also not being direct creations of the Gods would also support this. It's entirely possible that humans will perish and Faunus will continue on. Then we'd have characters like Blake and Sun up against Tyrian. It'd be interesting (though I'm sure many would be upset about an ending like this).

A well written Salem ending has great potential, but I see no real potential in a cinder ending because cinders very one dimensional.

Salem got bodied by her own henchman in her first real on screen battle, had the relic snatched from under her nose by a semi-relevant decafinated Harley Quinn, was dead for the latter portion of the volume she was supposed to be "doing it herself" and only came back after her "lackluster" hench..girl completed 50% of her entire end goal for her.

@@yuukichan12 Difference is cinder is a poor character, matter of fact she has no character. Cinder gets slapped every volume and she couldn't even get the maiden powers which were her aims. At the end of the day Salem achieved her goal though manipulating cinder and without Salem cinder would be nothing. As for Salem getting bodied, that's just poor writing

    • @yuukichan12
      @yuukichan12 2 года назад +1

@@aryasuperstark9599 Cinder's merit as a character is subjective, idc how "poor" of a character you think she is. Also, saying a character as divisive as her has no character doesn't make too much sense. Something has to be there to make fans hate her so passionately. Otherwise, we have a Fandom of crazy people...well, people seem to find Neo...who barely has a personality, interesting so nvm.
Anyway, if Salem was written to get her ass handed to her, she still objectively got her ass handed to her. The quality of the writing doesn't change the fact that it happened in the series. Cinder manipulated Neo into getting the relic of knowledge for her, in order to gain favor from Salem. She took credit for something she didn't actually do, and that's the same for Salem. Difference is, Cinder isn't the main antagonist of the series who is supposed to be feared by all, whereas Salem is the de facto big bad. The standard isn't the same. Salem showed up, got a relic, lost the relic by getting tricked by her henchwoman's henchwoman, got beat up by one of her own generals and was dead while a character largely considered to be a joke did the hard work for her. She accidentally won. Idc that she won in the end, nothin she did directly led to that conclusion. She has done nothing of note since her debut that makes her a legitimate threat. And I fail to see how her unsympathetic background makes her any more compelling than her underlings.
Speaking of her underlings: they all take Ls. Literally all of them. Cinder has a higher success rate than her peers based solely off of how frequently she pops up. At least she loses to actually powerful opponents. Tyrian lost in his first and second fights, the former by getting his ass cut off by a 16 year old. Hazel got beat up by Nora and impaled by Weiss, then lost off screen. Watts got tricked by Ironwood in his first big showing and was dumb enough to trust that a girl who hates him will swoop in and save his ass instead of leave. I just refuse to sit back and pretend like any one character is so much worse than the other's when what's shown on the screen doesn't support it.

@@yuukichan12 No cinder has the highest failure rate, I count one bit of success and that was getting the maiden powers in V3, after that I see 5 volumes of pure failure and a character who continues to regress. Getting bodied every volume is cinder meme online, Raven Penny Winter the list goes on, Ruby giving her the silver eyes treatment whenever she feels like it is actually hilarious lol.
There's no subjective when it comes to cinders character, the public are judge jury and executioner and the majority can't stand cinder. I spend quite a bit of time in the Ruby forums and the name cinder is synonymous with being a joke and laughable. Sure you get one or two who simp for this poorly written character like yourself, but that's just an anomaly.
As for Neo she has charisma, something that cinder lacks in abundance. I tell you what cinder reminds me of, a cartoon villain for children which are between the ages of 6 and 10 years old. A villain that doesn't need any character depth, any personally , no real motivation, she's just evil for the sake of being evil. Let me guess cinder you want the maiden powers, I would never of guessed, Cinders dialogue is repetitive as hell, she's like a broken record.
I don't see what anyone could like in this character, even her Voice actor is sub par and monotone, completely boring. So go ahead, root for cinder all you want, you ain't going to change my opinion on her, she represents everything I hate when it comes to anime characters

@@aryasuperstark9599 You've managed to boil down the entirety of my comment to "Cinder sucks and you're a simp". Impressive. But just to let you know, you can appreciate a character without simping for them. But I'm fully aware of the type of fan I'm dealing with here so I don't expect that fact to truly stick.
"There's no subjective when it comes to Cinder's character" is such an asinine and childish statement that I don't even want to touch it but, fuck, here we go. Just because a large majority of the fandom are of the opinion that the character is trash, it doesn't make it a fact. That makes it a popular opinion. Even if it's just "one or two" (uh huh...sure) people who disagree with the sentiment, the fact that they have been presented with the same exact character in the same exact show taking the same exact actions, behaving in the same exact manner and have managed to reach a totally different conclusion, inherently means that "Cinder sucks" isn't an objective fact. It's a subjective opinion. Albeit a prevalent one.
Now, go back and look at the rest of the antagonists and tell me about success and failure. Because the only ones who've won a direct fight was Tyrian against...Clover? With help from Qrow?? And Hazel against his own boss. Our main antagonist btw. Oh wait, didn't he and Tyrian kill some random huntsman offscreen in Mistral. Anyway, I'll give Watts a pass for losing to Ironwood; his true strength isn't in physical combat afterall, and he was a big help in Beacon and Atlas. That being said, the genius character being outwitted by both Ironwood and Cinder in the last 2 volumes takes some points off. Cinder may not have achieved her personal goal of getting the last two maiden powers but her track record of wrecking the heroes' lives and plans is pretty damn solid. Her personality flaws get in the way of herself and Salem but in the end, the only people who have dealt more damage to the protagonists are...the protagonists themselves. When she shows up for a big moment, someone on the heroes side is guaranteed to make an exit. That can't even be said for Salem herself....and she's faced 4 of them 😒
I watch this show, same as you. I just don't hyperfocus on the flaws of characters I hate and ignore the failures of the ones I don't.
Side note: Neo _had_ charisma. When she had Roman to bounce off of. Since her return, her personality isn't there. She's doesn't feel like a character who can successfully stand on her own because she was never meant to. She used to be fun. And I get that losing Roman would take her out of the mood for fun but "I want Ruby dead, eyeroll, skip skip, ugh I don't like you, kill Ruby now?" is surface level personality. Brief moments where she's twisting Cinder's ass kind of hit the mark.I ended up reading Roman Holiday and it reminded me of the little sociopathic gremlin I used to love to watch. Of course, that is all my opinion and I actually do have hope her character to improve...or well, die in V9.

More likely that cinder will be a grim maiden, just like the silver eyes monster. She is so obsessed with power, she wil be comsumed by it. If she does get killed, to spite salem. The last one she thinks of will not be salem.

My greatest fear will happen if they transform Salem back into a human and, as she realizes all the damage she has done and comes into terms with herself, Cinder backstab her under some power monologue and turns to be the final villain 😪

Great three part theory video. It is very good and I can see most of this happening in some way shape and form. Plus I would love to see more videos of the last Cinder fight and possible sequel series. That said I think there are some thing you may have over looked. First and foremost, Even without the grimm the hunters would still have jobs just none that focus on Grimm. As stated in the world of remnant video and in volume 7, Hunters do many different types of jobs such as dealing with criminals. After all, some have auras and semblances making them have superpowers so basically Rwby becomes like My hero.
Second, I fully agree that Cinder while be the final boss, maybe a big bad second to final boss that does go resident evil style grimm transform in a true monster. This is mainly become if the gods do leave and take the magic with them Cinder is instantly dead because the grim inside her kills her. I say this because there is strong evidence that points to that the only way a grimm hybrid can live is if the destructive nature of the grimm is counter by Magic or silver eye powers, Salem and the hound. Not to mention when Cinder Stole the powers she had to put on the glove first and it only fused with her after the bug grimm started to absorb the maiden powers. So no way she could be the final boss. Plus I would also love to see Cinder hulk out only to be killed by Ruby Neo or Jaune, maybe even Emerald as a act of pity love, and Ruby becoming the Fall Maiden. Team maiden Rwby.
As for the possible future series of RWBY, Well if it isn't a prequel, than I think you are right that the stacks are going to be a lot lower because the are some issued with how some ideas would work. Example, The new worlds would be awesome to see but can only be done if the relics, magic and possible the gods stay since with your theory of the gods taking the magic away there would be no way to go to those other worlds, Vault close for go without the relic in them and the maidens are the only ones that can open them. So for the other world to happen magic and relic need to stay at least.
However, there maybe something that could be worse than Salem after she is dealt with. You see, I have an Idea that the god of darkness may pull a fast one on everyone. Picture this, After they have their talk out of final fight, see my comment in previous video, They convince the gods to leave and even get rid of the grimm Pools. But the God of darkness is tricky and clever and may go, "There will be no more pools of grimm and no more grimm will spawn from them. You can deal with the rest." Which they agree with thinking now the grimm have a fixed number and over time the grimm will be wiped out. But notice I said the god of darkness said there are no more pools of grimm not that he destroyed them. I think that it is possible the GD will turn the remaining pools of grimm into giant Grimm, colossal grimm that as we all know can spawn other grimm which would lead to a RWBY series that is like Monster hunter, Where the new hunter, or even an older team RWBY go out to find and destroy these new type of Grimm. No immortal witches or races to collect magic artifacts, Just trying to save the world for Remnant's oldest enemy given new life. Speaking of oldest, the other options is with Salem gone, The first Grimm, the oldest strongest and most dangerous thing smartest Grimm awaken to try to wipe out humanity. After all, old grimm are smart and know when to hold down and when to attack and with Salem, the only thing they can't kill gone, whats their to stop them.... I just want to see Human level smart grimm that can use weapons and somehow developed something like aura and semblance from evolving.
But that's just my thoughts on the matter.

I feel like the silver eyes and any other genetic magical abilities would still remain even after the gods leave Remnant. Like aura and semblances, the silver eyes are an inherent part of the person who has them. I doubt their power would just fizzle out like that

The way I see it is, that the gods will leave and take not just the immortality of Salem but also her soul and Ozma's soul allowing them to rest. But what that would do would leave behind the shell of Salem as a grimm with all her powers, except for magic because the gods would have taken that, but she has the knowledge and ability to create and command grimm, which would cause a final war to take her down. She might use the remaining grimm pools to create more powerful grimm to fight. Cinder might be taken out in that final war by Neo and Jaune, while team RWBY faces Salem along with some others.

I think Cinder will be abandoned by Salem. I think Salem will realize (if she hasn't already) that Cinder has been going behind her back and is lying through her teeth for her own goals instead of Salem. I used to think that Salem would kill her, but I hope not because I want one of the heroes (Jaune, Ruby, maybe Neo?) to be the one or one of the ones to take her out officially. If Salem gets rid of her, I think that is going to cause her to lose it even more because it means she basically lost her biggest resource to finding the power she so desperately craves. She knows she can't beat Salem on her own so she'll basically just end up being this third party villain that might be easier to take out. There's nothing stopping her from going immediately after Ruby and then there's Cinder's final confrontation. It would be interesting if Cinder did survive until the end to see her become the new alpha Grimm though. I just don't think she's "final boss" material. I don't think she's been set up that way. I think she's written to die betrayed by the power she wants.

I've often thought about a RWBY reboot. RWBY as a true Sci-fi series or a true Fantasy series. Same characters and plot, but they take place in a pure Sci-Fi or pure Fantasy series with some minor changes, like different romance pairings (Dragonslayer and Black Sun) and some minor changes to a characters back story (Jaune going to combat school and Ren and Nora having parents) and some new additions (Jaune being a Dragon Rider and Blake becoming a Werecat). If there ever was another RWBY project, I'd like to see it as a pure Sci-Fi series or pure Fantasy

Okay, I have thought this through and I have my own theory. If the gods leave the people of Remnant to their own devices, after their discussion with team RWBY with the answer: “We may not be fully united for peace, but we all can make the world a better place,” Salem leaves with Ozma’s spirit to go to the afterlife, freeing Oscar of his curse of merging souls, while the dark god gives the Grimm free will instead of leaving them to a new master. This could end up with Cinder throwing a ‘bloody murder’ tantrum - since she no longer has the maiden power and she still desires to become the world’s most powerful - and RWBY and a few more would have to fight her. But if there is a incarnation with the dark god’s power that was passed down in a cycle of life and death, and that person was supposed to be Cinder’s ‘Prince Charming’, he would sacrifice himself by using a forged dark weapon to kill both him and Cinder and they would have lived happily ever after in the after life. May be ridiculous, but it’s my theory.

I would actually be interested to see cinder as the final villain. You saying of her becoming the embodiment of hate, power hunger, etc. Reminds me of how Blake was talking to Sun about people being the personification of words. IMO Cinder started as the embodiment of Confidence, she was in control of the fall of vale. Then she became the embodiment of Megalomaniac (power hungry), now after volume eight id say she’s back in the realm of being the personification of confidence. But this is just my opinion.

It hat nothing with the video in Connect, but that is some thoughts when a have because of Salem and magic in general: When I first saw RWBY und heard about semblances I thought not really about it. Them after I see the God of Darkness destroy Everything I thought "Wait. Then Semblances can be the Remnants of Magic of the Old History" and then I remembered the Silver Eyes and you Video about and thought "Wouldn't it be Interesting when Ruby actually doesn't have a semblance BECAUSE it function as Anti-Magic?" And When we're expanded further, we can make so, that the Silver Eyes actually don't just petrified Grimms, but also Deactivate the Semblances and other Magic as well, Like Qrow in his Bird form would become Human or Weiss don't can Use Glyphs when Ruby use it etc. That would Force Ruby to Train more with her Aura with someone that the Semblances is not that Good like Qrows and expand the Limits of Aura
Is just a Idea, but what you think about it? To Much?

I love this theory, and I think Remnant isn't Remnant without the Grimms, this is a particularity of this world and taking it out would make it feel empty to me. So I'd love to see the Gods leave Remnant forever, but letting it as it is with the Grimms would be part of a deal with Ruby, if she's the one who summon the Gods. But they would take magic and the Relics. But if they take magic, the Maidens wouldn't exist anymore, and since their power is linked to their Aura does that mean they would die ? So Cinder couldn't be the last boss, unless someone takes her power before... And Raven, Winter, and the Summer Maiden would die too maybe. I don't know how it'll be played out but I'm curious !
If they take out the magic, maybe the Maidens will be the last one to be able to use magic, and when they die the power will disappear with them and never be transferred again. So it could be possible for Cinder to use her magic to be a threat to humanity, until she dies. Then the world would enter a peaceful area (still with the Grimms tho).
I'd love to see all of our characters have a future on this world, see how they'll evolve, with who, where they'll live... I don't know what to expect but with your theory, I can imagine team RWBY being united to fight Cinder and the Grimms. They could be together in the same area, or live in different places and organize the protection of the world where they are (maybe Blake (and Yang ?) at Menagerie, Weiss in a new Atlas (?), Ruby kinda on her own travelling or at Vale, idk). I'm really curious for all of that.
I think it would let the story uncomplete to let Salem and Ozma stay with their curse, and even if she doesn't deserve it, Salem needs to have an end and to disappear. I don't know how it'll end for her but I don't see her stay alive on Remnant even if the Gods are summoned. Maybe the Gods will decide another punishment for her : staying alive but not on Remnant, being condamned to be alone between the realms, so she'll be trapped forever. And Ozma would finally be able to rest in the afterlife. Or, since it's still really harsh as an end even after what she's done, maybe they'll just let her in the afterlife to rest and stop being a threat to humanity (maybe thanks to Ruby who will remind them life needs to be protected and there's no need letting Salem do that, so it's more important to let people live their life than letting Salem suffer (despite she has an horrible behavior with the Gods) and make suffer all humanity.
I'm really hyped and inspired, there's a lot to tell ! I always enjoy your videos and theories because there's a lot we can imagine from it :)

The possibilities to the outcome are vast, and I cannot for certain say what it will be, but if the threat of the Grimm will be removed from Remnant, I can make a very certain guess as to how it will continue on from there: With the Grimm removed, the need for Huntsmen will decrease rapidly, causing a lot of them to face poverty. Humanity, as always, does not see need to help these former protectors of their lives. A rift opens up between the Huntsmen and the people. Unrest, leading to violence. The kingdoms, as we saw before, never truly had any armed forces, besides Atlas, but those were obliterated by Salem, the only forces they truly possessed being a handful of Huntsmen that truly were loyal to them, the rest usually being independent Huntsmen, or those under partial control of the academy headmasters. The kingdoms, rightfully fearing an insurrection by the restless Huntsmen, would try to subtly deal with them, taking away their weapons and eliminating the threat that way. This, of course, would only last a short while until the Huntsmen figure out what is going on, and by that time, you'd have Huntsmen across the world, fighting against the kingdoms. A grand, World wide war amongst human and Faunus, that would probably lead to the fall of all four kingdoms, and the installation of Huntsmen controlled governments across the map. What happens after that? Who knows...

Cinder being the final enemy could very well happen, the way Cinder kept showing up in volume 7 and 8 makes me think of her as a recurring boss fight, each time getting a bit harder to defeat. For example during the final battle against Salem and her forces, Cinder will be at her mental limit, she finally kills Ruby proving to herself she was always destined to win, but Ruby(or Team RWBY) will defeat her and she'll go down for a time. Team RWBY moves on to confront Salem and the brothers's judgement. They save the day but in that time Cinder loses her sanity, mind and body almost all Grimm by that point and attacks Team RWBY while their guard is down but before she can kill them Juane, Neo, Ren, and Nora jump in for a final round with Cinder. Weakening her to the point where either Juane, Neo, or Ruby will deliver the coup de gras/ the final blow.

Regarding the Grimms, if it is confirmed that the pools are finite and that a disintegrating Grimm is not "recycled", then it would mean Grimms could be wiped out.
Humanity would then need to answer this question: do we NEED to completely wipe out Grimms ?
Because as you said, without them, all the academies become senseless. Another world structure would be needed. I wouldn't mind going into this direction, ending with something close to Earth's humanity simply with aura and semblances as a bonus :)

  • @Cazammaf

I actually have my own interesting theory which may be feasible. So, I think at some point, the gods will be brought back to Remnant. However, I think the god of light and god of darkness will clash over humanity whilst judging them. They will argue both of their reasons as to what they think should happen to humanity, Remnant, the grim and of course, Salem. They could start to fight, to properly battle and start accidentally destroying the world. In that case, Oscar will be fully merged at this point and so he will be talking as if he is Ozpin, which he will be in a sense. He will try to reason with the gods and tell them to look at what they're doing. They are destroying their own creation. He may explain to them everything he has done to prevent Salem from destroying the planet himself, for millennia etc. Then Ruby will talk to them and also explain her side about humanity getting better, learning, the faunus species evolving, Auras, Semblances, kingdoms and families and friends blossoming... and saying to them that humanity isn't perfect, but that's what makes them unique, nothing can be perfect, they are also fallible, and that they don't need the gods anymore and should be left to their own devices etc. And that even though there is corruption in the world in the form of criminals, gangs and the grimm, that's why they are there. To help make the world a better place, like Ruby once said all those years ago. Then the gods decide what happens and they may lay Salem and Ozma to rest, releasing Oscar to live his own life free of Ozma's soul. Or maybe like you said, Salem gets stripped of her immortality, the gods leave and then a big final fight ensues. Or maybe when the gods fight, they weaken each other to the point that Salem can kill them. Orrrr they actually destroy one another. Who knows! But that's just my theory.

I really don't mind who the final villain is tbh, I really do hope that RWBY & Co. tell the Gods to fk off cause they deserve to be turned away after their actions & abandonment of Remnant. Even better if RWBY & Co. come across other Gods in their travels in the other world, like the "God of Animals" that ally with them to some degree (perhaps not fighting but in terms of granting favor/protection) and actually act like good benevolent Gods, instead of petty and vindictive types that the Brothers are.
I definitely see them doing a follow-up series, considering how popular RWBY is and rich the world is. Though in that case RWBY would be the franchise name, while the series likely brings in a new team w/ possible cameos from OG team. Something I'd absolutely root for since I love this show, the world, and want to see them continued going forward just with a new batch of characters to get to know with new stories to tell.
With that ^ in mind, I could see the dive into other worlds leading to potentially other villains down the line. Though that depends on the inhabitants of the other worlds once they're shown. Its definitely something that could even be used as a tie-in to the IQ series, where its seemingly hinting at another world and a potentially dark Weiss. That it could even be expanded into an entire network of worlds with all kinds of different beings and alternative paths for characters, including some going villain.
Though I could also see nations of Remnant having conflicts and potentially having that be at the core of a follow-up series to a point anyway. Similar to Avatar and the Fire Nation going around trying to take over the world, especially given both the history of Remnant in terms of disagreements leading to wars as well as having bandit tribes/criminal organizations that may want to step up to bigger aims. There's a massive power vacuum left behind now that Atlas/Mantle as a nation is gone.

    Ending Proposal:
Salem nearly achieves victory, but the Gods listen to a smaller, simpler soul politely asking them to clean up the mess and let people live their lives. Salem loses her immortality, Ozma gets his rest (Which means despite his accord with Ozma, Oscar gets saved) and the Gods depart*... which just leaves the problem of 'how do we deal with the mortal ancient witch?' Salem gets the upper hand, and gets rather literally stabbed in the back by Cinder draining her for all the magic she can get. (The Gods said it will die with their holders, Cinder's drain bypasses that because the Gods are pretty stupid.) Salem is left weak and helpless by Cinder specifically as payback for the taunting she received from Salem, while Cinder rushes for the pools to take a dip for more power (because she's mad with power now.) After a bit of regret from Salem, she's executed because no one is so stupid as to leave Salem alive. (or she expires from earlier wounds if the writers can't be adults about it.) But since Cinder isn't cursed with immortality, going for a dip in the Grimm Goo just leaves a monster wearing a mask in the shape of her face, one without aura or magic. (After all, Cinder Fall died and the magic goes with her.) One dispatched with contemptuous ease because giving up her humanity did her no favors in the power department, and no amount of Grimm spam is going to matter at that point.
The world needs rebuilding, given that literally every kingdom was destroyed and new hunter academies need to be made/staffed. In essence, the 'happily ever after' they earned was for the world to actually be like they thought it was during volumes 1-2. No immortal chess game, no lurking Gods and apocalypses. Just People, Grimm and Hunters.
*The Gods are asked why they aren't taking the Grimm with them. In the condescending manner one would expect of them, they explain that the Grimm serve a role and provide something to unite against that isn't going to bother the Gods again the way Salem did. The world will always hold dangers, that's how it was designed. Yes, the gods learned the wrong lesson _again_ , but at least this time they're leaving for good. (Hopefully.)
This setup allows for a recognizable world mutable enough to keep telling interesting stories in the setting for the future, while removing the two elements that force huge stakes. (Maidens and the Immortals)

    @MelvinDRosaria 2 года назад +2

I was trying to remember who are even left of Salem's lackies.
    - Hazel betrayed Salem and sacrificed himself to give Oscar the opening to nuke the place.
    - Arthur got left behind by Cinder, in the wish that Cinder made to Ambrosius, to set everything on fire (including the controle systems of Atlas).
    - Emerald joined our main characters, maybe as Oscar's Luitenant, maybe as a new member for team JNLE [Jungle] (to just give the team another type of green instead of JNPR [Juniper]), also I think I already mentioned that *Emerald is basicly the polar opposite of Pyrrha,* with Pyrrha having the necklace with an emerald gem, Emerald having the necklace with a red gem, also other features like the hair and the eyes (pyrrha having green eyes with red hair (and outfit) and Emerald having red eyes with green hair (and outfit), also their weapons of choice where Pyrrha likes to mainly use lances and swords and Emerald mainly her guns, same with their semblances where Pyrrha could use hers on matter (metal) and Emerald can use hers on the minds.
Which leave Salem herself, Mercury, Cinder and Tyrian.
    - Tyrian is rather obvious, as Qrow already stated that he has a bone to pick with Tyrian for both attacking his niece (or daughter, as that theory is still out there) and killing Clover and I can see Robyn being there to support him, as Tyrian already killed some people in Robyn's party during the election. Also I have a fun spin on this fight, which brings me to the next character.
    - Mercury, and Mercury I still think is funny that he got promoted, making Salem's personal team name from WTCH (Watts, Tyrian, Cinder & Hazel), to BTCH (Mercury Black, Tyrian, Cinder and Hazel). Beside that Mercury's current situation is that he is on the way with Tyrian to Vacuo and Mercury doesn't seem to like any of his colleges, no synergy what so ever with anyone, as Mercury thinks that Tyrian is creepy already, Cinder kept them in the dark alot and already confessed that Mercury thinks that Cinder doesn't care about him and Hazel is already dead, Hazel at least did an effort to protect both Mercury and Emerald, but the only one that Mercury had a genuine connection with is Emerald, joking arround and calling Emerald a master thief. So I can see Mercury betraying Salem as well and join Qrow and Robyn in the fight. There is also still alot unknown about Mercury like his semblance, appearently it got stolen by his father and it never returned to him, but hopefully he did get it back, just has a mental block because he never had someone to use it for (as he got recruited by Cinder right after killing his father), so maybe he will unlock it to defend someone like Emerald. One semblance I came up with for him, which would suit an assassin would be simply called *"Stealth"* and it basicly it is what it sounds like, Mercury could walk/jump/kick arround without making any sound and I think this would be extremely usefull agains someone like Tyrian who has really good ears to the point Tyrian can block gunfire from Ruby's sniper rifle without looking, just by hearing her fire.
    - Cinder I really don't like ever since her cheap shot at Weiss, Vernal weared her down and Cinder throwing a spear through her intestines. I wonder if Cinder is just becoming another Hound at this point, with the Grimm parasite slowly taking over. Maybe the encroachment is caused by having no protective aura and it would be fitting for Cinder to be put down like a monster, as any other grimm at that point. She also betrayed alot of people, so I can see alot of people wanting to do the final blow. Ruby for (eventhough Jaune did the final attack) Penny and Pyrrha. Jaune for Pyrrha offcourse. Weiss for stabbing her. Neo for betraying her throughout volume 7 and 8.
    - Salem herself, I can see Oscar trying to take another swing at her, now Oscar is aware that his cane can store kinetic energy and release when needed (basicly Adam's Moonslice on steroids). Team RWBY offcourse wants to stop Salem, but I think the gods themselfs should even out the playing field as this is 100% their fault for making Salem immortal. Maybe we will even get to know more about Summer and she can join in and finish her secret mission, she was stated to be the best of team STRQ.

I actually like the idea of Cinder being the final villain. She is supposed to be "The Wronged" villain who was never given a chance to have a good life because of other people. She was orphaned, turned into a slave, and was betrayed by the only person she has ever trusted. All of the factors in her life that led her down the path of evil were all caused by other people, not Grimm. It would definitely be poetic in a way that humanity's ultimate enemy is itself. Although Cinder would become a human-Grimm hybrid but the point and theme would still work.

Here's what I think will happen in the end of the RWBY series:
Salem will reach her endgame and potentially her goal to die. But Ruby makes her final stand that the gods shouldn't destroy humanity based on their black and white view of things. People have evolved to the point of not needing the gods and are still making their choices to create or destroy. While the gods are considering this, Salem gets mad and fights Ruby. During the fight, Salem soon gets a realization that everything she did wouldn't give her the peace that she desperately wanted after all these centuries. She falls apart emotionally and comes to understand the importance of life and death, lifting her curse. The gods make their final judgement and decided to leave humanity to its own devices, agreeing with Ruby that humanity no longer needs their presence. Before they leave, Ruby is given final words of wisdom for her to lead humanity into a better future, the GoL's gift to undo the pain that Salem currently caused on the affected people, and taking Salem and Ozpin to the afterlife

I, for the most part agree with the theories of late, but I gotta hard disagree with cinder being end game baddie. Imo it's not that cinder doesn't deserve some wins but I'd rather her get an actual redemption in the direction of turning on Salem. Cinders 'battle for power', again Imo, has become her downfall. I understand why she works with Salem, really there was no other choice seeing as up to current Salem is still the top power on the planet. Yes Ozma is reincarnated but like with Oscar he doesn't retain the strength, just the knowledge. Where as Salem retains both. Long rambling comment to say, I hope Cinder has a true redemption and not just 'final fight, go!'.

After watching 6-3, I thought about 4-1 and concluded that the Grimm goo was drying up and then in 6 finale we see her exhausting the rest making her army. WRONG. She somehow relocated the reservoir to the highlands of Solitas to become the Rio Grimm to take down Atlas hard light shield. It did not dry up, it never will, I realized that my conclusion, while valid, was wrong.

I have a few theories on how Ruby's going to end first I don't think Salem's going to be the final boss I think it by now everybody's realize that especially the way they just had her come in and volume seven and she didn't do a thing or that should really do anything in the end besides blast some magic at people like she did with hazel and they'll just blow her away or figure out how to separate her particles before they reform and keep her sealed off for certain amount of years and they'll just live normal huntsman life fighting grim
Another theory I have which is when I know people won't like but I could see the writers of Ruby doing because it just feels like something they would really do is like a Time loop thing where everything just reset at the end and they have to relive all of this but maybe we'll get something like with the ice queen them where Time resets certain events play out differently but somehow certain outcomes still end up the same where a certain character is still end up dying Salem is still there people learn the truth that Salem can't die Ruby lies to someone maybe not in this timeline she doesn't lie to ironwood maybe she lies to Theodore or maybe she ends up trusting Leo and that ends up getting them all caught and they end up having to fight their way away from Salem and then they all get to a certain endpoint and then things loop again
Another theory I have is that at the end is probably going to be summer Salem's probably still has her she's going to turn her evil or try to possess Summer's body and at the end of it they're going to be fighting a salem/grim version of Summer and Ruby or somebody will give the final blow summer will finally die peacefully she'll pass on and say some words to Ruby like Penny did to Winter and then somehow us Penn will figure out how to get out of Oscar's body in the show will end

I don't want Cinder to be the final villain, but I cannot say for the same reasons as most of the comments I see. Similarly as I don't really want to see Salem just simple killed without some form of realisation/growth. I also want Cinder to realise power is not the solution to her problems and hopefully live. (I know that is not popular due to a lot of people being bitter) But with her backstory giving us an explanation as to why she is the way she is, she has honestly become one of my favorite characters.

  • @thatonetemplar
    @thatonetemplar 2 года назад +2

Honestly, your desired ending for how Cinder would die is so ridiculously cringe to me. Not only would Ruby or Jaune never kill anyone like that - it isn't in their character - involving Jaune and Neo is the ultimate third wheel to a rivalry between Cinder and Ruby that is entirely unnecessary. Neo needs to go before Cinder does; she is a non-character who needs to go, and I'm of the mind that that is why she's on the island in V9. To be written out. She's given her fanservice, and now all she's doing is hampering and hijacking Cinder's beats.
And don't even get me started on Jaune and why him being made so crucial to Cinder's end is ridiculous. It'd make more sense if his and Pyrrha's relationship was well written but it was not, and it DEFINITELY wasn't written well enough to justify him carrying that grudge for the ENTIRE series. The Pyrrha shit needs to stop. It's now Volume 9 - she died 4 Volumes ago. That death does not need to be milked for so long.
Otherwise, I agree with the video generally. Cinder tossing her humanity away and taking up the spot as the Grimm leader when Salem is gone makes sense. Personally I'd prefer if she were stripped of all of the power she's pursued and forced to reflect and mend herself, rather than straight up just "Yeah kill her!!!!"
