RWBY Theory - Escaping from another World: Ruby, Jaune and Weiss are the Key

- We all know that in Volume 9 one of the main goals of team RWBY is to escape from this other world and get back to Remnant. The question is, How will they accomplish this? The answer may just lie within themselves...

I still think they could be in the vault under Shade Academy. First of all, the vault in atlas was used as a rubric of sorts for the gateways. Secondly, the exit was set for vacuo, One Way.
It's possible they are wherever oz hid the crown of choice as he did say he made that one particularly hard to find as it also wasn't in the beacon vault
Remember they said Summer Rose never returned, they assumed she is dead but what if she is here in this realm alive. And what was/is Summer Roses semblance? Just a thought.

Apparently her semblance just has to do with roses like ruby’s but i dont think they said anything else
The queen of hearts had a thing for white roses(summers cloak is white)
The one thing that disproves that theory is the fact that Salem knows Summer in some way
People often underappreciate how ridiculously OP Jaune is. His semblance makes him one of the most valuable member of the team and his aura is just ridiculous.
Just quick remembers, for one him and Weiss were able to keep on the ground and compleatly incapacitate a robotic maiden and in second place we saw Jaune's aura brake only ONE time in the entire story (after an attack from Cinder) and he has used that aura to tank the blow from a fricking giant robot's arm; beeing able to do this and walk away should tell how powerful my boy is.
I feel like there's going to be some kind of magic entity on the island like a guardian or something created by the GoL that will send them home after some kind of challenge. Maybe some kind of Sphinx that challenges everyone to a "riddle" about themselves.
If someone in the other realm could help them get back, I think they'd hold off doing so till they were sure they weren't just sending our heroes back to die.
After thinking about it some more Weiss and maybe Neo could actually be key to getting them back. This idea actually ties into the "True Semblance theory", if the other realm is based of Wonderland then one way they could return to Remnant is "through the looking glass" and which characters is closely related to mirrors? Weiss and Neo that's who. With Weiss my theory is that her Semblance will evolve to where she can create new glyphs, summoning up a "mirror glyph" which acts as a portal. Or Neo's "Overactive imagination" boosted by Jaune's "aura amp" could imagine up said mirror/portal back home. Long shot I know but maybe it could work.
In Castlevania Season 3, while in the Infinite Corridor, St. Germaine saw a world with a broken moon and a strange airship powered by something similar to Dust. Maybe team RWBY could go through the Infinite Corridor to get back to Remnant, though they might have to fight Dracula before they get there.

Ruby did use her semblance in V8, when she took everyone and flew into the vault to get to the relic as soon as possible. They also did mention that the vaults were outside of Remnant, so...
I don't know if I've ever commented on a previous video of yours but I just wanted to say I really like how you say the word "out".
Characters being in jail and then the key being dropped in their cell immediately made me think of Dark Souls.
Raven's Semblance seems like it could probably reach Yang, provided that they're in the same physical dimension and time period. Raven didn't seem to be inconvenienced by portaling from Haven to Patch, which would appear to indicate that the portals aren't affected by distance. The real complications come from Raven herself. She wouldn't have much reason to go looking for Yang, since Yang most likely would be somewhere Salem or the Relics are. And even if Raven found herself traveling to Yang, it's unlikely she would want to return to Remnant at all, as her current goal is to stay as far away from Salem as possible. In fact, the most likely reason Raven would return would be hearing that Yang is presumed dead and realizing that her semblance can still reach her from some location that is unlikely for others to find.
I agree. The whole point of Raven's semblance is that it defies the normal laws of physics to begin with, so I don't see why distance should necessarily be an issue for it. Plus, as Phoenix specifically outlined (and then brushed aside), none of the instances where we've seen Raven use her semblance had any suggestion that it took any significant amount of effort or aura to use. Especially true of the one at the end of volume 5, since her aura had to be considerably depleted by then.
@@Wolfeson28 especially when you consider the amount of time it would've been for them between episodes, i feel like Raven would have her aura regenerated (although that's also not knowing how often she actually uses the portal)
I think there is a far more tragic way for Raven's semblance to be handled rather than just saying that she can't. We know from V2 that she has to have a way to know if one of her links is in trouble. She also may be able to determine if a link is really far away or at least something abnormal. So theory time, she notices something amiss, teleports to Yang(maybe with Ty), its awkward but Yang is happy to get out of there. She teleports them to Qrow and that's when they learns the others are still stuck down there. Now the one down side is that everyone who didn't fall would know they are alive, but at the same time they'd have no way to get to them which would still keep some tragedy.
In support: Blake seems to also have teleportation abilities? Maybe she can combine in the mix of movement ability you’ve identified. Neo actually teleports in a very SIMILAR way in combat to Blake. And Yang’s semblance seems to multiply her aura in relation to the damage she takes, so she also has a way to produce more aura than the average person, offering her as another “battery” in addition to Jaune.
In critique: you downplay the Raven portal solution because semblances and auras probably don’t work outside Remnant. But the solution you offer is a combination of everyone’s semblances and auras while they’re outside Remnant? Both can’t be true.

Like, if this was the case then wouldn't Weiss of gotten an explanation of "how glyphs work" like how Ruby got an explanation of her "molecular breakdown"?
For me, I think the most likely thing is that Ruby and the rest will overcome their own hurdles, and in time will figure out an answer that is not a teleportation semblance.
No one ever needed to. Who would be stupid enough to explain how a Schiee semblence works?
The thing is that right now you have a person who is a capable stragiest who sees the strengths and flaws of his team and in this case its his former crush and best friend.
And something tells me the only way Juane is going to figure out the possibilities of Wiess Semblence is if he has some time alone with her to actually speak to her about it. Its not like they don't have time.
The other would be Neo but I have a feeling until they figure it out.
Juane will be trying to avoid Ruby trying to gut him for killing Penny and Wiess is the only one that knows what happened.
I want Jaune's semblance and aura to improve in a way that only affects him.

@@rileylupus4781 What Vine means is that Jaune should use his aura to attack from a distance. Amplifying his own aura will make any of his attacks very powerful.
Huh. I was thinking he would amp and extend his sword. Kinda like how Leon does in Kingdom Hearts. Or it could be Remnant's answer to Lightsabers
Maybe Raven's semblance would be easier to use from within the Mistral vault, which was left open and which she can open with her maiden powers even if it had been closed. Also, Raven opening up a portal is not something that would "just happen." First they'd have to locate her, and Yang already spent several years trying to do that. Second, they'd have to convince her to want to use her semblance that way, which, is probably not going to be as easy as when Yang asked her to teleport her to Qrow. She opened it for Yang, but right now the only one who MIGHT have a chance at convincing her in Remnant to try is Tai, so they'd first have to find Raven, fail at convincing her, then find Tai and ask him to ask her, then find Raven again, and then have her fail directly from remnant, then get someone to come up with the idea to try from inside the Mistral vault, go there, try, and hopefully succeed... all while dealing with Salem's forces and whatever other drama that might be going on in Vacuo.

I still think they’re gonna get to Vacuo through the Shade vault itself. Jaune acquires the Sword of Destruction and uses it to smash through the door from the inside. The fallen realm could be a nexus of sorts that bridges other worlds, since we know the vaults themselves aren’t a part of Remnant.
Escaping from Wonderland isn't going to be Easy from them but Nice Theory.
What if, in this other world, Aura doesn't work? (Kind of like how dust doesn't work outside remnant.) What if they become completely ordinary people while in this world?
I like this idea a lot. It provides an opportunity for everyone to grow. Also, in the theme of these characters growing. Maybe they have to develop skills in leading the Mantle civilians without their semblances and these skills help them later in the overall war.
Well a semblance is from an Aura someone's Soul, so i don't think semblances are remnant bound i think they can be used whenever and wherever because its the person not the place :) thats important x
I really like the idea of Weiss’ family being able to “sense” her out in the universe, that would definitely be a really powerful moment if it can be portrayed in the right way, emotionally. Nice theory!
Imagine jaune getting shoved into the background even more even after all these theories about him.
Building off your idea, what if when they all teleport back to their own world what if when they reform they, get mixed together, Ruby would be taking a lot of people a very great distance and may not be able to keep them together. For example what if Yang appears with black hair from Blake and Blake with yellow hair at a more basic level. If they really wanted to run with the idea what if Neo is no longer a mute but Yang is, or Blake is no longer a fauns but Weiss is. What you describe is basically a teleporter from Star Trek and they have had whole episodes based around accidents, including one in Voyager where two people merged together into a single person.

My headcanon escape solution for the moment is the team reachs the location of the Relic of Destruction and destroy the vault gate from within. The linkspan was meant to be created in "a place like this [the Relic of Creation Vault]". That was what team RWBY did ask to Mr 'litteral' Ambrosius.

in a sense, it seems devoid of grim and lush with life.
It would be interesting if it happens, but theres nothing definitive about a lack of grim in the new world.
Concerning the civilians who fell(either by Cinder herself or in the chaos she caused) I think if they made to the other realm with our heroes alive then perhaps they could stay in the other realm, hear me out. I only say this in the case that it would be safe for them to stay there till Ruby and the others stop Salem from destroying Remnant. In show they wouldn't know if saving their world is a 100% guarantee, plus I doubt they'd want to bring civilians back to Remnant while the war is still on-going anyway.
Blake might be able to help them to switch place with ruby and neo might make a shield or a craft for them to ride on

The place they are in is a place for the gods so they would be able to use semblances there and the relic’s are the remnants of the gods powers that reside in that world meaning they would work too and raven’s semblance aura consumption doesn’t increase with distance it increases with number of portals matter coming and going through and the amount of time it is open so it would be a viable option and also you seem to have forgotten that Ruby’s semblance is 100% hereditary from her mother they had the same semblance but I got one believe that they will encounter the gods and have to help the gods in order to escape

Random question:
Has it been confirmed that Raven only has portals to Tai, Qrow, & Yang? I'm just wondering where she portaled to after her meeting with Qrow in the upstairs level of the bar in either Vol. 4 or 5 (Waitress: "Someone upstairs wants to see you. She ordered you bottom shelf. I got you top shelf, lucky you").
Raven likely portaled to Qrow to get there, but she also used a portal to leave as well. And I believe the next time we see her, she's in her camp. She clearly didn't portal to Qrow to leave. She wouldn't have portaled to Tai, as he was in Vale, and would've taken her forever to fly back to Mistral. And I doubt she portaled to Yang as she was either (1.) Sulking or training with Tai. or (2.) on her way to Raven's camp after said training.
This leaves the question, whom did she portal to? I assume that she had a portal set up to Vernal.

That pretty much has to be it. I don't know if it's been explicitly confirmed that she had a portal to Vernal, but it's the only explanation that makes sense. In addition to the scene you mentioned, there's also the portal she opened to bring everyone into the fight at Haven. She opened the portal *to* them, and the only one of that group she could possibly have had a portal to was Vernal.

Will she even be left with enough power to go back? Also considering she would not only have to bring back herself but also six other people and the rest of Atlas and Mantle that also fell back
I think I'd like some kind of through the looking glass type exit where they use Neo's semblance to break the mirror through to Reminant.
I feel like everybody forgets that Raven's aura broke during her fight with Cinder. She had to wait to use her semblance to get to Tai, probably about 24 hours. She CHOSE Tai. At that point, she could have chosen Yang or Qrow because they were already away from Haven, but no, she went to Tai... This is something I hope gets explored when they re-introduce Tai and Raven, maybe some sort of reconciliation between them? Sorry, not what the video is actually about.
This is super interesting. I had never even thought about the fact that Weiss teleports dust before, that's crazy. Thinking about the reunion of the Schnees makes me want to cry. This may or may not be completely overpowered, but I want Neo to be able to copy semblances. We saw Toga just learn to do it in the most recent season of My Hero Academia, and I don't think it's impossible for Neo. You could even tie it to the better she knows a person, the better she is at it. Then, if she and Jaune develop a closer relationship she could copy Jaune's semblance and add even more aura into the mix.
Toga power rely on blood so if they do go that root for Jaune getting closer to Neo than do you think Neo will unlock if she kiss Jaune?

I mean, I hope that doesn't happen. I don't want them to be together romantically at all, whatsoever. But yeah, it's possible. It also doesn't have to be exactly like Toga. We already know that Neo can change into someone without needing their blood.

I would like to point out that I hear often “the other three kingdoms have fallen”, but that’s not true. Haven Academy still stands strong, and the students and faculty should have been returning shortly after the battle for Haven.
While it can be inferred that Leo had them all wiped out, that was never stated and is only theory.
If the "world tree theory" has any merit then perhaps some possible obstacles/opponents for our heroes could a fierce giant bird, a venomous dragon/serpent, and a loud annoying Squirrel. Beasts from Norse myth which live on the world tree.
They think they're going get a new power or something
Love the idea, I haven't though of it ! Since the end of Volume 8 I'm kinda convinced there will be another being (a god ? a spirit ? an god-animal ? or someone else) they'll meet during their journey who might help them to go back on Remnant (maybe Ambrosius himself even), but I also like the idea of them finding a new way by themselves and being empowered at the same time so it'll help to fight Salem.
I think we’re going to see the God of Animals in this world. We yet have to see The Shallow Sea, plus one of his fairy tails involve the same island everyone’s on (assuming it’s the same island)
It will be cool of raven getting team rwby, juane and neo out the other world in volume 9 making it as her suprised return in rwby sense volume 5 while neo about to do a killing blow on ruby, raven charges and kicks neo in the gutt and ruby tells neo the truth about who actually killed Roman torchwick in volume 3 that's was a Grimm and neo hears raven describing the Grimm as "abominations that Salem makes" causing neo to get a flashback of when she first met Salem at volume 8 and about to kill Salem for revenge of Roman's death instead but raven tells her that Salem's unkillble making it impossible to avenge Roman's death and the heroes escape the other world and revan tells her the reason why she rescued them as because qrow heard from winter that team rwby and juane fell in to the void during the climax of volume 8 and qrow knows how raven's semblance works and and has no choice but to contacts raven to get them out of the other world
I think in learning another world they will have to find their way to reminant somewhere in the world tree after they grow as a reward for growth
Honestly, i think the only way they escape is by Raven. Remember, she can create a portal that can take her directly to Yang, perhaps even if she's in another dimension

Jaune has the ability to Amplfy aura, is it possible he can do that with Oscars staff of magic? That he used to stop Salem for a short period of time.
what if its the world the gods of life and death left to? there is no humans there and that is what they considered their biggest mistake, and like i really dont know how they are gonna defeat salem without ultimate mega plot armor so having some sort of back story or something that gives them the info but the gods dont want to put them back cause they are done doing favours for humans so they got to find a way and while doing that prove to the gods that humans arent a lost cause

Imagine if the rwby series had an ichigo character, a combination of every humanoid species. A human and a grimm like salem but also a faunus and a silver eyed warrior and a shnee which are both just special types of humans. The purpose of having a hybrid character like ichigo is basically to make them *op* and they can explore who they are and unlock new abilities and master them. This theoretical hybrid could probably use magic like salem as well, they could have a semblance and a faunus trait hmm what could it be
But if one survived and founded, without knowing, the schnee family it would be a good plot point i think

Salem’s goal is to end the world, right
end the world of remnant
The ever after, would be safe then, including everyone in it
I imagine the characters will be made to have an emotional connection, such as ruby with little and his supposed village, then be given an option
Stay in safety, away from the danger of salem, or go back
Whatever deity (or maybe another member of the god’s race) does propose the question will give a reward to those that leave
Semblances are unlocked during a period of great stress and turmoil, along with just the right condition where they appear to have a use
Whatever power boost the girls get could be something similar, unlocked via a moral battle with themself, rather than a physical one with outside factors
Raven can't use her semblance there, because semblance don't work outside of Remnant now let me explain how they escape using their semblance

You know at this point tell him is becoming a powerful character that not even they can beat unless there's some mcguffen for plot the only way you can beat her is if you take care of her anime who's so Op you have to mix a few here's what I would use to kill Salem one for all, white beards devil fruit,Za warudo, ultra instinct, and Ben 10 Omnitrix Team Rwby have a fight for their lives and when Salem and cinder finally dead we will all gloriously dance on their Graves

This idea is a smart idea and honestly it’s very plausible from what you have said.
Part of me wants this to be like a time skip, having them stuck in this world for possibly months or even as much as a year their time training and trying to return, some of them having given up and all the while Neo is watching them. Another part of me thinks they will lean heavily into the Alice in Wonderland thing and have a thing where there is a massive creature akin to the Jabberwocky that they need to slay to return and that it will actually come down to Neo to save them and let them all escape.

Honestly its likely going to be Juane and Wiess. Ruby doesn't seem the type to push on that, and they already have a couple with Blake and Yang for the moment.

1.somehow Oscar will use the last of his magic to bring them back or if the theory is true that Oscar's going to have a dream semblance maybe he'll be able to pull things from out of his dreams and maybe he'll be able to pull them through if he's connected to team Ruby and John so maybe he'll be able to pull them back to remnant but Neo will be stuck in the other world permanentl

3 ,the only other option I can see is that they meet the gods or some fairy like being or somebody with magic who sends them back to remnant I don't think any of their semblances are abilities are going to get them back to remnant

Maybe Winter will have a Glyph and Weiss will have a Glyph and they're quantum entangled, sort of. That does theoretically make sense.
Then the past spells cast by both will be recast... oh wait no, that's Harry Potter.

Aren't those realms of each relic possibly connected to the potential place they've arrived to? If that is the case, perhaps there is something they must unlock to gain access to these places and open those doors. Maybe one of the remaining relics remain, that which require something else to appear? To then use it as a key.
I think the most interesting awakened semblance to see will be Neo's. Although I'd like to see all of their semblances awakened.

Regardless of whether she turns good, her semblance awakening would still be cool to see. Gotta keep the power level up if we want to to keep being a problem from ruby and/or Neo (for betraying her, as if we didn't see that coming).

I wish they would already announce the premier date for vol 9. We’re already approaching the year mark of when vol 8 ended
I think Neo's semblance could be useful. Her upgrade could allow her to create actually things instead of just illusions. Neo would create some sort of dome or field that would encase and connect everyone. This would somehow make it easier for Ruby to use her semblance to turn everyone into molecules. This could also be the turning point for Neo to cement her as one of the good guys.
No news of the volume 9?

I believe there is another possibility. Imagine when they were instructing ambrosius, yang said "somewhere like this" referring to the vault. Maybe how they return will be that they will eventually find the vault of the relic of destruction. I know you somewhat think the Raven theory won’t work but wouldn’t it work with your theory? I mean the Schnees summon sure, the teleporting is personally a bit of a stretch for me but it’s possible, however they can only summon things they have on them like the dust or the grimm they have killed. So would it make more sense to have Raven using her semblance to use Yang as the beacon and the Schnees use their glyphs on Raven’s portal, one glyph to enhance the power and the other to be a summoning glyph, making a stable portal for Ruby getting everyone with her semblance and travel through in one go like you said. After all while team RWBY will have Jaune, the others will have Willow and two maidens. And if we are thinking of how if they all get enhanced semblances could help, Blake’s could be she makes a clone of others for a limited time and that can be how Weiss can go with everyone, the real weiss helps make the portal before Blake makes a fake weiss to hold it so they can escape. Yang’s enhance semblance is that she can share her with others, meaning while jaune is enhancing Weiss to make the portal Yang could have been stockpiling to help her sister make the journey through space. Plus, imagine they arrive back on Remnant in a cloud of flaming rose petals, epic.
Of course that is just my thoughts on it, I personally think and hope *knowing that it won’t happen* that another god helps out. Showing Ruby how to use her powers, revealing they made the Faunus, and possibly be a way to help in the end game like the gods decide to wipe out humanity again but this god appears and tells them they can’t because he made the Faunus and the brother gods have no say on their fate so when the brothers say they will just wipe out their creations they realize that over the millions of years the Faunus and humans have mixed to the point that they are neither of the gods creations but their own thing. *side note in the Faunus world of remnant they explain the human and Faunus parent have children that are either human or Faunus.*

I feel like Glyphs using Dust isn’t teleporting it but a little more “magic-mumbo-jumbo”
The glyphs are essentially projections of aura. We’ve seen similar projections like Blake’s Clones get infused with Dust. We’ve also seen characters… Hazel, conjure elemental attacks like that meteor through channeling straight Dust.
Dust gets infused into her aura, and her aura projects itself (now infused in color coded elemental properties). OK FINE ITS STILL TELEPORTING
