If Neo doesn’t ascend, then her grudge against Cinder would be the only way for her to return to Remnant. Neo can find more to live for in the next volume.
It kinda makes me wonder why she went as if she had no meaning after Ruby ascended. Cinder betrayed her, but she apparently has nothing to go back to Remnant for?
@@holy8782 Maybe Neo was too obsessed over Ruby. I know that whoever I finish working on something, I'm left a little empty. Like when you finish watching a show you love?
@@holy8782 Maybe she saw it futile to return to remnant, thus no hope for Cinder Revenge. Or likely the writers will use it as a reason to ally her to Ruby's team I think.
I thought her death was certain but now that I think about it, I actually really like the idea of her being released from the cat's control just so she can see the newly released Ruby in all her glory, her best laid plans having completely failed
I actually think that Neo will survive, but not go back to Remnant. Think about this, Neo got her revenge on Ruby, but she's still empty. Which means that she thinks that she'll still be empty getting revenge on Cinder. Team RWBY & Jaune will save her from the cat and still be alive. I don't think she'll Ascend, but I think that she'll take up Alex's cause in the Ever After. To help all the creatures of that world find themselves. Maybe she'll have a guide whether it be an Asended Little or Jaune decides to stay to help her. That's what I think will happen to Neo.
I think the reason why I love RWBY so much is that after I'm done watching an episode, I know this guy has a detailed review and does great theorizing for me to watch straight after 😅
Neo is a fan favorite, I'm guessing she is going to ascend or stay for a while to reflect. Neo already has a voice actress assigned so it's entirely possible that she can reincarnate to be able to “speak for herself” and stop being a tool for others. I highly suspect that she's going to turn over a leaf and become a strong ally. For the cat, I believe the tree spirit will take care of either resetting or wiping the memories of the promise made with Alyx. I still think the tree spirit is a relic, one of creativity. And that the ever after land was a great hiding spot for it.
Roman was a fan favorite, Watts was a fan favorite,IRONWOOD was a fan favorite, if anything being a favorite usually garuntees your death sooner or later, only a matter of when. Also wouldn’t the curious cat,a creature cursed with insatiable curiosity be the relic of CURIOSITY, I mean the blue diamonds on its head? The blue diamonds in the crown
Personally on board for the team hoping that Neo is saved and redeemed as an ally. Also leaning towards the prospect of Ruby forming the connection to turn over Neo's leaf.
It’s amazing how much of a foil Neo is to Nora. Whereas Nora wanted to being herself separately from Ren, Neo can’t seem to want other than Roman and/or avenging him. A line comes to mind ‘without him, who am I’…it’s scary to see Nero’s potential fate being something that Nora could have suffered…had she not decided to figure her self-identity out
Little was young and didn't know their purpose, which caused them to be one of the hunting mice. Perhaps the mice are hunting for their purpose? So if Neo ascends and still doesn't know what her purpose is, then maybe she comes back as a mouse. Also, it just occurred to me that the Jabberwalker said "fix," and Alyx wanted to "fix" things... but the Jabberwalker was in the book, so...? Hmm.
my theory why she cant pass through the door is that her sole desire is get revenge on Ruby, and after she did, she feels empty and thinks has no other purpose. perhaps after she found herself, she wants to redeem herself and will able to return to Remnant. But for now, she wants to find herself and finds another purpose
Another commenter brought up a really good point: The Curious Cat lies. *A lot.* Sure, he *said* that Neo has nothing left to tie her to Remnant, but it's equally possible that she's fighting against the CC tooth-and-nail on the inside, and that's what's keeping the CC from going through the door. Edit: and before anyone asks what she has to fight for, I would like to point out that when all else fails, spite is one *hell* of a motivator. And I don't know about you, but if a magic cat vored itself down my throat without my consent and used me as a meat-puppet, I'd *really* want to screw it over.
While I don'r like Talk No Jutsu, I think ascending or having the team convince Neo that Cinder did more harm to Roman or something like that, would feel great especially since her arc seems unfinished and the only time they pulled a face turn it felt force in Emerald, Neo would fit more in a case like that... Well not a face turn but be something like a tweener or Anti-Hero
I think that RWBY is trying to (in a subtle way at least) pay lip service to the desires of the God of Light and Ozma's mission to unite the people of Remnant. Hazel and Emerald both suffered supreme torments in their lives and have not necessarily been "redeemed" for the things they have done but have made up for past transgressions and become more concerned with the preservation of life and hope (i.e. the purpose of the Silver-eyed warriors) rather than Salem's desire to, as she said when she was originally introduced, focus all her power to "snuff it out." Neo should have a similar arc. She has suffered deeply throughout her life and even though she is empty inside, has realized that revenge and focusing all her power on "snuffing out" Ruby's life ultimately meant nothing to her. Though she may not have silver eyes, Neo's eyes are also important to me and are indicative of her character and conflicted soul. She is literally split between two colored halves of herself and has had a taste of what happens when the half of revenge and violence takes over; a half that she found no ultimate comfort in. Why not let the other half of her soul see the light of day through Jaune bringing it out via his semblance and that being used as a avenue to give her new purpose?
@@macaljeremy6415 Pyrrha's death is on Cinder. Neo had a hand in it along with Penny's but both girls died to Cinder's hand. Neo is an accomplice this is true, but in the end, what does she have left? She is a broken shell. Ascending isn't about wiping the slate clean it is about bettering yourself as well. I might have made the joke about Kratos but his words do speak true: 'Do not BE sorry - BE Better.' Neo has done much wrong but she can also do good, if ascension works as intended.
@@shidensasaki5527 she doesn't deserve that chance " to be better".like cinder she's the same kind of monster. she didn't feel any kind of remorse for her actions, took pleasure at torturing ruby the same way cinder does with her victims. jabberwalker is what she deserves.
@@macaljeremy6415 And yet you miss the point of how that came to be - monsters are not born, they are created. Cinder and Trivia were not given any form of sympathy or such. What is left for someone who's had nothing than to reel in the joys of watching others suffer. I'm not saying they're redeemable, I am saying however that Neo has that chance because she's in Ever After. To ascend, to become better. It is a chance for her to do so - or she can die and be forgotten. In the end, it is a choice that is offered and sometimes few ever have that choice. We don't feel remorse to those who cause harm to others but people always forget that people who want others to suffer are victims of suffering as well. Hence why the first poster said - The Cycle of Revenge must end. Neo has this chance, to become something more and be better. Does it change her past? No. But she won't remember. It's a clean slate and while most don't deserve it, it is a chance to BE better unlike most.
I have a feeling neo might die along with the cat in this volume. As the saying goes "curiosity killed the cat". Anyway but i also feel like jaune will be the one to help neo out. They were once the same at some point. they both lost someone they cared for or looked up too and carry momentous of there fallen friend the only difference is that jaune had some closure while neo never did and was out for revenge. And because like i said before that jaune should also remind neo about who was the one who sent her to the ever after in the first place (cinder). She already had her revenge on ruby now its time to get cinder too. Ps. If she does end up dying i want jaune to take Roman's/neo's hat. Just for fun 😂
@@elijahpage7687 maybe? But im not sure. ruby traded her mom's emblem so she wont be getting that back, crescent rose fell with her so maybe she can get that back at some point and as for her mom's axe unless summer was in the ever after at some point and traded that to the blacksmith or the blacksmith can recreate summer's weapon by ruby's memory of the weapon then i dont think ruby will get that. unless there is some unknown force that will give ruby all of those items back to her then maybe there's a chance
With the cat's power to grow, blast away through things at lightning speed, go invisible, fly and possess things I think it could take on the Jabberwalker easily. I think the fear when team RWBY first encountered it was just an act - think they were trying to get Ruby away from the team, initially hoping that her friends would be killed while tiny, then when she insisted on getting them big/getting the parfait trying to get her to retreat so they'd hopefully die for her (all ways to make her lose heart), and finally when this didn't work, simply just trying to make sure Ruby as the cat's potential host didn't get eaten and retreated so the cat wouldn't have to reveal their powers in covering their escape. And if you think about it the cat covered their escape very successfully. I remember wondering how the seemingly defenseless cat and one sacrificial hawk managed to prevent so many Jabberwalkers from following... Now we know!
I really hope Neo can be saved. She seems like the perfect character for a promise of redemption. Maybe she'll dedicate herself to helping RWBY and Jaune to beating Cinder or she could dedicate herself to helping Jaune if it goes the way I think it does. I do have a question. Are you planning on doing a review of the RWBY x Justice League crossover movie?
Food for thought. What if Neo, goes through Ascension becomes Roman torchwick? Her obsession is him he saved her, he was the only companion by her side. And when he died she was obsessed with revenge, And if the ever after offers her to be anybody just like it offered Ruby to be anyone. She could choose to be him.
What goes around, comes around. I'm thinking of the volume 8 scene in the control room with Cinder and Watts. Also can Jaune forgive and forget the fact that Neo was Cinder's accomplice in the fall of Beacon that cost Pyrrha's life? Well maybe. Only in TV land does such sainthood exist.
Well, that's settled. I hope that the finale of volume 9 of RWBY will have a good ending. After volume 9, could this 10th volume of RWBY get any worse?
Personally, I'm okay with Yang and Ruby adopted Neo to live with them. If she was 10 years younger. I was a little bit surprised at how old Neo _really_ is.
It’s either Neo is saved and redeemed or Trivia is reborn via ascension. Either one is the best choice for Neo. I honestly can’t forgive Neo for filicide(Little aka the Baby) but I can work towards it if she were to be saved. And I do believe it’s likely considering the Team let Emerald in. And despite miss “I wasn’t completely on board with everything that transpired since V3 and I’m as scared of Salem as you” having that excuse, you have to remember that she was the biggest reason why Beacon fell in the first place. While I am happy she’s playing for what I call the common-sense team, I’m still ticked she got the redemption when she was the reason why everyone died in the Fall of Beacon. That being said I do see Neo being redeemed. If she does become someone else or becomes an ally against Salem and Cinder I’d like it.
I could see Neo being saved in some way (maybe the cat leaves Neo to try and possess Ruby again), then possibly doing to herself what she did to Ruby. Drinking from the tree leaves and changing herself in the process to be the kind of person she wants to be.
When I watched ep9 my immediate thought when Neo shut down is that Neo is kind of like the Joker. Whilst she was hell bent on revenge she didn't realise she didn't want to kill Ruby because that's all she has to work against. It just made me think that the joker never wants to kill or defeat batman but needs him to have something to fight against. Whether Ruby and Neo end up having that sort of back and forth Idk but I think it would be neat. I do hope Neo doesn't die this volume though she's a great character and deserves a happy ending despite her actions up to now
It's 50/50 split whether Neo will be saved. With her being saved tied to what is, more or less, the narrative theme of this season: How does one process loss? And the audience has been given 3 cases to look at. Ruby, bottles her emotions till she breaks. Neo, is swallowed by her grief turning into anger until that rage ultimately destroys her. Jaune, ultimately does process his grief and let's it out, leaving him in a much better state. He was just stuck on not being able to let go. Jaune just now learned to let go. Ruby is being forced to confront her emotions. It would make sense for Neo, narratively speaking, to learn from those two and ultimately join them in overcoming her own grief. As she has not grieved for Roman, has not been able to let him go. And it is that connection that allows both Ruby and Jaune, or at the very least Jaune as he'll be heavily involved, that wakes her up. Connection through grief. Interestingly, it just clicked to me this fight is a fight between those that can manipulate souls more or less so it kind of makes even more sense why the cat and Jaune are so at odds because good lord does the cat hate him. At the very least, it should be an interesting finale.
Her story ending sadly would fit completely because Neo doesn't care about the thousands her actions have caused to die and the millions who've suffered.
A big part of this volume for ruby and jaune is them not saving people. Jaune for who knows how long spent his days "saving" the paper pleasers while living with the regret and pain of not saving pyrrha and killing penny. Ruby spent the days in the ever after being crushed by the weight of her decisions and the failure to save atlas and not being enough. So I see 2 possibility 1 they save neo or 2 they learn that you can't save everyone.
I really want to see neos fate in the finale but as a final point on the redemption/forgiveness front she might actually make the first move. My view coming from the expression she made after getting rid of ruby To me it said “I finally got what I wanted, but why am I still not happy?” You know what I mean?
I genuinely don’t get why everyone wants to save Neo? She took genuine delight in the crimes she committed, she looked like she was about to have a party when she was about to kill Yang, and she not only dedicated three whole volumes to killing Ruby, she breaks her in the most sadistic way and drives her to suicide, all with a smile on her face. Neo doesn’t deserve redemption, she doesn’t deserve forgiveness. I genuinely don’t get why so many people want to give her a pass.
@@BlizzardofKnives Seems that way. Yet Adam Taurus had a REAL fucked up backstory and yet everyone’s calling for his head. For the record, I’m not condoning redeeming Adam. He doesn’t deserve it. But I’m very much against Neo getting redeemed. Some people just need to be villains. Tragic villains sure. But villains nonetheless.
I don't remember, does Neo know that Roman was killed by a Grimm? Because if she don't, that could be a reason for her to go back to Remnant, to get revenge on the one that command them: Salem.
Hey, there's many villains in this show I want in a body bag. But I feel that Neo deserves mercy and to be brought to justice. Since childhood, Trivia Vanille lived a terrible life with idiotic and abusive parents who didn't know shit about her disability nor cared. Then her Semblance kicked in and she created Neopolitan as her imaginary friend until they became one. As Neo she eventually went with the wrong crowd and met Roman Torchwick. They became partners in crime and Neo fell in love with Roman. Although, I don't know if her feelings were reciprocated. Then they got involved with the White Fang and Cinder. Only after a Griffin devoured Roman and Neo barely escaped with her life, Neo became vengeful because Roman was the only person who understood her. Thus, she wanted revenge on Ruby. Even though Roman's death was caused by his own hubris. Plus, she wanted revenge on Cinder for getting Roman involved in the first place until Cinder convinced her otherwise. By extension, Salem used Neo, too. Cinder, however, only used Neo to get was she desired. And when Neo tried to blackmail Cinder with the Relic of Knowledge in order to make good on their deal, Cinder later double-crossed Neo for that by letting both her and Ruby fall. And when she finally got her revenge on Ruby, nothing changed. Roman didn't come back. She was so caught up in her quest for revenge, she didn't take what she would do afterwards into consideration. Killing Cinder would have similar results. Neo has been abused, tortured, manipulated and screwed over her whole life. She deserves another chance and to find her own path. All the while turning herself in. It might not undo the crimes she committed, but it will help her take her first step to atonement. Besides, killing her would just be repeating what happened to other characters with wasted potential.
Here’s my thoughts, Neo is by far not a irredeemable character in my opinion, she is someone who’s has nothing left yes but if you consider the fact she may not even been tryin to resist the cat taking over despite how painful it must’ve been makes it even more sad which is exactly why she shouldn’t die. Every villain has a story, Rudy had gotten glances of that story and may realize anyone would’ve wanted revenge if the person who mattered to them was taking away, I think the cat will leave and attempt to take over Ruby who will emerge just in time to fight back, they defeat the cat, the other members might even attempt to take Neo out or ask what to do with her but Ruby and Jaune will be able to tell she’s no longer and threat and if anything lost to which they’ll realizes sometimes saving someone doesn’t just mean physically but in Neo’s case mentally and I personally would love to see a more vulnerable and hesitant side of Neo that Trivia was cuz if you only had 1 friend your whole life…making new ones can sometimes be scary. If she dies ima be very disappointed due to it being a very good opportunity wasted.
I think and hope that Neo’s time has come. RWBYJ has no reason to forgive her or believe that she feels any regret for anything she’s done. Trusting her when you know she has a grudge against Ruby and wants her dead would be a huge mistake. The same is true for the cat. Neither can be trusted. I don’t mind if Neo is ascended and stays in the Ever After living a new, hopefully better, life. But she shouldn’t return to Remnant.
I don't see redemption on the cards for Neo; she's a remorseless killer and sadist. If she survives the Cat, I can only see one possibility: Neo awakes, battered, beaten and surrounded by J-RWBY. She could try one last stab at Ruby, but she already knows that revenge will just lead to more emptiness. Utterly lost and broken, she'll accept the embrace of the Tree and undergo ascension. But I'd keep her fate ambiguous as to whether she'd remain as Neo, Trivia, or shed both identities. Either which way, she's never leaving the Ever After, since her ties to Remnant are gone. One can hope that one day she'll emerge a better person, but that isn't for us to decide.
I see a lot of people saying that she shouldn’t be redeemed, and that that she should die. She doesn’t have to become an ally to team RWBY, she could become a 3rd party ally who doesn’t tag along but is there when they need her kinda like what they did in Inuyasha with some of their characters
If they were willing to accept Emerald changing sides, I think Neo/Trivia has a shot. Of course, we have 36 hours to go before we get a solid answer to that.
I think she’ll ascend and end up in the tree in which our characters leave her behind, Then the end credits scene neos tree statue starts to crack because she’s finishing her ascension and becoming a new person.
I'm theorizing that the cat will eventually get ripped out of Neo leaving her in a critical state. Shortly after this Ruby will complete her ascension, and with her renewed sense of identity and attitude, she will comfort Neo and put her mind at ease by telling her what really happened to Roman. Neo will then use the last of her power to conjure an illusion to speak for her and apologize / forgive Ruby. The illusion breaks and Neo begins to fade but Ruby makes the call to have Jaune amp Neo's aura to save her. Neo reawakens in Remnant with Ruby & the Gang and decides to ally with the enemy of her enemy in a fight against Cinder/Salem. I think that Neo seeing Emerald will reassure her that it's not so bad on the protagonist side.
I think if the gang manage to get neo and the cat into the tree neo will likely find out that nobody is to blame for torchwicks death except for maybe salem since Salem guides the grim and cinder directed them to attack beacon and torchwick was caught in the middle, so if neo does get free’d and gets into the tree she’ll ascend and work with Ruby to fight Salem But hey we’ll see when it comes out cuz I’d like Neo to stay in the show since they took pyrra from us
It is really curious as to what Neo's fate would be. On one hand, Neo has been a bit of a thorn in the side for our heroes, due to her misguided need for revenge. Having played a role even in the fall of both Beacon and Atlas. On the other hand, Neo is such a fan favorite character outside the role of the heroes... I'm pretty sure a lot of people would be disappointed if the next episode would be her last... especially if it results in her death. My personal opinion in that... I've always wanted there to be some sort of 'redemption' for Neo, kind of like how I wanted Emerald to switch sides (which did happen). Granted, I don't want her redemption arc to be easily obtained... something that she has to work for and gain by her actions in the eyes of those who could save her, Ruby and Jaune. Of course, seeing what she did recently... it would be an uphill climb for Neo to regain any form of redemption. And maybe yeah, through tagging along with Team RWBY and Jaune, Neo could see that there's more to life outside her former relationship with Roman, and maybe even get the rest of her vengeance on Cinder with their aide. Of course, that does depend if she were to be saved and redeemed. On the flip side though... if Neo wasn't saved, her fate after the little confrontation is uncertain. It's possible that Neo could ascend, seeing that her 'purpose' was fixated on Ruby. And when Ruby ascended, Neo's 'purpose' was essentially fulfilled... as bittersweet as it was for Neo. Meaning that I think she does check most of the boxes to experience ascendance. Whether she does so with the Cat or not, I can't be overly sure. Personally I have mix feelings when it comes to the Cat.
There are so many roads, so many potential futures, for both Neo, and RWBYJ. I would personally like to see Neo turn over a leaf and become their ally. But, Phoenix brings up an excellent point about Ruby and Jaune being the ones to sort of snap her out of the empty feeling in her soul. They could absolutely do it. But..we must wait for Saturday, and I cannot wait. This will be quite the finale…
If I was in the Ever After, which acre would you live on? For me, I’d pick either the Paper Acre or the Field Acre. Both are hospitable environments, I could build my own home and try to make a decent living.
At the moment I think it is more like Ruby ascrends which means the whole team gets back, If I would tell the story I may consider to lead them to beacon to the relic of choice which may have the blacksmith as its spirit, as the blacksmith quite often asks what rubys choice is. Neo will return with the cat (both are only out temporarily) and is then getting the Relic of Choice to Salem.
If Emerald can be redeemed then Neo can too. Both were involved in the fall of both Beacon and Atlas. Both were involved more so because of the loss/love for their mentor and not necessarily because they wanted the world to end.
What if Neo goes through the same feeling as Ruby looking at the weapon of Summer Rose, but it's Torchwick's cane. It'd be sad to see her go, as I'm one of the die-hard Neo fans myself. It would also be a disappointing return of Roman so I hope it's more along the lines of she comes back having remembered more about him, or similar. Plus, Roman's voice saying that she should have more to live for than killing Ruby implies she has larger internal conflicts than I initially thought. Perhaps if she returns she can split that part of her brain into her idea of Roman and essentially have him back, controlling the illusion itself.
If team rwby can accept emerald, then by all means that they can be accepted by her too. Plus the idea of them having two illusion experts would be awesome
Maybe part of the reason her grudge against Cinder seems to have been forgotten is that in getting her revenge on Ruby, she realized that revenge wouldn't actually make her happy? She had one thing. One person. Getting revenge on Ruby made her realize she's never getting him back, making her face just how alone she is for the first time.
If Neo does ascend I see two possibilities: The first is the more obvious one, Trivia Vanille. There's a certain poetic quality to I and it's a way to still have Neo without all the baggage that comes who Neo is. My second option is a little out there, but here me out. She becomes Alyx. I know how crazy it sounds, but there has ben something that has been bothering me the beginning of Volume 9. At the end of the opening we are shown a shot of Neo in a very in character pose. Then it transitions to Alyx in the same pose but lying down and wakes up. That has to be significant. It would also parallel nicely if like Alyx, Neo has a sudden change in conscience at that last minute and wants to make amends. Maybe I'm reading to into that one shot, but the pieces seem to fit together pretty well. Plus, I want to trust my instincts giving I was right about Jaune being older based on a bunch of turning clocks around him in the intro.
*[Spoilers for the V9 Finale]* Well. It ended about how I figured. I knew she'd remain behind in the Ever After and essentially leave the show. I didn't know she'd be kinda...a little bit redeemed tho. Or rather, not redeemed but shown in a more sympathetic light ala her portrayal in Roman Holiday. I liked her exit _A Lot_ . It's not a death but it's pretty apparent that Neo's story is well and truly over as of the conclusion of this volume. I kinda hope we get some supplemental material featuring her in the future!
@@SpiffyMario55 Doubt she'll return in the series proper in any major way but who knows. Maybe the "reborn" version of herself will cameo down the road. Hopefully, she's healed and happy
I have a feeling that ascended people can remember their past if it's important to them because the blacksmith said "nothing can happen to you here except what you choose". I suspect the cat was leaving out important details when describing ascension, like with everything. They didn't want to make it sound too appealing, after all, and I suspect being as cagey as possible was a way to keep them dependent on the cat as guide (also the reason they weren't meant to talk to anybody but the cat ) while supposedly en route to the tree.
I wonder if anyone saw "bullet train"(bradd Pitt). If no one know saw it, spoiler! Ruby: I'm sorry you lost your friend Neo(txt): I did lose a friend, but I also gained one Ruby: Really!? Neo(txt): FUCK NO😡😡🤬 The ending is self explanatory
I think Neo’s story is going to end here. I think she’ll ascend and maybe get to be happy in the Ever After. Perhaps the cat will get up cycled into a new companion for her; a mischievous but loyal companion like Roman was.
I wanna point out: Emerald was directly responsible for Penny's first death, and subsequently the Fall of Beacon. Her saving Cinder shortly before she switched sides in V8 directly lead to the (literal AND metaphorical) Fall of Atlas and indirectly to Penny's second death. Directly and indirectly, she's got a *lot* of blood on her hands as well, and if *she* can get forgiven by the main cast after being used as a tool by Cinder, anyone saying Neo doesn't deserve a second chance is a straight-up hypocrite.
Imagine if she goes to the situation of being separated from her alter ego. Like how the team got Penny separated as a human of herself from her cyborg body who had the virus. Neo might be separated as Trivia while the Cat kept the Neopolitan body.
I’ve never understood wanting Neo redeemed. To me she’s always been a sadistic, violent criminal who's fun to watch. After the tea-party I don’t see Neo making it out as she is. Maybe she’ll accession, but personally I’d like to see her eaten by the Jabberwalker.
Does anyone noticed that Ruby didn't clarify Roman's death to Neo? Anyways, I don't know what the future will hold...but if Neo lives, she would have nothing even if she gets revenge. If she "dies" in Ever After, she would be able to ascend.
Considering Neo's actions, the best-case scenario I see for her is leaving Ruby alone and solely focusing on killing Cinder. But it would feel REALLY forced if Team RWBY forgave her after the sheer psychological trauma that went down. Like, this is far, FAR more harmful that the 'abuse' that Blake caused Yang by running away, mainly because it was actively made with malicious intent.
I don't feel strongly for which outcome I'd want to happen. All I want to see is Trivia fully animated as distinct from Neo. Whether that's manifesting through _their_ Semblance to kick the cat out of her "sister," or appearing during or as a result of Neo Ascending, doesn't really matter (though I do want to see her kick the cat). She just needs to appear in some fashion beyond just a painting and I'll be happy.
I'd love for Neo to survive and develop from there but I'm half expecting her to be eaten by the Jabberwalker along with the cat - would be somewhat poetic that she'd die a similar way to Roman. The Irish saying "May the cat eat you, and the devil eat the cat" may tie into it too.
You know i wondering something is it possible that neo might ascend and be reborn as alyx? I mean in the intro we did see the model of alyx on the beach where it pans to neo then alyx but in these episode we only saw her as pictures from a story book( and also on her dagger in the blacksmith place) im pretty sure rooster teeth didn't just make that model of alyx just for those moments. So im wondering if we might get the return of alyx in a form of ascended neo
If she ascends after being freed, maybe she could get a redemption arc. As she would go through the same thing Ruby is currently going through. However, I don’t see neither her or the cat “dying” (so long as they are bonded) via the jabberwock. Still kinda expecting jaune to ascend and possibly obtain the vorpal blade in that respect… or it ends up somehow getting back to remnant? Hard to tell given the tone of the season whiplashes back and forth…
If neo did kill the jabawalker, sort of like Alex with after ascending to the tree she learned her new purpose would be to fix the damage she had done in her story. Possible neo becomes the new jabawalker or cat of the everafter? as her new purpose to fix those damage she caused like the market place.. even if it was just the jabawalker clones
I want the cat to make it to Remnant but I suspect that cRWBY won't be able to resist the opportunity to joke that "curiosity killed the cat", like that could be the reason for their name, just like Lewis being named after Lewis Carroll. They love their references and foreshadowing.
If Neo doesn’t ascend, then her grudge against Cinder would be the only way for her to return to Remnant. Neo can find more to live for in the next volume.
The heart never forgets, right? Neo ascends, sees cinder and is inexplicably angry at her
It kinda makes me wonder why she went as if she had no meaning after Ruby ascended. Cinder betrayed her, but she apparently has nothing to go back to Remnant for?

After all she has done, I hope she cant be saved
I actually think that Neo will survive, but not go back to Remnant. Think about this, Neo got her revenge on Ruby, but she's still empty. Which means that she thinks that she'll still be empty getting revenge on Cinder. Team RWBY & Jaune will save her from the cat and still be alive. I don't think she'll Ascend, but I think that she'll take up Alex's cause in the Ever After. To help all the creatures of that world find themselves. Maybe she'll have a guide whether it be an Asended Little or Jaune decides to stay to help her. That's what I think will happen to Neo.
As long as she gets a choice that's all I'm concerned with.
I just hope she gets a chance to continue on, like Emerald was given.
I genuinely hope that whatever happens to neo, she is not killed off, she's been my favourite character ever since she was first introduced
I think the reason why I love RWBY so much is that after I'm done watching an episode, I know this guy has a detailed review and does great theorizing for me to watch straight after 😅
@UnicornPlaysWhat Trueeee that's what I did when I didn't have FIRST or Premium memberships my guy 😎
@@mikhailabraham421 RIP our Lord and Savior Forest.😢
@@mikhailabraham421 also the crown shows you a choice you have to make in the future, not curiosity. Hence the name being the Relic of Choice.
Maybe Neo will ascend into Alyx. The cat might get eaten by the Jabber Walker 🤷🏻♂️
What's this about Neo having a voice actress?
I think Neo can be saved with Jaune's semblance, and hopefully this will put her on the path to redemption.
A line comes to mind ‘without him, who am I’…it’s scary to see Nero’s potential fate being something that Nora could have suffered…had she not decided to figure her self-identity out
I hope Jaune will live and go back to Remnant with team rwby.
Hmm.
You have to remember it was the cat that said she had no attachments to Remnant and the cat hasn’t shown to be the most trustworthy
If she had than she could get through the door.
Could also be the cat is the reason why not able to get through
my theory why she cant pass through the door is that her sole desire is get revenge on Ruby, and after she did, she feels empty and thinks has no other purpose. perhaps after she found herself, she wants to redeem herself and will able to return to Remnant.
I hope she makes it fingers crossed i want her in the series until the last episode
Yeah, no more killing off characters who have great potential
I love neo, I really want her to live.
Hazel and Emerald both suffered supreme torments in their lives and have not necessarily been "redeemed" for the things they have done but have made up for past transgressions and become more concerned with the preservation of life and hope (i.e. the purpose of the Silver-eyed warriors) rather than Salem's desire to, as she said when she was originally introduced, focus all her power to "snuff it out."
Neo should have a similar arc.
The cycle of revenge must end and Neo must move on
Sounds like it's time to call Kratos so a neck can be snapped.
*think about pyra, think about penny and hate cinder even more* say that to me again.
Will ruby rose still get crescent rose her mom emblem and her mom axe back
@@elijahpage7687 maybe?
Don't jinx it.
Is it greenlit? I hope we at least reach a conclusion to the story
Personally, I'm okay with Yang and Ruby adopted Neo to live with them. If she was 10 years younger.
I was a little bit surprised at how old Neo _really_ is.
I really hope Neo is saved because...
--I need my Neo x Ruby shenanigans to continue--
It’s either Neo is saved and redeemed or Trivia is reborn via ascension.
Is it wrong that I still like the notion of Jaune saving Neo
A big part of this volume for ruby and jaune is them not saving people.
Jaune for who knows how long spent his days "saving" the paper pleasers while living with the regret and pain of not saving pyrrha and killing penny.
Ruby spent the days in the ever after being crushed by the weight of her decisions and the failure to save atlas and not being enough.
So I see 2 possibility 1 they save neo or 2 they learn that you can't save everyone.
I really want to see neos fate in the finale but as a final point on the redemption/forgiveness front she might actually make the first move. My view coming from the expression she made after getting rid of ruby
To me it said “I finally got what I wanted, but why am I still not happy?” You know what I mean?
I genuinely don’t get why everyone wants to save Neo? She took genuine delight in the crimes she committed, she looked like she was about to have a party when she was about to kill Yang, and she not only dedicated three whole volumes to killing Ruby, she breaks her in the most sadistic way and drives her to suicide, all with a smile on her face.
Neo doesn’t deserve redemption, she doesn’t deserve forgiveness. I genuinely don’t get why so many people want to give her a pass.
Some people will forgive anything if a character has a pretty face & a sad backstory.
If Jaune saves Neo, maybe new love interest? Will “silent Knight” rising up? I think seeing neo silently clinging to jaune would be guite funny.
I don't see redemption on the cards for Neo; she's a remorseless killer and sadist. If she survives the Cat, I can only see one possibility:
Neo awakes, battered, beaten and surrounded by J-RWBY.
Pretty much my prediction.
Yes I was hoping youd make a video about this!
I see a lot of people saying that she shouldn’t be redeemed, and that that she should die. She doesn’t have to become an ally to team RWBY, she could become a 3rd party ally who doesn’t tag along but is there when they need her kinda like what they did in Inuyasha with some of their characters
I hope Jaune saves her. i was always a silentKnight shipper.
If Neo survives and helps the group, I think it would similar to Emerald. She will have to prove herself as an ally.
If they were willing to accept Emerald changing sides,
I think Neo/Trivia has a shot.
Of course, we have 36 hours to go before we get a solid answer to that.
Neo cant die yet. She has to get revenge on cinder. She may go to the tree and change and join ruby in fighting against Salem.
She should go the way of Roman to be like her one thing.
Randomly killed by the Jabber just as the cat is about to take Ruby
I pray she gets saved, because every villain deserves a second chance
The pain and death she caused on Remnant dictates for the circle to be complete she must die.
Literally, her actions killed millions.
So did Emerald, but RWBY accepted her quick redemption
@@sirkjthepotato8892 I don't think Ruby is in the mood for it
@@jkranites That I can agree with, but who knows how she will be after her visit to the tree
I'm loving your 5 o'clock shadow
Wonder if Ren would be able to see a change in Ruby or Jaunes personality once they return to Remnant
My friend and I were discussing this very topic the other day.
I think if the gang manage to get neo and the cat into the tree neo will likely find out that nobody is to blame for torchwicks death except for maybe salem since Salem guides the grim and cinder directed them to attack beacon and torchwick was caught in the middle, so if neo does get free’d and gets into the tree she’ll ascend and work with Ruby to fight Salem
But hey we’ll see when it comes out cuz I’d like Neo to stay in the show since they took pyrra from us
It is really curious as to what Neo's fate would be.
Neo Redemption. Magic of Friendship.
Neo's fate is to grow wheels for feet and glide around the Everafter happily everafter.
If team rwby can accept emerald, then by all means that they can be accepted by her too. Plus the idea of them having two illusion experts would be awesome
so much to do, so little time in the last episode
Maybe part of the reason her grudge against Cinder seems to have been forgotten is that in getting her revenge on Ruby, she realized that revenge wouldn't actually make her happy? She had one thing. One person. Getting revenge on Ruby made her realize she's never getting him back, making her face just how alone she is for the first time.
If Neo does ascend I see two possibilities:
The first is the more obvious one, Trivia Vanille.
Not all people get what they want there is a lot to learn about tragic character... let her be one, don't save her please.
*[Spoilers for the V9 Finale]*
Well.
I kinda hope we get some supplemental material featuring her in the future!
she might come back. just not as the old Neo. she may be someone new.
@@SpiffyMario55 Doubt she'll return in the series proper in any major way but who knows. Maybe the "reborn" version of herself will cameo down the road. Hopefully, she's healed and happy
@@yuukichan12 i mean yeah. after all they pushed several other major characters to the sidelines. Ren, Nora, Qrow, Winter, Raven...etc.
She and Juan should be reborn or killed out this arc should have a price for the hero winning making it a bitter or costly victory
I wonder if anyone saw "bullet train"(bradd Pitt). If no one know saw it, spoiler!
Ruby: I'm sorry you lost your friend
Neo(txt): I did lose a friend, but I also gained one
Ruby: Really!?
Neo(txt): FUCK NO😡😡🤬
The ending is self explanatory
Your videos make my day
I want a redemption arc for her. If they kill her off as they did Adam, I'll be crossed with RT.
it would've been cool if when the cat possessed Neo her voice overlapped with the cat's voice when speaking
What do you mean. It did.
@dmillz5501 the cat voice comes out of neo body
I could imagine that after ruby and her friends leave the ever after, neo (the cat) would have a reason to follow her as ruby is still alive
Imagine if she goes to the situation of being separated from her alter ego. Like how the team got Penny separated as a human of herself from her cyborg body who had the virus. Neo might be separated as Trivia while the Cat kept the Neopolitan body.
i want her to have a happy ending ,i just hope they dont kill her off her story is sad
I too hope Neo can be saved, but honestly I don't see it happening. We don't even know if her soul has remained from the possession or not.
Heres come the Jaune and Neo VS Cinder.
I think she stays in the EA and becomes a never ending foil for CC.
Hopefully neo doesn't die, I'm praying 🙏.
But if
Neo: dies...
Rwby Fandom: wtf! Why? Too much emotional damage and rage.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a new persona if Neo ascends in the Ever After.
So im wondering if we might get the return of alyx in a form of ascended neo
nice theory!
I don't think Jaune is going to acend. Herbs smoke appeared right after Jaune fell off of the tree, so I think that herb helped Jaune.
Yo Phenix where did you get that Ruby Rose poster on yr wall? I need it!!!
Part of me wonders if the cat gave away too much of its heart and that’s what created the change in it
In all honesty, I really don't care what happens to Neopolitan. I lost any sympathy for her after how she stomped Little and cruelly broke Ruby.
