  • Yes, sometimes...actually quite a lot of times, I do drive instead of fly. You've just seen my flying adventures so here's a road trip I did with my family!

The “Panera Bread” segment was absolutely hilarious! Your comment about “no bread” and how you said it was so spot on😊!

Very good video. Not much of a fan of long road trips. I can remember those trips going from Milwaukee to Mississippi. Going from Milwaukee to Chicago can be interesting; however, once you pass Chicago, it does get mostly boring

Thanks for sharing. I drove from Wisconsin to Reno, NV. left on a Tuesday at 5AM got into Reno at 5pm on Thursday. Stayed in a hotel for 2 nights. 2004 miles on the odometer. Nebraska is the worst state, end to end no trees and no towns along the interstate. I moved out here, so made the trip alone. Really not much to see the whole way. This was before smart phones, so mapped it out on Yahoo maps. So much different now days.

Great video as always. I can definitely understand how you feel about having a road trip in a flat area. My area is flat and brown (lack of trees, green terrain and all other vegetation), and it actually gave me depression. If I was wealthier, I would have definitely moved to an area that was greener and/or more mountainous.

The longest drive I do is from Boston to Philadelphia, which takes up to 6 hours, however, one time, it took 7 hours as I drove down on Christmas Day Observed and there was a lot of traffic on Interstate 84 between Hartford or Waterbury and Interstate 684 (Brewster)

Chris the drive between Dallas and San Antonio is worth it because you do get to go through Waco, Austin, and San Marcos with buc-ee's in both Temple and New Braunfels

Thanks for doing a road trip report this time! When I go to Chicago next month from Chattanooga, it’s going to take 9-10 hours. It’ll just be me and my dad and I may have to take some turns driving if we don’t rent a car because I’m still too young to drive them. We have a good car I usually drive that can make it that far and hopefully that’s how it can happen.

If you road trip with me heading west is nice because you get an extra hour and depending on when you leave you can get to Denver nonstop in one day from Omaha, stop three times along the way for food gas, rest stops, etc. Just try and avoid rush hour in Denver which my friends always make that mistake when headed to Colorado to go skiing or mountain walking!!!

Seemingly you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express at Downers Grove--wondering if that red sedan was a rental or your parent's personal vehicle? Panera Bread is a favorite of mine although puzzled as to why you threw your bag of chips across the table? Gas looked like it cost 3.12/gal in Dec '21, cheaper down here in SE Texas. I'm not one for long road trips-- a 3hr road trip in any direction is about my limit. What was the incentive to drive home vs flying ORD-PIT? Will we see footage of your trip back to SFO? (No idea why YT has drawn a black line through my response)

I hate long auto trips. At least when you are driving you have something to do so that helps pass the time away.
