all 3 of the stories from this boxset are on bbc sounds along with ninth doctor ravagers and classic doctors new monsters 1
Yes, there's a lot of good stuff put up on Sounds for the 60th and still there. Though some programmes have gone (like Toby Hadoke's A-Z of Who).
giving ravages out for free probably does big finish more harm than good!
I had already listened to this story before but it was still really fun the second time. Its probably my second favourite of the 10th doctor stories I've listened to, but it is a better choice for the first story of Into The Tardis than my favourite would have been. Although I do agree that the ending is a bit naff and the Doctor is a bit redundant. But the scene between the doctor and the queen-mum, and Donna and Death is great.
I remember the renaissance men being very good
"Charlie, who are the Renaissance Men?"
I'm actually surprised you've never listened to this boxset in full, but glad you've gotten around to it now :)
I do agree with most of what you've said, I personally love this boxset (mostly cause I'm a big 10&Donna fan), but this story was never my favourite on it, let alone in general. The range overall is great though. If you've never listened to the rest of it, I highly recommend it!
i’d have to disagree, I think the range was poor. Same with all of 10s box sets when compared to those of other doctors. That’s just my opinion though and i’m glad you enjoyed
@SweptDust5340 Fair enough, to each their own I suppose. As I've said I might be a bit biased since I love the 10th Doctor, but I enjoyed them a lot. That's not to say I don't like other ranges as well, but I do find that this one is especially lighthearted and fun, which makes it very easy to relisten to as well which is a huge plus imo. And I don't necessarily love every 10th Doctor boxset out there, but, have you ever listened to the 10th Doctor and River one? I personally enjoyed it enough to say it's one of my favorites ever, and I've listened to quite a lot of BF :)
(Then again, I'm also a big fan of Alex Kingstone, so again, might be a bit biased haha)
@@micron000 oooh nope i’ve not listened to the one with River! I took a break from 10 audio after i listened to the 3 main sets to catch up on 9, who i’m aware has a new set with River which I’m also looking forwards to. I’m sure you’ve listened to 9 sets but if not i can’t recommend enough (aside from Ravagers which was pretty dry for me)
Time Reaver: my first big finish story i ever listened too, and from that point on i was hooked completely
I'm definitely thinking about checking this out, great review! I do have a question too: are you planning on reacting to the reactionaries getting upset about recent comments Ncuti made?
10th doctor adventures are a great start for anyone new to big finish!
I'm excited for you doing this! And I agree. I think it is a pretty funny story, but it's definitely in line with the show on its level of hilarity.
I certainly enjoyed this story and felt it captured The Doctor and Donna quite accurately 😁
If you are familiar with Elisabeth das Musical, no one can convince me that this story isn't inspired by it.
This was a great release though it's funny that I only have a few releases and the 3rd one that started this week is one of them lol
Cool.
I listened to this one for a year or so ago when it was on radio4 and was quite disappointed because to me it wasn't as good as it had been hyped up as, infact I think I preferred both Technophobia and Time Reaver at the time, having now listen to it again with lower expectations I enjoyed it a lot more but I still don't think it 100% stands up to the hype.
They split this one into two? This entire boxset was 3 hour-long stories. I guess they needed to split it for the podcast format.
So the boxset has 3, hour-long stories. They release the 3rd one, but split it in 2 for the podcast format.
Has anyone that about converting these audio dramas into comic books?
Volume 2 and Volume 3 have a lot better stories than Volume 1
👍
