Hi Cath, lovely to see your makes again! I have made 2 Carolyn pjs and it is such a classic make, nobody believes I made them! The piping is a challenge around the collar and my second pair was much better. It’s a slow make which you will love! You didn’t mention the Cielo dress, I think that would really suit you. Love your videos, Cath, so much inspiration.
Hi Mary, I love the idea of a slow make of the Carolyn pjs! Thanks I need to have a proper look at the Cielo dress, it’s not one I’m very familiar with, thanks for the tip 😊
I love Closet Core, but it's interesting to see that you've made a lot of their patterns that I haven't and vice versa. I'm with you in absolutely loving the Mile End Sweatshirt. It's such a fantastic pattern. It surprised me that I could be so excited about a sweatshirt pattern! I love these videos that you do. It's great to get your honest thoughts, hearing about what works and doesn't work for you.
That’s interesting that we’ve made different patterns from Closet Core. When I was looking on their website it was hard to narrow down which ones I’d like to make in future as they have so many nice ones and such variety! The Mile End sweatshirt is so good isn’t it! I feel just the same as you, I love it! Thank you for watching, I’m so glad you enjoy these videos 😊
Hi Cath! I live in Montreal and had no idea that Closet Core patterns were based here. I've never tried their patterns, but will definitely get a few now. Thank you for your video.❤
Hi Lisa, that’s really cool you live in Montreal, I love that the Montreal collection was inspired by the city where Closet Core is based, hope you enjoy sewing some of their patterns 😊❤️
Hi Cath I am 3/4 through making the Carolyn pajamas with piping and enjoying the process. I have the Elodie, Mile end and Kelly patterns in my stash as future projects. I have made the ginger jeans and I love them 😍 the stretch denim type is the secret. Thank you for another interesting vlog.
Hi Sheelagh, fab that’s really good to hear you’re enjoying the Carolyn pjs pattern, it looks like a really fun sew. Yes I think the right fabric is definitely the key for the ginger jeans. Thanks very much for watching 😊
I loved making The Carolyn pj’s. I made them with piping and love that they look so professional and fit me perfectly. I have also made that Charlie Caftan which I love. My favourite two patterns are The Mitchell Trousers of which I’ve made two wide leg versions and The Kalle shirt, which like you, I lengthened the cropped version and had the wonderful hidden placket. Such a great company and now they have incorporated Deer and Doe, another favourite, it’s a match made in heaven!
The Carolyn pjs look so lovely with the piping! I think I’d enjoy sewing them. I really like the look of the Mitchell trousers too, they have some lovely details! Yes such great patterns!
Hi Cath - I enjoyed seeing and hearing about your Closet Core makes. I have never made one of their patterns. Gave me something to think about. Take Care
Hi Janiece, I’m glad the video has given you food for thought. I do like a Closet Core pattern, it was nice to revisit the patterns I’ve made to date, thank you for watching 😊
Your makes are so pretty! I made the Ginger Jeans in the summer, and although I followed my measurements, they were too big. Maybe my fabric was too stretchy! I am trying the Lander Pants right now, but put them on hold because I went for the shorts version, and I won't need them for a few months, LOL. I love all the information you give about the patterns, it helps to know what to expect!
Thank you very much! Oh no that’s a shame about your Ginger jeans! The Lander pants pattern is a really nice looking pattern too, hope you enjoy it when you come to sew your shorts version. Thanks for watching, I’m so glad you find the information helpful 😊
I'm working on Elodie right now. It's my first Closet Core pattern. I'm truly amazed by the detail and precision, the step by step instruction and all the additional info on their website. Haven't had a pattern like this before. I definitely want to get more from Closet Core in the future.
I really liked this video Cath. Your pattern reviews are always very detailed and insightful. I remember when you did your Kalle dress hack video, it was the first video of yours that I saw ! I must say I keep thinking I must make another Kalle. I made my first, well one and only, Kalle when I came back to sewing after a gap of over 30 odd years. My how things had changed ! Whilst I absolutely loved making the tunic I cut out the size according to my measurements and the result was a garment which absolutely wore me 😆 I had been so used to the Big Four (there were no Indies back in the day) that I completely ignored the finished garment measurements.! (Aaargh. What a mistake to make). Since that time I have been on a huge learning curve, and I must revisit Kalle. I’ve made three Mile End sweatshirts now and it’s my current favourite sweatshirt pattern . Thanks for all your hard work producing these videos 👏
Thanks so much Shelly! Oh how funny about the finished garment measurements on your first Kalle! 😆 The Mile End is such a nice sweatshirt pattern isn’t it! I didn’t think one could beat the Jarrah for me but I am living in my Mile Ends in this cooler weather and really enjoying them! Thanks so much for watching 😊
Hmm....sounds like Hubbie could see a Xmas gift there with Carolyn PJs....yes I want to make some lovely PJs as well, and I think these look great. Thanks for a super look at Closet Core patterns, my favourite is the jungle Caftan dress, very cool and fresh looking and you wear it well. Thanks Cath.
That’s a very good idea for the Carolyn pjs as a Christmas present! Thanks I am looking forward to getting the jungle caftan out next summer as I made it just before summer finished this year so I haven’t got to wear it much yet! 😊
Love the sweatshirt especially the 2 color one. I am going to try to order something from Closet Core. I also would like to make that Anarak, it looks really nice.
I just found your channel and truly enjoyed your vision of CC patterns. Your makes are beautiful! I subscribed and look forward to watching all! I am also planning to purchase at least 2 of the patterns you reviewed. Thanks!
Thank you Kath, I just want to thank you for your honesty and perfect review of the CC patterns, so I have been looking for the perfect comfy joggers for me, and for me all your dislikes about the plateau are just what I am looking for, high waist a little wider leg. I was thinking Hudson with an alteration , so now thinking these are perfect will pick up for Christmas PJs.
Hi there oh fab I’m so glad you found my review helpful. That’s great that the Plateau joggers fit the bill of what you’re looking for, I hope you enjoy sewing them!
Hi Cath, I enjoyed seeing your makes. The only Closet Core pattern I have made is the Sienna Maker jacket . I made the shorter version and I wear is open like a blazer. I really like it and have made two. Your video has given more ideas for Closet Core patterns to try. Thank you 🤗
Hi Cynthia, thank you so much 😊 The Sienna maker jacket looks like a really nice pattern with some lovely details. I’m glad the video has given you some more ideas for Closet Core patterns to try too. I’m tempted by so many of them that I haven’t made yet 🤗
Hi cath your makes are always lovely i have a lot of the same patterns you have but havent made a lot of them yet, seeing your lovely makes i think i will start sewing some if them, thanks for a great video x
Great video Cath. Really good to see so many patterns from one company all together like that. Ill check out your other videos in this series. I've been thinking about getting the Charlie Kaftan but haven't yet and I do have the Kalle Shirtdress but havent made it yet. When I do I think I will look for a way to extend the sleeve as I'd prefer longer sleeves.
Thank you very much, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. I believe Closet Core have released a long sleeve add on pack for the Kalle, so that might be worth checking out 😊
Hey Cath. Your hairstyle in this video is very flattering. Your cropped MileEnd Sweatshirt is my favorite item in this video. Would you consider a Sew Along with the Carolyn Pajamas?
Mile End and Charlie are my faves for sure! That’s interesting about the plateau joggers. I lowered the rise on mine to make them more low rise (I don’t like high rise at all) and they’re still quite high.. I might try the Hudson’s. You’re so right that if jeans aren’t for you… move on 😉 I feel the same way about sewing underwear 😂😂😂laugh
Thanks Rachael! It’s funny isn’t it, I didn’t realise how much more comfortable I found low rise joggers until I tried these! I’d definitely recommend the Hudsons for a lower rise, and the kids version is fab too, in case you fancied trying the mini hudsons for your little boys - my son loves his! Oh I know what you mean re sewing underwear, I’ve never ventured into bra making and not sure I will 😄😄
Lovely lovely makes as always. Random question here though, I seem to remember when you made your pouf you said you made a bag liner for it, what dimensions did you use? Also did you just make a flat draw string bag or was it shaped to fit the pouf. I’ve loads of scraps, but don’t really want to stuff it with loose fabric. My little dog has taken a shine to it so will need to wash it. Many thanks.
Thank you! From memory I think I bought a piece of lightweight calico that was about 1.5m x 3m and folded it in half to make the bag, just a flat drawstring bag, as it was fairly lightweight it scrunched into the pouf fairly ok 😊👍
You are a great ambassador for Closet Core Patterns Cath!! Love the dresses! 😊
Thank you very much Isobel! 😊
100% recommend the Carolyn Pyjamas. Apart from being a fun sew, they're very comfy to wear.
That’s really good to know thank you! They look so pretty, it’s great to know that they are comfy too 👌

Hi Cath, do you think the Charlie kaftan could be worked up as a maternity friendly dress?
I should think so, if you made the version with the gathering under the tab and maybe sized up a little?

Thank you so much! 😊 I started sewing four years ago.
Jeans is not something I would ever like sewing. There are so many things I want and need to make, not those.
