    I think you need to stop apologising for your videos. I always really enjoy them and I think you're doing everything right. Keep making them! As for the Montana dress - it's lovely in the stripe but I can see why you're not happy with it. I've recently bought this pattern and would love to see a sewalong if you make another. I've got some beige linen that I want to make it in but after seeing your video I'm not sure I've got enough 😢. Anyway - another lovely video.❤

      Thank you! I guess I just lose confidence with it sometimes 🙈 I thought I had bought enough fabric for the Montana. It would be easier to bind a woven fabric though if you didn’t want to line xx

    Thanks Sally - I'm so inspired now to tackle my stash! I always love watching your videos and get so many great ideas from them. I made 4 Jarrah sweaters after seeing how great yours turned out and am now thinking of making some Ogden camis and co-ord sets similar to yours. I'm just finishing up a Style Arc Italia shirt dress in a dark lighter weight denim. Love your chatty style! (Terri from Toronto, Canada)

    Well done on sewing up your stash! 👏👏 You now have a good excuse to buy some more 😜
    Also, I really like your stripey dress and you can't tell that there's an issue with the stripes. I'm really impressed as I've recently made a long sleeve top with stripey viscose jersey and the stripe matching was enough for just a top! I also had issues with the sleeves as the stripes are not straight at the bottom of the sleeves which really annoys me but I know noone else would notice.

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress

    I love the Montana dress and have made 4 in different woven fabrics, I think I like it best made in viscose , but I'm happy with all 4 versions.

    Great video Sally. I’m trying to get through my stash and I have found it exciting too. I have more than you had though. I think I will have a go at the Montana ( also in my stash) as I have an art gallery jersey which I was nervous about sewing. I bought some other art gallery jersey for a Westcliff and it’s beautiful fabric but it’s not right in that dress and is a little close. That’s better in a viscose jersey. So treating the art gallery fabric like a woven might be the answer. Wish me luck. Thanks

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress
      @SecretLifeOfASeamstress  Месяц назад

      Yes that sounds like it could work well. I think my viscose jersey would have been fine if it wasn't for the stripes! Good luck xx

    You could make a belt or tie for the Montana dress that would cover the seam….or a home dress is also a good option. I think I’ll have to check out that knitting pattern, looks gorgeous! Don’t think I’m quite at that level yet though. Enjoying your videos.

    Loved this video, well done for using up all your stash. I find a stash really overwhelming, a bit like a never ending to do list, and get a bit stressed when I see the size of some people’s stashes. Loved all your makes, and personally I think the coral colour of your safiya trousers really suits you. The striped Montana dress is lovely, but I can see what you mean about how the strips run off at the waistline. It’s fine for at home as you plan to wear it, but if you had any scraps left you could consider making a sash belt then you could wear it for many occasions. Actually I’d love to know if you have any leftover scraps generally, and what you do with them. I don’t have a big fabric stash but I do have lots of scraps, always looking for uses for them. Always enjoy your videos, thank you

Question: are you able to dry your viscose fabrics in the dryer, or do you have to hang dry? Style Arc need to get their act together. I don't understand why it is acceptable to charge people for a defective product. Re
    " it's for more advanced sewers” there is a big difference between sawing" use French seams throughout", expecting the sewer to know what French stand are and being completely vague and getting a reputation for vague instructions.
    Anyway... Moving along... Am enjoyable video as always :0)
