    When I am performing live I am using a Fishman guitar amp and I am wondering what the amp setting should be set at? Should I have the low, mids, and highs turned down or at 12 o’clock position? Is everything controlled by the DI box? Thank you!

    It's hard to tell how the DI made the guitar sound more natural, just because the ES2 system sounds fairly natural to begin with. To my ear, it seemed like turning the saturation any higher than 12 o'clock actually brought out more of the unnatural pickup sound in the signal. It would be interesting to hear what it does with the more "quacky" pickups such as some of Fishman's.

    I have had this pedal for 2 weeks. How do I get it to not make the treble sounds so tinny and the bass sounds so boomy? It just does not sound "natural" to me with the saturation on. I want to love it the way everyone is saying the do, but so far my set up just seems to sound better without it. Any id3eas? I can tell it's a very well designed and built pedal, though.

    Do me a favor friend; get an Alvarez acoustic; because that will show the world what this pedal can really do? Because I’ve seen three videos, and everyone wants to use an already kick butt acoustic and trying to demonstrate this pedal? Which should be opposite? Thanks.

      BTW I think the Alvarez sounds better than my Taylor 824ce all day long plugged in. ES 2 systems suck and Google that if you don't believe me.

    In general the difference was hard to hear due either to youtube or my headphones, so the description of the sound helped

      i heard in the video, that there was a lot of compression ... at least his voice, so i believe also the guitar signal was compressed ,, extra above the processing of the processor shown, not a problem, but it distorts the way we want to judge the processor himself . maybe he can correct this in a coming video....

    My Songwriter Deluxe EC has a Fishman 4 band EQ, NOTCH dial, and phase button. What do you recommend setting the onboard system, other than volume all the way up, to establish a baseline for the DI?

    Good demo + descriptions. I recently picked one up & it has been a game changer & made my Para DI obsolete. I'm interested to know about the experiences of anyone who has tried using the Session DI w/ the Para DI. Thanks

      The Mad Dalton I did try it and found A/B with and without that adding the para isn't really necessary. -Chris

      I have both DIs on my board. I think that 10 years ago the PADI was the forefront of excellent EQ control on a DI. With the invention of better and better pickups (that are coming out more balanced than ever) in addition to sound boards with equal control the need for on-stage EQ control has dropped considerably. If we're honest, our Front of House sound guy/gal should be setting our EQ. With that in mind the Session is a no brainer because it offers way more non-EQ options than the PADI.

    How does this differ from the Baggs Align Sessions pedal? Is it that pedal, but with addition of the DI? Thanks.

    This pedal is for performing, ie. singing with your guitar with a PA or a combination mic/acoustic amp (Fishman Loudbox and others). Chances are that solo playing at home with an amp you will sound better with the knobs at 9 oclock or less or off....i would guess that opinion would be 50/50 split on this. If you perform it is a must try out pedal.

    Maybe usefull to switch the pedal on and off in every position ? As for me i would use it with nylon strings, which means a specific review.

    Should I get this or Nux Masamune? Nux is cheaper and also has a boost. For me the most important thing is sound quality.

    So is the session di meant to be used to sort out feedback basically ? If so I’m not sure it’s necessary since I have the anthem installed and don’t play live , but do mostly session work .

  • @MurdaMetz
    @MurdaMetz Год назад

    I have one of these , and thought I was going to use it in the studio but unfortunately it doesn’t sound great at all , there’s a heavy squashing of the low end when strumming certain chords and the high end just sound to ice picky . I’m using it with an Alvarez / anthem installed and cannot get a decent sound out of it for the life of me . A pair of mics are the only way to go for any type of studio recording , for live use it’s decent , but there’s no getting around that scratchy squashed noise unfortunately.

    I like your demos, don’t worry about jack butt comments. I have a handmade 12 string. I like the LR Baggs Tru-mic but this handmade is legit with Brazilian back and sides and an Adirondack top ebony fingerboard. I don’t really use percussive like Tommy Emmanuel I just want a natural sound. Is there a best LR Baggs lyric or Anthem or
    the ISO? Looking for guidance Tex? Cali appreciates you, waiting on a friend’s reply.

    I'm thinking about picking one of these up, but I'm curious as to how well it will work on a small pedalboard setup? I'm looking to add a reverb, chorus, and (potentially) a delay to my setup. Will this work well with effects routing? Does this need to be first or last in the effects chain?

    • @sheridanhenson2886
      @sheridanhenson2886 7 лет назад

      I don't know that you're going to find that much reverb is necessary with the Session. If you choose to go forward with it I would check out the AD-2, but you're not going to need much.

    • @jamesbond4633

      There is an effects loop on the Venue Model which I have ..so you would add your effects that way. I have a BOSS Delay ..chorus and a soul bender for solos on the effects loop and it is great!! You could probably add a compression pedal ..and the Venue model has 5 band eq and a tuner..probably better way to go.

    Would you recommend this over the Boss AD-2 for my Taylor with ES1? Is it worth the extra money?

    • @sheridanhenson2886
      @sheridanhenson2886 7 лет назад

      I highly recommend the Boss AD-2 coupled with the ES1. However, the Boss + Session DI is overkill since the Session already has Saturation. I own both the Session and the AD-2 and use them both on my board for different purposes.

    • @ebookpioneers

      Better to find an old Boss AD-5. That was _the_ one to have.
