Love it! I do think there was a missed opportunity in this video to compare the sound with the pedal turned on and off so we can really hear the effect
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I imagine by now you are aware, the input jack on top of the Delay pedal is to add a tap tempo foot switch.
I started with the reverb pedal just for the heck of it. It was so great I got the chorus next. I have used the Boss CH2 for decades very mildly. My old friend the CH2 got retired. Lastly I went for the delay pedal. I thought what could it do over the ones I have been using. Again a winner. These pedals are designed for acoustic guitars. They blend your natural signal with the effected signal very nicely. I can't describe the difference to regular guitar pedals if you are picky on your acoustic guitar sound you wont be disappointed.
I've never been into extreme FX pedals. I use the reverb with both acoustic (Fender parlour, Taylor Baby, old Eko 'Electra' 12 string as well as a Squier thinline and a Squier 3/4 Strat) - perfect for all.
Thank you, Christopher, for touching on the difference between Active and Passive pickup systems (with or without onboard preamp), which can be a confusing topic. Great explanation of the effects! Lloyd Baggs and company have such a wealth of experience and engineering expertise, it's hard to find anything better for keeping acoustic guitarists and sound engineers happy.
Hi Chris. Nice job, as usual. These Baggs pedals are not just for guitar. Two years ago, on a whim, I bought ‘90s Zeta solid-body electric cello to broaden my horizons beyond guitar & piano. The piezo pickup sounds lifeless & harsh. Running it through my Grace BiX made it louder, not better. Enter Baggs Align series pedals. I use 3 of them- Session, Delay & Reverb - then my MXR Clone Looper & a passive Whirlwind DI. The Zeta sound is transformed into a lush, organic wave you just want to get lost in. Love these pedals. I wish they made one pedal with all FX , just to avoid repeated A/D D/A conversions. I’ve also put the Session between a Strat & clean amp for sweetening. Highly recommend.
Excellent deep dive into the Great LR Baggs Align Series! Does anyone else wonder if LR Baggs would put them all into one pedal? All five will be about $1,000, which is prohibitive.
Thanks Chris. Your knowledge of how to use the LR Baggs accessories. I had the Para Acoustic box years ago and used it with my older pre ES Taylor 410. It really did the JOB. I sold it with the 410 like an idiot. Wish I still had it. I’ll check out this series. As an aside: I installed a Baggs I-mix in my Taylor Leo Kottke 12 string before they were even on the market. Doyle Dykes recommended it and told me how to contact them using his name to get the new system. Once again, it was wonderful!
Yes, I think Jdb, took the words right out my mouth. Particulary with the Reverb, I could maybe hear a little Delay. However, the sound didn't say, this is Reverb, or oh yeah, this is Delay.
I have the full LR Baggs Anthem installed in a couple of my acoustic guitars which I love, and I've looked at these LR Baggs pedals and they sound great but over the last couple of years I've become a minimalist and changed from individual pedals to a single Sonicake Sonic Wood pedal for my acoustics. But LR Baggs are definitely sweet products. The Venue is still a popular goto.
The Sonicake regrettably has no compressor, and only 2-band EQ. Otherwise an interesting option, of course. Glad you‘re happy with it, and simplicity indeed rules.
@@scottbecker3485 Yes true and to clarify I simply replaced those individual pedals with the Sonicake but I do still use Boss GE-7 EQ and Wampler Ego compressor pedals.
@@shaneroberts9466 Ah, yes: So you are using compression and EQ in addition. Now it all makes sense. :-) Nice choice of pedals! I use two MXR 10-band EQs (for 2 different guitars) on my board, and the Cali 76 Compact compressor. The MXRs are fantastic, and don‘t color my sound when bypassed or set to flat, unlike many digital EQs I‘ve tried.
@@scottbecker3485 My Boss GE-7 has been rewired using the monteallums GE-7 Plus mod kit. The GE-7 is not bad stock but the mod kit takes this EQ to another level. I was hesitant but it exceeded expectations. BTW I'm not affiliated with monteallums.
@@shaneroberts9466 Interesting to learn of such mods. Sounds like a winning option, though I‘ll happily stick with my 10-band MXR EQs, which I feel give me a wider spectrum of more of the right frequencies for my tweaking needs.
Got Boss RV-6. For me it's all in one box for acoustic. You got Modulate+Reverb, Delay+Reverb, and the luscious Shimmer, not to mention others out of 8 effects on board.
Hi! Thank for this review! Could you compare L.R.BAGGS Align Reverb with Strymon Flint Tremolo & Reverb? Wich one being better for acoustic guitar pedalboard?
Hello. I am thinking about the LR Baggs Voiceprint. What other pedals, probably from the Align series would you recommend. I am one of those plugging into a church soundboard, albeit a nice sound board. Thank you.
Question... If I have the Session DI, Align Delay, Align Reverb, and a Strymon Cloudburst (for ambient effects which I seldom use)... would a TC Electronic Body Rez work in the signal chain or is it overkill because there is a compressor on the Session DI? Just a note. I use VERY LITTLE reverb and delay on my sound. (Running a Martin D18 with Baggs HiFi pickup.)
So .. I use my mxr reverb and analog delay. No offense but why spend more money on "specialty " pedals when you can get what you want with what you already have
Don’t like the chorus, it doesn’t sound like an acoustic guitar, too spacey. However, Baggs makes great pickups. I have one on my Gibson J45 Deluxe and it has the best string separation where you can hear all six strings individually while strumming.
pedals have no way of knowing whether it is an acoustic or electric guitar that is being plugged into it .. that said, pedals, especially d.i., reverb, eq and compressor, can effectively be used both for electric and acoustic guitars .. you just have to tweak them to your own sound preference or liking .. simply put, to me, non-acoustic specific pedals like d.i., reverb, eq and compressor are equally fine for acoustic guitars😅
There is no such thing as "best pedal". For my acoustics I use K&K systems. Love their plugged in sound. But not say they're "the best". I dont use L.R.Baggs. Not my kind of sound, thanks...

Hey, Chris. If these are acoustic pedals, why are you surrounded by electric guitars? Nice vid, as always.

Great stuff from these guys ...greetings from Ireland ....

Make a video about DI for acoustic guitars

I have been enjoying the podcast, thanks.
My wife says I have enough guitars for now...maybe I need some pedals...?
Hello. I am thinking about the LR Baggs Voiceprint. What other pedals, probably from the Align series would you recommend. I am one of those plugging into a church soundboard, albeit a nice sound board. Thank you.
Wow this is interesting Chris. Would wanna hear the EQ DI with a Martin SC13E or a 000-15M.
😂😂 " playing next to a clown making balloon animals machine" 😂😂😂 Great reviews sir 👏
I have just purchased a JBL prx one should I use a DI to plug my Martin HD28 in it has an LR Baggs pickup

What pedal would you recommend for the new Fender Highway series?
Any advice how to get a stereo signal with the LR reverb pedal???
Can I use the equalizer only instead of the active DI?
Hi Chris, do I need an active DI or passive DI if my electric acoustic guitar that has onboard active preamp that operated by a 9V battery?
The division button on delay changes quarter notes to dotted 8th notes.......7:20
I do have one question, do these work better with one type of guitar pickup or will it work with all type?
Amazing video! Where would the best spot in the chain be to add in a tuner pedal?
First.
Hi, can you make a video of the Fender CN-60S, a classic guitar with neck at size of an acoutic guitar ???
Be cool to see these used with the new Acoustisonic Player
Ah nah brah
I missed it if u said but are all these true-bypass?
So .. I use my mxr reverb and analog delay. No offense but why spend more money on "specialty " pedals when you can get what you want with what you already have
Other people dont already have what you already have.
Does anyone know if these pedals would work with a Fender Acoustasonic, using the acoustic modes?
They’d sound awesome with an Acoustasonic!
@@AlamoMusic Thank you!!
Do I really need $750 of pedals to make my LR Baggs pick up sound good?

Dude, 6 min before I heard a pedal, very frustrating. Less talk 🙏
No delay or chorus on an acoustic. Too washed out; other pedals sound good. A touch of verb, session, and EQ is nice.
This dude literally used every buzz word in the ad copy lol
There is no such thing as "best pedal". For my acoustics I use K&K systems. Love their plugged in sound. But not say they're "the best". I dont use L.R.Baggs. Not my kind of sound, thanks...
Ive just bought my fourth Align pedal which got me thinking is there a specific pedal board for these pedals ?.
