Another great video with some good advice. I often use a radio frequency scanner to check that EMF anomalies and rem pod triggers aren't being caused by RF interference and as you so rightly say this can also affect wireless CCTV. If setting up time is limited for whatever reason then maybe standard video cameras are best with a wireless system used just to 'prompt' the investigators. Where wired CCTV is used that has no audio I've come up with an idea that incorporates Zoom h1n Voice recorders hard wired back to the control room and LED audio VU meters which 'spike' on the TV monitor if any sound is detected in the room and then alerts the investigator(s) to concentrate for a while on that area. Where more than 1 room is being monitored a simple audio switching box can be used to listen in to exactly what audio is being recorded in any given room at one time as well as seeing it on the video monitor. (The VU meters just provide a visual indication of which room to switch to to monitor the audio that is already being recorded by the voice recorder in that room.) This is just a setup idea I've developed but I wanted to share it with you guys in case anyone finds it helpful.

Good thinking, try to rule out false positives when ever possible! That sounds like quite the set up your proposing, despite setup time cctv can still be a useful tool but not right for every situation.

We have started to use body cams on tripods. They have audio, onboard IR and with an external battery pack attached they can run all night long. They are also very small which is great compared to the multiple cases it takes to transport a DVR system.

Good to hear from you. That sound like a very innovative solution, small and nimble setups are a certainly a huge time saver!

Do you mind sharing the swann model and type of cameras you are using? I am having a hard time finding cameras on Swann website that are capable with tripods.

Hope you’re still checking these older sites. But I been using camcorders but I’m looking to expand now that I’m doing larger properties. I’m just curious because most of these places don’t have electricity. What would you recommend for a power supply?

If you’re checking out places that don’t have power, then camcorders are probably your best bet as you can battery swap, that’s our go to in those situations. If your trying to run cctv in a place without power, your gonna need a generator, that’s going to require fuel and extra extension cords and add additional noise to the environment. We would stick to the camcorders!

Camcorders only for me. Easier and used ones on eBay are plentiful.
