Great! I sang this with Leopold Stokowski conducting the American Symphony Orchestra in Carnegie Hall in 1965. Love it! What a great use of this beautiful station. I hope it will encourage the random listeners to patronize live music! --Ray Pool, New York City
I've heard this wonderful piece of music more times than I can count and it still gives me goosebumps. Magnificent.
I love your random acts of culture. All things considered, I'd rather be in Philadelphia.
It`s a fantastic video.
The timpanist rocking the Brian Dawkins jersey... priceless!
2:28 "This octupus, let's give him boots...
send him to North Korrrrreeeaaaa!"
I can never unhear the misheard lyrics
My pop and I were there, singing the misheard lyrics because we forgot the actual words!! Don't think anyone noticed but us, but by the end we were laughing more than singing. He died a few years after this, but it's one of the most shining memories I have of him.
I will never not hear "SALSA COOKIES!! WINDMILL COOKIES!!"
Flash Mob ain't got nothing on that. Thank you. I was looking for a more complete ver. Flash Mobs RUclips upload is too short.
What a great show. Thank you for your upload.
From Carmina Burana stunning!!!
If this was organized to be sang at my high school I would voluntarily participate!
Wow, this was just too amazing! !! That is why I love the big cities for such awesome events as this!!!! I was truly amazed with these videos!!!
From Carmina Burana, glorious.
I have had a pretty great life. One of my last remaining dreams is to once experience a flashmob live ;)
Only love could drive this.

I clicked subscribe before the end of this video
I LOVE 30th Street Station!
I really must get my girls out to see you guys perform
put your cameras down - live the moment !
watching it later - you may as well watch it on youtube.
Carmina Burana ranks right up there with the Messiah as 2 of the greatest choral works ever written.
even haters of classical music have to admit this makes your body flow with dopamine!
Georgios Z. , I notice that no one who says they don't like "classical" or "modern classical" music isn't leaving the movie theater or covering their ears when they are being surrounded by a movie score filled with it, which tells me it is far more about their attitude and perception than anything to do with actual taste in or objective judgement of the music.
Was waiting for King Arthur and his knights to ride through the hall.
Thank You ... for sharing !
Wonderful, thank you!!!
Love it! Go Random Acts!
Simply brilliant!!
Thanks Stacey! Loved it!

GIVES YOU A HAPPY FEELING!!!!

The 9 people who liked your comment didn't notice your bad grammar.
Lol
Fabulous!
The schedule board is no more 😢. So sad cause it was a piece of 30th Street Station history. But the video is cool. I wish I was at one of these Random Acts of Culture performances. And the sound in 30th Street must've been amazing to hear. So very cool! Makes me proud of being a Philadelphian and the city too.😍🚇🚕🚍🥁🎻
Wonderful!!!

Top 10 Reasons On How To Make Carmina Burana MORE Spectacular:
MARAVILHA ESTE FLASMOB. BELA MUSICA, BELA ORQUESTRA.SÃO APENA 4 MINUTOS MAS QUE FICARÃO PRESENTES EM MINHA MENTE E MEU CORAÇÃO ETERNAMENTE. GOSTARIA MUITO DE TER VISTO AO VIVO. PARABENS A ESTES EXCELENTES MÚSICOS.
Em nome de um dos cantores nativos da cidade - obrigado!
“ Ain’t got no culture “ if you disliked this !
Well, a fitting song for Philly.
Maravilhoso
I love these flash mob events, and I especially want to thank the Opera Co. of Philadelphia for their attempts to bring cultural fun to their constituents.
That said, I am always surprised at the surprised audience, quickly trying to take cellphone camera photos---what could they possibly capture?
Just this morning during breakfast I watched two different people enter the restaurant where I was having breakfast fully engaged in a phone conversation. One continued the conversations seated at her table. Since people have these public conversations on their cell phones which we are forced to hear (if not listen), no one should be able to object to public solos and recitals.
Hmm - kinda makes one think that school concerts (high school, at minimum) should *generally* take place in open public spaces like this: terminals, malls, etc. Imagine if winter concerts were held in tandem with things like Santa Claus photo ops, decorated by the arts department, staged by the theater department, etc.
Put down your cell phones and enjoy the time you are there!!!!!!,
bill Riek They are filming it to enjoy the time they were there time and again.
bill Riek Its important for them to tell people that they were there than really being there
Rock on my fellow female percussionist!
Wow! It's Philly, and the crowd isn't boo-ing?"
BRAVI!!!
The only thing missing is some action movie star running away from an explosion!
...back when culture was less weaponized.
If just one person suddenly breaks out in public doing a song or dance, or playing an instrument, they are usually seen as deranged. Too bad because what's wrong with it? We need more exuberant spontaneous arts, it should be a normal natural thing to do.
Dorothyellen w, since people have random conversations to seemingly no one on their cell phones, no one should be able to object to public solos and recitals.
Some egregious vibrato coming from the women here. Sad.
2:32 Man~Why you shoot me ??? Don't shoot me man ~I'm just wanna go to buy a cup of Starbucks.......
have to agree, song was great, wish i could have seen it, the editing wasn't to bad but the abrut zooming runied the video....
You guys are due for another one, no?
Great music, great idea but I would have appreciated if the video had focused on the singers and musicians more instead of the ribbon dance performance.
Pena que no Brasil não se faça isso.
I would’ve left. This song scares me.
this is like final fantasy 7 soundtrack
Eblouissant
Waiting for the Knights of the Round Table and King Arthur to gallop through.....

2:32 Black guy is like "Man I wasn't looking at her Ass I swear ! "
Waiting to see Damian pop out .
Oh not Damien. King Arthur!
lol, the black guy at 2:32 is like "wtf white people"
My wife and I were able to witness this beautiful piece in person. It was absolutely stunning. And I'm in video production myself, so I was really excited to see the cameras there, but honestly I wasn't impressed with the video, just doesn't do the piece justice. Too much zooming, cuts are too quick, there's no emotion. I've spent 10 years working in the industry, and honestly, a cell phone video would have been better. Hey Philly Opera Company, hire some professionals next time!!
Black guy at 2:32 ... "Damn white people"....
It looks more like live music decided to patronize them! Nice job to the OCP.
let the Germans show you how it's done
Carmina-Burana-Flashmob der Chorakademie Dortmund
That was excellent! Thanks for the suggestion!
Great song, but the editing gives me a headache! Too bad, this could have potentially been wonderful :(
make that piano go away!
Magnificent music & venue; lousy editing! Too many cross cuts too rapidly done; no lingering upon the joy of one random child. Visually frenetic, without the power of the piece done in images. And that's too bad....
in a church
...and we welcome our supreme overlord Satan
DISLIKED. I love O Fortuna, but this is just horrific... the singing is so terrible it's cringeworthy to sit here and listen to it, I had to muster a bit of self discipline just to stomach the entire performance. The voices are shrill and out of tone... They can't even pronounce the Latin correctly ("Semper CreSis" as opposed to "Semper CreSHees" and "a-see-em" instead of "a-chee-em"? Really?) I love Caramina Burana, but if I had heard this rendition of the masterpiece first, I would have never sought out the beauty to begin with and be able to make this criticism!
I am no expert in voices but I have
stumbled upon the pronunciation issue before - I noticed the pronounciation of those words containing c differs. I am still waiting for an explanation from a Latin expert but I understand the pronunciation of c changed in the course of centuries and I guess that is the reason for the difference...
Wonderful !!!
