    It is said: "if machu picchu is clouded or rainning when you arrive there, it is because the APUS (gods) want you return many times in future because you are special". Thanks for share your emotions visiting my country

    13:58: I did propose to my now wife after climbing Huayna Picchu: I remember getting to the top and acting all nervous because people were taking pictures, and I could not find a spot to bend the knee. Anyway, it was beautiful. I thought of doing it on Machu Picchu mountain, but Huayna Picchu is nicer.

    Great you felt the peacefullness of MachuPicchu . It is one of the positive enery spots in the World . . . I felt the same 20 years ago. But I didn't say anything at that time. It was after 20 years and seeing some videos as yours that I knew that what I felt was not the only one. Great lifetime experience . . .

    Awesome video, guys. Amazing place that's on my bucket list. Especially loved your pointing out how Incas got from one terrace to another by building in those little stones sticking out of the terrace walls. And loved the free-range llamas creating their own human congestion points, like bear, moose or bison in our national parks, but less deadly! 😊

      Thank you so much!! We loved Machu Picchu, it's such a magical place. Yes haha the llamas did not care about the humans and made lots of congestion haha

    In the Peruvian Andes there is a tree called Molle. It we do not have an available bug spray, can use the leaves as natural bug spray. Just cut some of them as rug onto your arms and legs. It has a strong nice smell that repells any kind of insects

    Thank you so much for sharing amazing tips and details. Loved it 🤩. Just wondering, did you go with any tour or booked everything by yourself. I am travelling solo in a week and confused as most tour does not cover machu picchu mountain.

      @MaddieTravel  2 года назад

      Ahh thank you for your kind words 💛. We went on our own, buying tickets was a bit confusing for Machu Picchu mountain. We think a tour might be nice to learn more about the history, but we enjoyed being on our own schedule and wandering through the ruins. Let us know if you have any other questions!! Thanks for watching and being a subscriber ♥️

    Hi, good channel! I have a question. Do you recommend doing a circuit first and then a mountain? Or the opposite? Will be there in July with our 6 year old 😬 Also, do you remember what circuit did you do?

    • @MaddieTravel
      @MaddieTravel  Год назад +1

      Depending on the mountain, there are specific times that you have to hike at. I did Circuit 3, and so I had to start the mountain hike at 7am and then, after the mountain walked around the ruins. Have so much, you will LOVE it!!

  • @MarlonAndGabriela

    What circuit did you guys do?
    Ever since we landed in Peru, everything has been a complete sh%tshow! All of our plans have been completely disrupted, flights canceled, strikes, and now MP is closed for 2 days! Ugh more than likely never coming back to Peru after this fiasco but thanks for sharing your experience glad they were better than ours.

    • @MaddieTravel
      @MaddieTravel  2 года назад +1

      I'm so sorry to hear that your trip hasn't been smooth sailing. Honestly, we experienced something very similar. There were massive strikes happening, the train going to MP was closed, we couldn't travel to a town we wanted to because of the roadways closed etc. We stuck it out in Lima and then everything went back to normal and we could continue on with our trip.
      We hope everything resolves itself and you guys can have a great rest of your trip!!
      We did the Machu Picchu Mountain + circuit 3 I believe is what it's called. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and being a subscriber 💛

    Thanks for the video! Few questions! Where did you get your bus tickets beforehand - how long does it take to get them? We are planning on the afternoon before we go.
    Question about directions (from a person who gets lost a lot lol): When they scan your ticket to enter Machu Picchu area, do they guide you to the circuit you're supposed to do/how do they separate you? Do you just keep showing the guards/employees your ticket as you go through the circuit breaks and they help you?

    • @MaddieTravel
      @MaddieTravel  2 года назад

      Glad you liked it!! So you buy the bus tickets at the bus office. It's near the train tracks, and the creek that runs through town, like 1 sidewalk up the hill from the tracks, kinda hard to describe where this is... Ask anyone and they will be able to point you in the correct direction. People are so friendly and helpful there, just keep asking until you find it.
      We bought our tickets the day before (we stayed in Aguas Caliente for 2 days), there were only like 2 people in line before us so we waited 10 minutes. But later that night the line had like 30 people in it to buy their tickets. I'm not sure what time of day is the best time to buy tickets. Maybe we got lucky or those people got really unlucky.
      This last question is the question of the century hahah the whole different tickets loops etc confused me soooo much!!! We just kept asking people and showing our tickets to the workers and then pointed ha.
      We knew we had to enter to climb the mountain in between 7-8am so until then we just wandered and kinda did whatever we wanted in between 6:30-7:30ish. If you're not climbing one of the mountains make sure you take it slow cause you can't backtrack. So once you start going down there's no going back up and they're very strict on this. In the early morning we were able to wander and do whatever but when I went back through in the afternoon it was like herding sheep.
      This was very long, but I hope you found it helpful!!

      @@MaddieTravel I appreciate all the info! For the circuit, did you have to tell them at the beginning which one you picked if you got the llaqta ticket then they write it or stamp it (since it gives the options os 1,2,3,4 on the ticket), or you just tell them which one as you go through?

    • @MaddieTravel
      @MaddieTravel  2 года назад

      At the beginning you go through a gate and they look at your ticket and passport. Our tickets were on our phones so they didn't stamp anything we just kept showing our phone to workers and they pointed us. Make sure to screen shot your ticket.

      @@MaddieTravel You are the BEST with this info! So you're tickets were for Montaña Machupicchu + Circuito 3? I'm re-watching the video, again and again, and it get's better every time - you did great with the editing!

    • @Kelly-uh9yf

      The reason I am asking is because I thought you couldn't get to that terrace area with the view if you got the Montaña Machupicchu + Circuito 3 ticket.

      @@MaddieTravel Hi, sorry for asking about the circuit question. Do you have to exit once finish the Machu Picchu mountain hike and then reenter? I am thinking about continuing your trip without leaving and re-enter. (In this way..., I think after the mountain hike, we can just continue with circuit 1 or 2 as it is on the same route LOL) Thanks!
