Thanks for such a comprehensive explanation of the full range of reels that you utilize for the different fishing conditions. Wished this was available before I geared up!
Another awesome video! It was really good to see how you strategized your equipment according to what fish you were targeting at what depth, conditions and how frisky the fish are. The overlap definitely helps if one is limited on equipment. But of course don't compromise on quality line.
Hello from GREECE. Congratulations for your very detailed video. I want to ask you about the red protector you use on the back of your rods. What exactly is it and where could I get it? Thank you very much!!!
The cadence of lighter jigs on rods made for heavier jigs will be fast and appealing. you still get bites, but they won't be frequent. You have to understand...slow jigging is a finesse fishing method and it was invented to get strikes when conditions are tough - when the fishing is not at its peak in between peak times - so it has very little wiggle room - this is probably the most misunderstood detail of the whole slow jigging system.
Great vid as always! For pe line. isnt it the deeper you go the thinner the line to prevent scoping? When wud you use an x4 vs x8 lines? How much drag do you use? Thanks
4x has less stretch than 8x, 8 is stronger. So it depends on what you prioritize. For me, it would be a waste to not use 4x on a system that's very sensitive. The deeper you go the more apparent the need or the usefulness of the correct combo, not just the line. Drag - would rather not touch this topic as people have their own thoughts about this and are quite stubborn in their ways...so I will just say my drags are set right.
@@TheFishingKit appreciate your info. I just wana hear your thoughts on drag application. I cud care less what others say. Most of your vids helped me alot tbh . So your system realy works. Cheers and keep it up! I always tell friends to check your vids when their starting spj. =)
Hey mate. Loving the videos! The adajo, you seemed to rate it. They seem good for yhe price and s true slow pitch rod. If im fishing say 60-80 metres with fairly high current, would you siggest this for a good startjng point? I currently have two other rods and looking at a third to work in a heavier current situation
Cork drags ensure that your leaders (or any other mistakes you have) won't pop when the pressure increases...it eases into the drag pressure you set the reel in, carbon drags are great if you are confident that your knots and terminals are spot on. Both are good, just that I believe cork drags give you a bit more when it comes to fighting fish with lighter line and leader.
I have a reel what rod should I get. I don’t know where I will be fishing, I want a setup to take with me when I travel just to have something for jigging when I the opportunity comes up. Can you give me a direction on the rod blank specs it should have and what jigs to use? The reel retrieves 75cm per crank, has 10kg drag rating and holds 270m 0.30mm mono. The spool has a max outer diameter of 42.6mm (line will be a bit less) and 31.2mm inner width. Thanks!

Watcing your videos I'll need to get some smaller profile jigs and possibly a stronger rod. I currently run saltiga 12 in pe2.
It's a good budget option, it's not a true slow jigging rod - It's an Asian Style rod. I believe the adajo goes up to 500g I might be mistaken, but this was my work rod back in the day, so yes, it does the job.
Hey boss, I bought a Ecooda Black Expert II slow jigging spinning rod and I plan to match it with my BG Daiwa 6500. We plan to fish from 70-250 meters. May I have your opinion on whay size line I should use on my Daiwa 6500?
as someone who's trying to get into slow jigging for the first time, thank you for the video, however long story short i'm gonna go bankrupt because unlike speed jigging which i can make do with one rod one reel for anytime of the days, now i have to get multiple set ups for different wind condition and current. =')
fast or slow reels depend on the user. instead of one full turn, you can crank half or quarter turns on fast reels. But I believe the main factor for slow vs fast is the fish you're targeting. once the fish is hooks, it can bolt to the surface or towards the fisherman. And this is where the fast reel is needed to keep up with the fish and line tension. To me the fast reel can be slow but a slow reel can't be fast.

As always great information and knowledge. Two questions. I am a freshwater fisherman and was thinking about trying slow pitch jigging for lake trout in 40-250 foot of water. Have you heard of people using this technique in fresh water? Second I picked up a goofish PE 1-2 pink rod. Is that a decent rod for the job?
Goofish is not good. Its the rod version of a "get rich fast" scam. I often ask people why they dont subscribe to get rich fast scams but subscribe to unbreakable rods.
