Excellent video! I just got into slow pitch jigging. I’m a little confused and I could be wrong but it appears that you are reeling as you lower the rod tip after it rebounds from the lift. Is that correct because I’ve always been told to only take cranks on the upswing. Please help me on this. Ty
The general rule is reel on the up, not on the down. But, there's exceptions. I will sometimes reel on the fall to reposition the jig in the water, or to purposely cut the action short, depending on how I want to present the jig
You basically can do whatever you like... 😂 Mostly fish will hit upon pause and fall, up movement will entice the fish to follow... Just understand each jig, because they are different... 🤷♂️
@@bennyortiz2770 I've been having trouble picking a setup I'm new to jigging I want a rod and reel that can work nomad vibe lures, jigs, cut and live baiting for bottom fish. Is the grappler type j and talica 12 || a good idea ?
@@bringit3164 thanks for the reply but benny already told me what i need to know, we dont jig in jamaica at all but i do know the difference between the two. Gods will 2025 ill be getting into slow pitch jigging and vibing.
A slow pitch jigging rod is different in the tip to a rod needed for nomad vibing. You need a stiffer tip to get the vibe to work correctly we use the nomad rods built for that and found they work best @@razeemnepaul8597
Another great installment in this series Benny! Love it!
What rod and reel combo would you suggest for yellowtail fishing in San Diego, preferably around the Coronado Islands?
How deep are you fishing and how's your current there?
Finally a video where I can hear the drag of the reel. The music was annoying though

@@ciliiyou But doesn’t reeling on the down negate the action of the jig? How will it flutter or swing if you’re applying pressure to it by reeling?
Is this a one piece or two piece rod?
It's two piece, butt-jointed
What size jigs is that rod rated for ?
There were several used, but there are 4 models (ML, M, MH, H) that max from 280g through 500g depending on model
