The Ocea Jigger only comes in a right hand option at the moment, it's possible that a left hand version will be released in the future although this hasn't been confirmed.
Last year I used my ocea jigger 2000 HG for speed jigging GTs and other big pelagics up to 60 lb. You reckon the LD version will have a lot better torque and cranking power to pull up big fish?
Overhead reels in general tend to generate more torque than your standard spin reels (eggbeaters). The LD provides a similar level of torque and crank to the Ocea Jigger star drag model, given you're comparing the same size reels, however, the drag on a star drag is weaker and therefore it can fall short against those hard hitting species such as GT, Kings and Doggies. In situations like this, the Ocea Jigger LD with the stronger drag capacity can apply more force to the fish and up your odds of not getting smoked by something big.
Right handle for left hand right? I wonder why no one complaining the dont make it for right hand ppl. Or for overhead reel, right handled means right hand? Im spinning reel user, i use right handle to have more power in handling rod using left hand
The HG is a high gear speed and the MG is a medium gear speed. I usually recommend the HG for jigging applications and MG for dropping down baits but the MG is also recommended when targeting species where you'll need additional cranking power
Great video - very thorough description of the reel and its new features!
Thanks for your feedback Ian!
Very professional review, best one I have seen yet well done - new subscriber👍
Very descriptive and helpful info Will 🙏🤙
Appreciate it mate!
Thanks for the informative video, what rod would you pair this with?
This is wonderful video! Could you tell us how heavy is the spool? I might consider it for casting.
Enjoyed video thank you. No left hand option?
