Absolutely a great and ingenious idea. My company 8 W9’s and a bunch of 880’s. I just picked up a 20t bottle jack and I’m headed to the shop to build this bad boy so I can do the pins on my W9. Thank you very much for the great idea
Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!!! I have a school bus that is stuck on 2x 6 Ton jacks, and I can't remove my king pins, 28 year old king pins. All solutions were $1358 at the lowest for presses. I can make this in my garage no problem and I already have a 20 ton jack, the piston is slightly larger than the 12 ton jacks so I'll have to make something there, but still cheaper than the tool.
Update. I made my tool similar to yours, slightly different using I-Beams only. My pins are out! Thanks for the idea! Saved me $1900. Scrap metal cost $100.
