    the same type of king pin I have replaced about two months ago. It took me 3 days to change all 4 of them on an Astra HD 8, 8x4 truck. But they wouldn't come out nowhere near that easy. Taking them out i had to use a 50 tone press, a 15 kg hammer and on one of them also the gas torch to crack the rust.
    The worst part doe in replaicing them is the locking bolts which can make you a really really hard time to take out.
    The only king pins that you can take out with a hummer in Europe might be the cone ones.
    Every time I watch your videos it seams that everything works perfectly smooth and all of the parts come out easy.
    Great content! Keep them coming!

    Great video to stumble on. I really enjoyed it. With the cotter pins, if you clamp on them with the diagonal cutters and use a pivot point like a wrench or a bolt to roll the pliers on. The nut usually works fine. Just dont smoke the exposed threads. It pulls them out like nothing almost every time. Those tie rod covers are awesome to beat on just ordered some. Thanks again!

    this usually requires the use of a thirty ton press

    Surprised you don't use an air powered nut runner(ratchet) to run down those grease plate bolts.
    Also look into larger size cotter pins. Can hammer in the big end for a snug fit and the pin doesn't wiggle around. I always use the largest size that will fit.

    Great video! How long on average does a air gun last you?

    • @raduberaru9369
      @raduberaru9369 3 года назад

      It seams that on any vid about a tool box tour every guy talks about the air guns as the old gears still in the drawer (had it about atleast 4 years and still working, some of them said even 8 years USA ). I had a hazet air gun lasted indeed 4 Europe made.. The Chinese ones keep at the max 1 year.

      They need to be oiled a lot, it's all about maintenance. If they're properly oiled with every use they should last a really long time. Someone on Facebook gave me hundreds of old sockets and stuff for free, some were rusted really bad. In the same non-weather proof shack the sockets were in, there was also an air ratchet. He offered to give it to me saying he isn't sure if it works. Well, I happily and gratefully took it and cleaned it up with pb blaster and by using mineral oil on it. It works perfectly. The air ratchet is probably 20 years old
