So I've been doing a king pin job for 3 months now. It's a 28 year old axle 8000lbs, for a Bus, and NOTHING has gone as smoothly as you do yours in your videos. Kind of makes me sick tbh, not at you but that mine are so difficult to do. I've learned that on these older ones they have slightly tighter tolerances and the king pins last longer as a result, but makes it 3 times more difficult to do everything. I had to drill my keys out on removal, I used heat as you have used exactly. Heat didn't even work to remove them. I had to drill the axle key holes out 1/2in to get the new draw keys to insert as much as yours do in your videos, Previous guy i think welded my keys in and it warped the width of the draw key holes. It's been a literal nightmare for me. So additional axle repair was needed, but I'm finally at the stage where I can insert the draw keys as you seem to do so easily. This was my first king pin job as well, and also probably the worst I'll ever do in the future, it can only get easier from here as more modern ones seem to install easier. Thanks for the videos though as I learned from them.
Depends on if the eyes are ovaled or not. Pins can come out easily still. It depends on what was binding it up in the first place. This guy just has a magic touch though, it all seems easy when he works on them.
Holy crap this was a cool video! Amazing how you guys make it look easy. Very cool!
Bushing replacement?
I wanted to see bushing replacement and seal
