- Vampire Diaries: The History Of The Originals. The Mikaelsons have a fascinating story that spans over 1000 years. Their existence in the vampire world was known to only but a few which is ironic as every modern day vampire is linked back to each of the Mikaelson siblings lines respectively. They were the first of their kind, the primary species, the fundamental vampires. In todays video I’ll be analysing, explaining and revealing their history, how they came to be and the consequences that came with their creation.

In the intro for clarification when esther gave up freya to dahlia they were living in the old world and esther lied to michael that she had died of plague when he had gone to war.. then they ended up moving to the new world and the advice of her witch friend ayana to escape the plague and thats where they found the werewolf community
Also the vampire creation is a perversion of qetsiyahs original immortality spell.. its important to note that ayana who is a descendant of qetsiyah warned esther of the consequences of performing the spell cause of her supposer understanding of what her ancestor did

It has been thought that as Michael was an abusive father he was also an abusive husband. The truth is so much worse. For how can a powerful witch like Esther Possibly be afraid of a mortal. The truth is she valued her marriage to her husband a lot more than the welfare of her own children. Only abuse the 6 of them have suffered at the hands of Michael, Finn, Elijah, Niklaus, Rebecca, Kol, even Henrik… She let it all happen she let it, and that makes her the most hypocritical and despicable woman in all of history. Dahlia once called Michael a Berserker which makes me think that was his viking tribe. In rl history says they used anger to increase the brutality. I think in VD it was hatred, there’s a different; they don’t need a reason, they just hate as simple as that. Klaus once asked him, why did he hate Klaus so much, and said “I just did”. Michael needed someone to fuel his hatred and unfortunately it he chose Nicklaus. Some also thought that he suspected Klaus wasn’t his son, but that isn’t true, he always believed Klaus was until he activated his lycanthropy.

Speaking of Esther, the same actress plays wife Wendy on Ozark. There are so many parallels with both of those characters, she's an amazing actress

I don't think the spell Esther used to create vampires was one from Tessa because it said in season 4 of the vampire diaries that only Tessa had that spell, so I think she just made up a whole new spell since she did it twice one with her children and two with Alaric and also Vicent used the same spell on Lucien in season 3 of the originals. Thats just my thought though since it was stated that nobody knew the immortality spell other than Tessa.
Agreed! If I'm correct her original spell didn't have an anchor or a binding agent and that's why it was better than Esther's however after she found out Silas cheated and took the spell she decided to make a binding agent out of Amara.
The spell esther used was a corrupted immortality spell. She tried going to ayana in hopes of her being able to use to perfected version( the one silas n qetsiyah have) but ayana refused, stating that what esther was trying to accomplish would throw nature of course and give her unintended consequences for what she was trying to do, her immortality spell failed like ayana predicted and lead to the creation of the originals, vampires, etc.
This lowkey implies that alot of powerful ancient witches in the bennet line not only knew the spell, but could be powerful enough to replicate it in their own right(for instance like alarics and marcels unique transitions), since we know that ayana was esthers mentor and besides dahlila, taught her everything she knew about magic. This is why eshter stay tied to the bennet line for so long, relying and drawing power from their line to maintain the spells and also make her self more powerful in the process until abby cut her off from that power.
@@CloroxBleach-qy7vy it didn’t fail…she did exactly what she intended to do, she wanted them to be stronger than the wolves that was the entire purpose of the spell, as Rebekah stated “where they had to bite we had to bite stronger” it was never about making them immortal is was just about making them superior to the werewolves. Her flaws was nature it turned against her as said before nature could never truly allow something immortal to exist.

This was an Incredible Masterpiece Video for My All Time Favorite Vampires and The Originals (2013 - 2018) Television Series is My All Time Favorite Television Series of All Time. I’m hoping you can make a video for The Tribrid since it was related to The Originals having the same abilities but stronger, faster and harder to kill.
The daylight rings always confuse me because when the originals were first introduced they said they didn’t need them that’s why the Sun and the moon curse was made up. But then afterwards they needed them I was just so confused.
They do and don't need them because as seen with Elijah in S2 and S5 they can freely walk around without them but they'll burn and cause a fire around them. SO ignorer to not get noticed by ordinary folks and so they can walk freely anywhere at anytime they kinda do need them.
Average vamps would burn and die immediately whereas with Originals they just burn and then after a while it stops and will repeat in a few mins.

They needed them when they first turned but im not quite sure why they dont have it in the tvd and in the originals.
I get that this is about the original vampires not witches but I really don’t like how Freya is almost never grouped with her siblings like acknowledge her truly she’s so freaking awesome and powerful
Esther created another original later - Alaric Saltzman in order to kill her children.
He was not just an another orignial, he was an original hunter, even the White Oak stick couldn't kill him, which can kill even Klaus himself, ans he over powered any orignal, and only Elena's death could stop him, couse their lifes were connected
Just a little information you missed the brotherhood did not create the silver daggers, they were created by an ancestor of Bonnie Bennet though her name is never given.

I know right! My biggest pet peeve is when Tyler was killed by the Travelers and when he came back he was NOT ONLY "removed" as a hybrid but somehow it "reset" his trigger and he would have to kill someone again to be a werewolf yet when Stefan was killed and Bonnie brought everyone back from the other side they all still came back vampires and when Jeremy came back (for like the third time) he was still a hunter even though Silas was dead. Like I get Tyler got killed because he was pushed back in Mystic Falls with the Traveler Spell in motion but it still doesn't make sense to me how everyone else came back still supernatural
@@roxannebrower947 you are right and not let us forget that when Alaric came back he was still an enhance original still. The only reason he lost his powers was because he went into Mystic Fall and the Travels spell was killing him until Jo save him from what killed hilled him in the first place
Because no one else died in mystic falls. Stefan died at Whitmore, Enzo died before the travelers spell took affect. It isn't that complicated

Haven't seen the series so I'm left with a few questions. Most importantly: The father hunted then with his oak stake for centuries, so was he made immortal by the same ritual? Also, was magic lost in time or are there still witches capable of performing the kind of magic the mother did once?
Wow you have to watch the show, yes the father was part of the same vampire ritual but hated what he had become
Having watched all three shows over again twice I can say with confidence that yes Mikael was made into a vampire by the same spell Esther used on her remaining children, and yes that kind of magic died off because long ago Mikaels family of Vikings raided Esther and her sister Dahlia's village where they were the only surviving people so only Dahlia Esther Freya and Hope are the only witches with knowledge of that type of magic.
@@roxannebrower947 um…. No they aren’t? The vampire spell is literally a twisted and water downed version of quetsiyahs immortality spell. That kind of magic flows through the Bennett blood line, which is why one could argue Bonnie is the strongest witch in all three shows.
@@theredmistiscoming609 I would never argue with someone if I was wrong however I'm not wrong I have watched these two series over and over again, and while Aya(Bonnie's ancestor) was a mentor to Esther, Esther's family themselves DID NOT practice EARTH MAGIC which is what Bonnie's family uses, Esther Dahlia Freya and Hope practice DARK MAGIC. And furthermore her Original Vampire Spell is simply a recreation/slightly changed version of The Immortality Spell, BECAUSE SHE USED DARK MAGIC, THIS IS SAID BY FREYA when Lucian high jacked their families blood and magic.
Yes the spell still exists. In S3 of The Originals the character Lucien Castle explains he had a coven reverse engineer the immortality spell. It required the blood of a Mikaelson witch (Freya in his case), a piece of white oak, and to be cast in Mystic Falls.
“Two powerful witches who cannot sense when you’re treading on hallowed ground. Welcome to Mystic Falls, the place where it all began. Where Esther Mikaelson created the vampire species. Under the shade of the infamous white oak tree she crafted the spell that turned each of her children.”
Lucien then added werewolf venom to the blood and became an upgraded original, with a bite that could kill even a Mikaelson.
Can you please talk about Klaus’s daughter Hope Andrea Michaelson because I think she’s very interesting as she is a tri-bread; part witch, part vampire and part werewolf! Becauses the Family called her the miracle child!

Children get their last name of their mothers husband if she marries. Or from their mothers father if the mother does not marry.

If you want to be technical about this issue, in the Viking era which Klaus and his siblings are from, they didn't have last names. They took the father first name as such so it would be Klaus "Mikael"son in hopes case it would Hope Klaussdottier ( that is spelled wrong) if going by history.

I started watching The Vampire Diaries and The Originals years ago and never finished. Which show should I watch first?
The Originals is a lot more enjoyable in my opinion especially towards the end.
finish TVD then start the originals...Originals is a slighter better show if you ask me
It's actually challenging, because season 1 of the originals starts at season 5 episode 15 of the vampire diaries, if you want to watch it chronologically start with the vampire diaries season 5 episode 15 and go back and forth between episodes of vampire diaries and the originals although vampire diaries ends before the originals. But it is easier just to watch the vampire diaries then the originals. Then legacies

@@gracefulannie-grcflannie- Agreed I found it easier to watch the shows one after another myself, although currently I made a side project and I'm writing down all flashback scenes because I've always wanted to watch the show that way where the flashbacks come first then the rest of the show, although that's gotten a bit more difficult because now legacies has just introduced "the gods", which are much older than any other supernatural creature on all 3 shows.

i also started the originals first and then finally watched vampire diaries. i thought tvd was cringey, especially when you start it mostly because the main characters are teens. it’s a very typical 2010s show lmao, the music will def show that. not a bad show though and you’ll enjoy it bc of the environment of the show, but i prefer originals tbh
If you watched The OG first then I wouldn’t recommend TVD it’s definitely just a lot of teen drama in comparison. But it does set up the originals and werewolves etc

Is Mikael not the worst father ever? I mean seemed to be a douche as a human from the beginning and then basically forced his wife to turn them into vampires, stabbed his own children not knowing if it would actually work and then spends 1000 years hunting down his children for being what he turned them into. Not to mention hating Klaus from day one for something he had no control over, his mother's affair.
So I know that when the originals turn someone that person is weaker than they are and this carries on down the sireline, am I right up to that point? Vampire...such an ugly word. The Originals has a tinge of truth to it having origins in Scandinavia. During the migration era and subsequent "Viking" age, people would sacrifice animals (and humans on rare occasions) to the gods. The meat from these animals would be cooked and consumed by the participants. But the blood...the blood was reserved solely for the gods. Even the Mead of Poetry (which is Óðinn's only sustenance) was created using the blood of the wisest man, Kvasir.
