- Vampires From The Vampire Diaries Explained. In today's video we are going to deep dive into the vampires from The Vampire Diaries. Vampires have existed for over 1000 years within the vampire diaries universe and have a really cool well thought out origin story. It’s probably my favourite origin story from all the vampire franchises out there because it’s just so different from the others. It stands out for its sheer creativity.

In the vampire diaries you have to be invited in someone's home but once your invited in that same person can't uninvited you out of their house.. Vampire diaries, Originals, Legacies is different and that's why I love it so much. Remember what Damon said in season 2 at a time Kathrine pretended to be Elena Gilbert that she would have to move because Katherine can get into her house now because she's invited in? I watch this series like five times already from season 1 to season 8. It’s my 6 time again.

No they aren’t.
They get killed and hurt by humans too easily.
Lacking a bit on the significance of Ketsia/Silas and their original spell that Esther modified per her husband's specifications to outmatch the werewolves.
The originals could compel because Silas was a psychic separate from being a witch/traveler.
Esther's spell used Silas as a totem by way of using one of Amara's doppelgangers so they inherited his need for blood that was a side effect of the original spell and his psychic power to compel.
Michael made Esther add the teeth and speed to combat the werewolves, so the spirits added the consequence of the werewolve's bite making them sick (lethal to the vampires they sired).
Uttering disinvite 3:30-40, didn't c any of that around, but that did happen in Ture Blood though. I think for Stefan to control himself with blood, he should take a little bit at a time just like what some do with vervain. Vampire also have telepathy of not reading minds, but showing memories like Elijah did with Hayley in telling her about his family's origins, and Damon with Rose before she died. They also have other powers in the pilot that we don't c from 1x02 to the end, cause it was thought too mystical if kept. They could fly as Damon (who from the shadows showed them all) took a victim straight upwards, control the weather as he commanded fog, and animals as he used a crow to spy on Elena. There is another weakness in rl legends that Jeremy asked to Anna about not crossing running waters (e.g. rivers or rain). Now as for the Mikaelson's, in starting of s3, we learn thet only knew about a few powers (strength, speed, regeneration, and immortality), they had no mentors. In other franchises, their vampires know the full scope of their powers instantly, but VD, they need a teacher.

My one issue with the origin story:
All the "weaknesses" were found by trial and error. Rebeka didn't know the sun would burn her, until it did. She didn't know vervain would burn her, until it did.
So I can only assume everything was found out thru trial and error. So how did they find out that the white oak stake would kill them? Was that the one weakness witches told them about? If so, too convenient, for my taste.
It’s possible that Mikael found out through coercing a witch at some point (them being able to identify that as a weakness even if they didn’t know the original spell isn’t exactly a big stretch given how robust magic is in TVD). I’d then imagine it wouldn’t take long for the rest of the Mikaelsons to figure out that he probably isn’t making stakes out of that very particular wood for a laugh.
Also, you say it’s ridiculous that this would be the one weakness they get told about, but it’s the only weakness that can actually kill them, and given how cryptic witches are in this universe, I could kinda buy that they would only mention this one, though tbf it would maybe be a little silly.

No because when Rebekah explained to Story she said, “and the spell decreed that the tree that gave us life could also take it away”. So the SPELL already had that in its clauses.

Stefan Salvatore was actually 162 years old when his best friend Lexy arrive for his birthday in season 1. So in season 8 I think he was 169 years old which is so Kool but Klaus is like a 1,000 and something years old so who is counting lol😂

I'm surprised that you haven't done a video on the OG Nosferatu (There's various versions of the actual video on youtube itself; try watching the one that has the audio synced up because the music does help set the mood tons since it's a silent video) considering that a remake has been announced with Lily Rose Depp. It'll be a video that will have longevity because there's tons to do a compare and contrast with the remake, compare to the second more popular Dracula, watch where everyone has taken inspiration from the video and capitalized on it's best parts.
Please could you make the vampire diaries based on the 6 books released by L. J. Smith not the Tv series coz they are several aspects that are vastly different.

Because I definitely remember since I was going through some stuff a bit ago & was watching/listening to your videos on repeat, but specifically TVD & all associations along with anything twilight & anything that was associated with interview with a vampire but I gravitated to the first 2 I just said, the MOST. I feel extremely confident that I'm not confusing this kind of video with another.

or a set number of gay ( guy ) vamps that would last as long
as the straight ones. regardless of the movie or show series
there never is or seems to be any gay guy vampires like for
instance Klauss wasnt gay nor Spike.
These vampires are so weak humans beat them all the time and their wolves are small like our wolves.
