This is a good video Joe. I like seeing budget friendly mods for our cars. That's a pretty decent intake for the price. And it's actually a cold air intake. Nice find Brother!!!
Good video. I have a 07 M35. Its pretty much the same thing. Im trying to budget build it right now. I ended up straight piping it and now its running lean. Im gonna end up putting an exhaust kit on it.
I had that intake 5+ years ago, I would suggest replacing the filter to a real branded silicone style, it rained a couple times and the metal around the filter literally rusted and split into two pieces after 6 months, the whole filter fell apart lol. I run G35 injen CAI on my Z now
I recommend getting an AFe power pro dry s filter, i have one on my custom cold air intake and I don’t worry about water in the rain. Puddles however, that might not end well, big puddles at least.
@@sirspeedsalot yes it's on the bottom of the under-shroud about an inch from the vent on the front of the bumper, and there are some vents on the under-shroud too.
I personally went w the Injen Long Tube because it is A/F ratio safe and I got a deal on it, wrapped it with DEI exhaust wrap. My boy made his custom intake with flex tubes and couplers, goes under the fender then gets air from the front grill looks pretty sick but with that long of an intake a tune would be best, dope vid man.
This intake is a/f safe, I just reset my ecu and make it relearn each time I get a new performance part! Injen is really tried and true and if I was looking for only quality, I would go with them in a heartbeat, I just wanted to show a more budget friendly version :)
I would throw a few zip ties on the fender liner not the best look but will Secure it and that bracket for the cold air intake I believe screws on and holds the intake in place by the lower coupler

same here where i’m from, it’s such a bummer seeing everybody hype up the cold air intakes and talk down on short rams, but i honestly think im going to buy the injen cold air intake becuase it is adjustable into a short ram, but it is also farther from the engine then most short ram intakes and it wont suck any rain at all
It really only takes 2 K&N panel filters to get a healthy controlled increase 306 horse to 310 without question y f with the exhaust unless it's super used id put super 10s on it but that's dumb
Hey Joe, can you do a video on the nds2 program you mention? Probably be a short one but it would be cool to see how to do it and what device you are using. Just got the intake in them mail today. I have it and a plenum spacer I’m installing at the same time. Relearn would be useful too.
This nds video will be a staple in every Infiniti/Nissan owner, the amount of information this program gives you is insane, along with the features it gives! Time to spread the awareness of this program, it’s a must specially for modified cars
So you still need it tuned after installing the intake? On the Z1 intakes it says on their website that it’s a direct bolt on and doesn’t require a tune which is why it’s probably pricier.
I didn’t really claim for it to add power necessarily, I was more so just curious on the product quality, fitment, and function but if when driving the cold air is the first thing to hit the filter, I’m sure it would add power!
@@JoeVazquez cold air intakes are probably the biggest waste of money. It’s snake oil. You have Brembo brake calipers, right? Get two-piece rotors to shed some weight, best upgrade for an NA, IMO.
