I have been wanting to get a die cutter for months! Thank you for making this video. I've been doing my research on the Cricut & Silhouette lately. I never knew Brother even had a die cutter!
Wow, you have sooo much information! Have you had a chance to test out the silhouette cameo 4 yet? Link to review? Which machine is best for making t-shirts?
Finally I now understand why love the brother cutting machines. Thanks for the demonstration. I'm really to buy my Favorite DX 1200 although I like DX SDX 125 but I can't afford it. Would you please select one of the Brother sewing machine and demonstration how to use alternative differently, foot accessories for quilting and embroidery on fabrics in a sewing machine. I want to buy a Brother innovis 750 from online, but I am uncertain since I need a sewing machine also. I am challenged by the lack of space. Love your presentation.
I have the cameo 4, it’s not what I should have bought at all because I love stamping! So I am trusting you and buying a scan and cut! How do I sign up for a newsletter?
Very useful! So torn as I have the snc2 and Love it. But considered the maker since I also have the old cricut expression with tons of cartridges. Just don’t want to pay a monthly fee😫
I love my original Silhouette and couldn’t ever find a reason to upgrade. I bought a Scan n Cut 2 last year when I got into stamping and still haven’t figured out how to cut anything besides line art, so I’d love to see more Brother tutorials!
There is also an extension you can get for Brother Scan and Cut that allows you to cut directly from Adobe Illustrator! You can still work when your internet goes down in that case, for sure.
You can upload your stamped image to cut on the cricut too. You can even colour them and do it as a print and cut which would be great for mass producing your Christmas cards. I just think you can’t mass produce to sell them.
I used to have a Cricut Expression, when they were first released. But I hated having to buy new cartridges all the time. Plus, I always enjoyed creating my own designs. I have a Silhouette Cameo 3 and love it. I think one of the main reasons I’ve stuck with them for so long is I’ve become quite proficient with their proprietary software, Silhouette Studio Designer edition. I think the thought of having to learn a new program for a new machine is just daunting. Plus, I already have all the accessories, blades, cutting mats, sketch markers, etc. However, the idea of being able to design things on my iPad has me very curious. How long did it take you to learn how to use the new Cricut Maker?
Hi, honestly it was so easy; i think much easier than the silhouette software; I found it very intuitive and was cutting in minutes; even after being a silhouette user for so long
This video is fantastic, thank you so much for creating and posting it! My wife requested either a Cricut or Silhouette. Being familiar with most technologies, I thought "Cool, a quick comparison will help!" Oy - it's a pain to find good comparison / commentary on which to choose! I was leaning towards the maker already, but you helped seal the deal! I - and soon my wife - thank you!
Thanks Alexandra, this was helpful! I’ve been umming and ahhing for ages! Most scrapbook people have a silhouette but so many people say it’s such a faff to get it to cut right. I am generally a tech savvy person and would probably be able to figure it out but do I want to spend that much money to then be super frustrated with a machine that takes far too much brainpower to work?? Does the cricut have the capacity to covert your own hand drawn designs or create your own designs in the software? Thanks! Emma x
Love your channel! I’m trying to make a decision which scan and cut to get? Since this video, what has changed about this machine, Good & bag experiences? I am experimenting with the mix art media journal and cutting lots of magazines. What machine would you recommend? I too had the Maker and returned it due to complexity. I continue to use my Cricut Explorer. I still have many dies too, electric big shot, Gemini. I just want to do it all. Please advised what cutting machine to get for cutting magazines. continue the good work! Thanks
I really want to know what it is about the silouhette that didn't work for you. Even if it's biased. Also I'd love to see how the software compares between the three. I get why the cricut studio appeals, but I find an ethical problem with not being able to use software for free. Or do I have that wrong?
It's the iPhone that had the exploding batteries, not Android so the comparison Apple/Android to Cricut/Silhouette actually works backwards, lol. But I get what you're trying to say. Thanks.
Thank you thank you, Alexandra! I have used Cricut machines for 11 1/2 years now, I got a Maker for Mother’s Day from my hubby and my amazing son in 2018. You can’t print and cut with the Maker as well using snap mat and uploading now. But I have been thinking as I get into stamping more often I might just have to pick up a Scan and cut too! My feelings aren’t quite concrete about the S & C as I truly believe that Cricut will come out with a new feature with the software that will make it easier to cut stamped images etc. I Love my Maker, but the supplies ie blades and mats can get pricey unless you consistently purchase on sale! They are having more and more sales which my purse really appreciates! Thank you for this video comparison, Alexandra! I know ai can always trust you to state the truth as yo u see it and I love that about you! ~ Katz baugh
The title suggesting all 3 cutters are being compared is misleading given that Cameo was instantly dismissed with little explanation given as to why it was dropped.
As I explained in the video the cameo 3 for me was very disappointing the software is always released too early and full of bugs; the bluetooth connectivity doesnt work well; for that reason I am never happy recommending my viewers to what I consider a sub standard product, considering how much I enjoyed my cameo 2; the 3 was a big let down; the Maker and Scan n Cut in my opinion are the market leaders
