I am new just figured out how to write comments.i am really enjoying watching and learning different things about cardmaking. Thanks for taking time to show us and i am a beginner.
You are so very clever and inspired me to do a variation. I have a Silhouette machine and the cutting mats get so cut up they don't hold the paper during the cut. But I CANNOT throw things away so I had 2 old ones still. I trimmed them down to fit in the mini misti and Tim Holts large platforms. I used glue dots on the corners to hold them in place. Oh man it works fantastic. Thank you sooooo much for the idea!
I love your tip . I ordered the new black and white this week. I’m sure to use theses tips. I also own the Tim Holtz platform but most crafters are using the Misti . Thank you for sharing.happy weekend to another expat from UK. Been here 35 yrs now. Cheers mate.💖
Well, seeing your video on the five tips certainly has made me interested in the MISTI as I have never seen it before. I'm so excited about finding a good price for this item and thanks to you, my stamping is going to be so much easier than before! Thank you!!!!!
this is a great advice video - had my misti since it came on the market - and bought the extra assessories BUT did not know how to get the best use out of them - just muddled along - this is fab - now ordered the mousemat and my sticky grids have arrived today .THANK YOU x
I love the tip about the Sticky Grid. I just ordered them. I think they will be extremely helpful. I love the MISTI. I think it is the best out there. I have tried others. I worked for a law firm for many years that enforced patents and I can say from experience that it is VERY expensive to get a patent and KEEP infringers from copying your inventions. The US Patent Office makes it very difficult to obtain patents because they take all the features into consideration very carefully before granting a patent. If another person comes along and invents something that is not different enough from the original invention, the US Patent Office will reject it. There must be substantial differences or improvements in order for another patent to be granted on a similar invention. These laws are meant to protect original inventors.
I have the Tim Holtz platform...wouldn't recommend at first....needs some work but for the value for money it would be my preference over the misti...to purchase the misti and all the corners and grids and pads in Australia is a huge investment. HUGE. I understand patent and stuff but seriously that is taking a every day crafter for a ride...it is not justifiable as are many name brand products. i enjoy learning and trying but most of us are not in this to make money in the way big companies are...I will always do my research, compare value for money based on where i live but i do enjoy this channel for the honesty you show.
Thanks for the tips! I've wanted a Misti for a year and am able to buy one now, you've enabled me to know exactly what I want o purchase. Happy Holidays!
Thank you for saying whether the misti corners worked on the other platforms. I have been wondering that for a long time. Congratulations on being the office media for creativation. I look forward to seeing all your videos.
I have heard about these sticky sheets and finally found some online. I can't wait to try them. I HATE using the magnets. I have a difficult time getting all of the stamp to stamp correctly. This will be a game changer! I also like the other ideas that you mentioned. I think I will laminate my MISTI grid. Thanks for sharing...
One health point is that by using a sticky mat, rather than the super powerful magnets - it's much safer for heart pacemaker crafters. I'm not in that category - but have a USA friend who used to use painters tape or such to hold her card stock in place on her Misti as magnets were a no-go. Super tips! x
OMG! What a FANTASTIC n’ HELPFUL video! Great info for us “oldies” but wonderful for “newbie” stampers/crafters, too! Such a good job on explaining the “helpfulness” of the items in a clear n’ concise manner! So appreciate your time n’ sharing of your ideas! TFS n’ HAPPY STAMPIN’ n’ CREATIN’! :-))
I agree. The MISTI is also my favorite. I have an original, a stamparatus and travel TH platform. I still reach for my Misti most often. Love the tools. I use the L shape most. Was really surprised you didn't mention the Misti bag. It is so we'll designed. I keep it at my feet, with the Misti tucked in the center section. If I want to travel, my bag is ready to go with all my basic tools.
Hi, I am just so glad I had my TH platform when I did, because no way on this earth, could I afford a Misti, and from what I can tell, they are both different designs, just the concept is the same, and let's face, there are MANY products of all kinds (not just crafting tools!) that are based on previous versions of itself! I am gutted for TH if it is correct that he is no longer permitted to manufacture anymore, it seems unfair to me! I am disabled and have problems with using stamps, and had given up stamping because of it, the TH platform has made a MASSIVE difference for me, and as I live on a pension, and craft for my own enjoyment, making things for family and friends only, the Mitisi is just way out of my reach! I love to colour too, and want to use my own stamps sometimes rather than rely solely on digis.
Great tips and I'd like to add my own. I don't have the corners or the sticky mat, but I think either one would work beautifully if you wanted to do a background stamp. No magnets on the paper to get in the way.
I just got a few packages I had ordered several weeks ago of the Sissix Sticky Grid. Meanwhile, I had engineered one of my own versions of a sticky. Going to go try it out. Thanks so much for sharing Alexandra!!! Hugs!!!
Great tips and introduction to some new product that makes stamping more successful! I shared this video on my FB group page, Roberta's Artistic Adventures! I own the MISTI original, a Stamparatus, and a travel size Tim Holtz stamp platform. Love all of them!
I LOVE my MISTI....I have a Stamperatus and a Tim Holtz, but the MISTI is still my "go to" favorite. Loved your informative video. I have just discovered your videos today and I've been marathon watching all the ones that peak my interest. I live in Canada and the small town I live in is losing the only Stampin' Up demonstrator that we had due to her husband's new job and move. I am wondering if you mail to Canada? I'm also a TONIC gal. Cheers from Alberta, Canada....have a great day!
I have the Misti. It is brilliant. However, considering the cost....it should come with a grid already laminated. Permantly etched like the Tim Holtz platform would have been even better. The corners and other extra bits are even smarter, however.... The COST of that thing is off the charts ridiculous! All of those extras should be part of the original product to justify the cost. In my opinion, there have been others that work as well with better features at a lower cost that were removed from the market. I'm all for protecting the original invention but if someone else figures out how to improve it, it should be open to do so. What if we still only had one telephone company? One car manufacturer? In other words, the original should be protected, but should we never have the opportunity for diversity? I was fortunate enough to pick up the large Tim Holtz platform. I !oved it so much, I bought the mini as well! I much prefer that over the Misti. Your tips are wonderful and the sizzix grid IS AWESOME for soooo many things!🙋👍💕
Hi Dianna. I don't have the Misti, and after hearing about all the trouble, and patents and making the TH platform go off the market I'm glad I don't have the Misti. I do have both the TH platforms, and after seeing the videos and reviews on the stamperatus, I am considering trying that one as well. I will never buy a Misti though. I was considering buying the Misti corner tool set to see if it would work with my TH platforms, however every time I go to amazon that corner tool set seems to jump at least 1-5.00 a week, and after all this patent crap, I doubt I will ever buy anything from the Misti company.
I love mine! I have both sizes. I think it's unfortunate that the lawsuit happened. As a consumer I like to have the choice..... I have the MISTI too but actually prefer the Tim Holtz one. The price point and quality is better in my opinion.
I wouldn't touch that with someone else's ten-foot pole! I knew the minute I saw it I knew he stole the idea from My Sweet Petunia then the lawsuits started I lost a lot of respect for him around that
Thanks for an excellent toot. I thought I knew it all so didn't view until today. To quote Chris Stapleton, "I was wrong." I have the medium sized Misti and will definitely get these accessories after seeing this. To the person asking about cleaning ink off of the MISTI, none of the acrylic plastic cleaners worked on Stazon ink stains. I was a new stamper, and kept inking the wrong side, my fingers, the dog -- nothing was safe from me. Finally tried the Hero Arts stamp cleaner and it magically wiped clean. I also didn't realize that Stazon inks are specialized solvent inks, and I really didn't need them. Noob mistake.
I don’t know where to buy the Misty mouse pad or the corners with extra thin magnets. I’ve checked Google and Amazon and did not find them. You had a really wonderful presentation. I learned so much. Thank you
Love your tips very useful. Thank you. Can you tell me if you can use the corner magnets on another stamp machine other than the Misti because I have a different one that I use? Again thank you.
Would the MISTI Creative Corners be useful with a WRMK Precision Press Advanced stamping platform? The WRMK platform's design is different - the acrylic plate is pressed down, where it's a hinged door on the MISTI, and the platform is open on two sides instead of fully enclosed. I keep thinking there must be ways to use the Precision Press Advanced more effectively, which the Creative Corners offer for MISTI users.
The sticky sheet that you show is also done by "Little B perfect positioner " I dont know if they are still available I bought a heap of them for holding my dies in place because I only have full use of one hand its hard to line dies up they are brilliant they last for a very long time too.
I have Tim Holtz Original and Mini Platforms...Never Used...Brand New Still in box! I use MISTI more...got Original, Mini and 12 x 12 size. Considering selling TH Platforms...
I love your tips videos! Thanks! I've been wondering if I could use MISTI corners in my Tim Holtz stamp platform, and you answered my question! Thanks so much! Also, those sticky grids look amazing! Must try them! 🤗☀️🌈
Did you see that Concord & 9th is publishing the new turnabout kits and guides? Thanks for the tips. I have the large and small Tim Holtz platforms, but these ideas will help for most of the brands.
What's also great is the new turnabouts (like Marble, which I HAD to have) come with a guide to line up with the jig, so you don't have to draw the X on the back. If you have older turnabouts, you can buy a pack of the guides for ALL the older turnabouts for only $4! I'm finally going to get around to using my Blossoms and my Dahlia turnabouts!
I wish they would have made the Misti long enough to stamp the inside of the card while it’s open! I mostly make a side fold A2. This is why I prefer my Tim Holtz one. The end of the card can hang out the open edge.I know you can fold the card back on itself, but I hate to do that, and ruin my nice crease. The memory one would be long enough, but it’s quite spendy, and I’m not into scrap books. What is your method of stamping the inside sentiment?
I followed the link to the sticky grids by Sizzix and could not find in the description if it is a pad of them or just one, and how many if it is a pad? Thank you.
the salt cellar is ideal for holding your stamp shammy or tidy towel, it will stay moist, but there's enough airflow to keep it from getting stinky HTHs
You don't need the foam mat in the THP. You simply remove the lid and flip it. The sticky grid is more of a personal preference. I don't have either. I do have a piece of grid paper in the bottom of my TH, that I've laminated. It just helps me to make sure everything is laid out correctly. I wouldn't trade my TH for anything!
Stacy Amazed by life: Actually Stacy, I ended up creating a fun foam mat for my TH platform because of the repeated unstamped areas I got when I used my background stamps( I call them ‘dead zones’). It was so frustrating that I got a medium MISTI and no longer have dead zones with my background stamps. I was not impressed with the cheaper TH’s MISTI version. Yep I now have two stamping platforms, but hopefully with Alex’s tips I can start to use my TH again. 😘👍🏾✨
A problem with the magnets and corner accessories is that sometimes the thinner stamps do not make contact with the paper because of the thickness of the magnet. This is mostly a problem when the stamp is positioned close to the corners or magnets. The sticky mat looks like a perfect solution!
Has there been a protective bag marketed for the Misti? I would love to have something to be able to carry it to crops and keep all of my magnets and ruler secure. Thank you!
Hi Daisy, there is a MISTI bag for all your supplies but lots of people sell MISTI bags on ETSY there are some really pretty ones and they come sin all sizes and are well padded check out the Card Grottos room tour i saw she had them in hers this year and i think she mentioned the shop she got them from
Hi Brenda, the links are in the description for you; I have a desktop essentials video which has more detail I tried to add a link but youtube keeps deleting it from this comment....sorry!
@@clticspin it's NOT ridiculous, because it was her design, R&D that made it popular and for him to come along after she spent all that time and money and try to sell it as his IS ridiculous
I tried the sticky mat in my stamp positioners and loved it - until it got covered in pet hair, dirt and dust and now doesn’t stick anymore :( Tried to wipe it off and got a bit of the sticky back. Any suggestions?
Just a response to the negative comments about the MISTI inventor... when I saw all of the knockoff products coming to the market, I hoped the inventor was getting royalties. The idea was genius and a tremendous asset to the stamping community. The cost had to reflect the money spent to develop and patent the idea which is costly. I tried a cheaper version and that’s exactly what it was.... cheap. I love the enhancements that TH and SU made to the product, but the inventor is entitled to royalties and that doesn’t make her a bad person. I love and use the original MISTI and the Stamparatus. TH can’t produce any more, but can sell the ones already made.... when they are gone, that’s it (the way I understand it.)
The whole problem with MISTI patenting the product is, it should have never been issued a patent. In fact, they tried for years, and it was only due to a new person in the patent office who allowed the patent to go through. A stamping tool has been around since the 1600s in one form or another. It's hard to believe that TH/Tonic didn't fight this harder. EU wouldn't issue the same patent over there because it is ubiquitous and not unique. We R Memory Keepers came out with theirs first (bought it on Scrapbook dot com), which is the exact same as the MISTI and less than 1/2 the price. Since it is the same product, I just use that.
@@agatha2989 wrmk was not first to the market. They arrived after my sweet petunia had the Misti. Several years before Misti, there was another stamping tool, but it didn't stay on the market, did not seek patent protection. When you change the way people do something (ex wood to acrylic, blocks to positioners) it is an uphill road. You must get habits formed over years to change. Convince new and existing stampers this tool is beneficial. Misti did that like no other company.
And also, I don’t begrudge them royalties. I don’t think they should have been granted a patent. Tim Holtz would have won in court. Their products are too different. But whatever, she has the patent, she gets royalties. My comment was that she is a horrible person. She has belittled and demeaned people on boards like you can’t even believe. She has threatened home crafters with law suits for showing others how to make letter presses (which is what the Misti is based off and existed centuries before she was born). She can make money. She can be successful. She doesn’t have to be a horrible person while she does it. I do not support people who belittle and degrade others. Never have. Never will.
Also, from the beginning to the end of the patent process is based on the class of item. Extremely simple, relatively simple, etc, etc. The MISTI’s patent is listed as relatively simple. The non-attorney filing fee, drawing fee, and other related patent fees total $1250. It’s not actually costly. If your product has moving parts, generally you want a patent lawyer to look over it. That level of patent tends to start with minimally complex filings. The MISTI is not classed as minimally complex. So, I’m just saying, if we’re making a, she paid tens of thousands of dollars for this, no she didn’t. Also, as someone pointed out, hers wasn’t the first stamp positioner on the market, and the patent office denied her multiple times because letter presses have been considered public goods for centuries. That’s why she doesn’t have protection for her product in Europe or Australia. However, none of this was my point. My point was personal. It’s not even just that she’s trashed other crafters. Customers who have reported cracked MISTIs or MISTIs whose measuring bars were glued down incorrectly, and so don’t measure correctly, who then asked for refunds or exchanges have sent her into apoplectic rage. Is the MISTI her product? Yes. Can she charge what she wants for it? Yes she can. Does any of that mean she should be able to belittle fellow crafters or customers? Nope. As I said in another post, if you like her, support her. If you like her product, buy it. I do not like her. I refuse to spend money on anything she touches. It’s a personal opinion. I certainly am not suggesting anyone follow my suit.
Do we know why the Tim Holtz platform is not being sold any longer? I have the travel platform and have been struggling with which larger platform to get. I want to use the Gina K sets and you need a larger platform for that. Should I get the tonic one while and if I can?
I would get it. I love mine. I will be honest and tell you I prefer using rubber stamps in it than clear. Foam in it is supposed to help the clear. I have no idea what scrapbook.com's shipping is, but that is a good price for the platform. I have a Stamp Perfect, no longer available, for clear stamps, and a TH platform for rubber stamps. I use both A LOT. For me, they are great investments. Between the 2, I paid $35. I have a friend who has both. She also wants the stamparatus. I am good with my 2.
You can still buy the tim holtz stamp platform. It is good for both clear and cling stamps, as well as red rubber stamps. I had no idea what you were talking about when you said it wasn't being sold any more so I had to check it out for myself. Amazon sells it from different sellers at different prices, and check out Michaels as well. Some of the big box stores I've noticed have stopped selling certain brands, like my Joann's super store doesn't sell anything Sizzix anymore, no idea why. I have both the travel platform and the tholtz regular platform. There are several good deals on Amazon to check out.
I just looked it up. The MISTI chick sued Tonic. They settled the lawsuit and Tim agreed to pull his platform from sale in North America. It will still be available in all the rest of the world. Apparently you can still buy them on Scrapbook.com, Amazon, places like that, but when the supply is gone, it’s gone. Which sucks. The MISTI founder is a TERRIBLE person. I will never, EVER, spend a dime on her products.
Kaye, get the Tim Holtz platform. It was pulled off the shelves exactly because of/as Kerri explained. I have both TH sizes as well as the original Misti and I find that I use my TH one the most. What happened was really too bad and had I not already owned the Misti, I purposely would have refused to buy one because of it. Sheesh!!!
I recently purchased the Stamparatus and love it. I previously had the MISTI and purchased the corners. Gave my MISTI to my daughter, but kept the corners for myself. Yes, the corners can be used in the Stamparatus. I find that because the Stamparatus has two open sides I use the magnet with it and it all works perfectly. No regrets on making the change.
I think someone needs to have a coffee or a drink relax and craft. We r all untitled to our opinions! My husband didn’t invent Velcro, but gosh that would have been cool!! Lol
Like both my MISTI and Tonic platforms, but will not be able to purchase a stamp platform in the future if MISTI is the only manufacturer. It’s too cost prohibitive, the quality has fallen, and the customer service is no good. 🤷🏻♀️
I bought the corners from Buddlycraft in the UK to use with my Tim Holtz platforms. The Misti and the sticky grid are also available in the UK. Just google.
Well that is sad news. I can’t even see that they are remotely the same. I see other ones on the market that are twins of the MISTI. But the platform is nothing like it. I am physically disabled and I cannot use a MISTI. Or afford one. But the Tim has easy access for me to lift the door and extremely easy for me to manoeuvre. It’s so sad that competition isn’t a healthy aspect rather than bad. There is room for more than one. Greed
Not greed, right or wrong . Illegal . It is taking money from some one else's idea. If your husband invented velcro , would you like someone else to copy it and take food money off your table? There will be others that come out different enough , and cheaper . I have a thing travel and small misti and reach for misti 5 times more. Can't afford a larger one, but am glad I have one.

Hi, I just got a misti.. the stamps don't pick up unless I use the foam piece do I have to buy special stamps?
I love your tips videos! Thanks! I've been wondering if I could use MISTI corners in my Tim Holtz stamp platform, and you answered my question! Thanks so much! Also, those sticky grids look amazing! Must try them! 🤗☀️🌈
Did you see that Concord & 9th is publishing the new turnabout kits and guides? Thanks for the tips. I have the large and small Tim Holtz platforms, but these ideas will help for most of the brands.
I did that this morning; cant wait to get one!
Great video!
Thankfully I purchased my Tim holtz platform before you couldn’t get it anymore!
Great tips TFS
I just found you video on the Salt Celler...thank you
I wish they would have made the Misti long enough to stamp the inside of the card while it’s open!
Great tips 😀👍
Any great tips on cleaning ink off of the cover of the Misti?
I actually use the Stamp Cleaner recommended... or a Magic Eraser for stubborn stains...it’s amazing!
We filmed on today in respnse, should be uploaded this week :-)
You said you tried the Stamparatus. I have one and would like if you could do a video on that as well. You review, thoughts and tips. Thanks!
Create MISTI tips, and TFS!😘👍🏾✨
People out there, ‘patent infringement’ is intellectual thief and criminal!!
I followed the link to the sticky grids by Sizzix and could not find in the description if it is a pad of them or just one, and how many if it is a pad? Thank you.
They are a 5pk
Another great video and lots of fun tips thank you, Can you tell me how you are using the Salt Celler…..thank you
the salt cellar is ideal for holding your stamp shammy or tidy towel, it will stay moist, but there's enough airflow to keep it from getting stinky HTHs
Have a ? About the mouse pad with the laminate on top, does it make your paper slide around? Or as long as you use a magnet it’s ok ?
As long as you have a magnet its great or the sticky grid
Looking for a tidy towel holder like yours but can’t find one.
Do you need the mat along with the sticky grid for the Tim holtz platform. Glad I got one before they stopped selling them in the USA.
No you don't you can use craft foam I have a video on the channel on ow to use it if you want to but agian its all personal preference
Hedgehog Hollow hanks for the reply!
Stacy Amazed by life thank you Stacy,.
Omg I have never seen those sticky grids! Thanks for sharing👍
Great tips
A problem with the magnets and corner accessories is that sometimes the thinner stamps do not make contact with the paper because of the thickness of the magnet. This is mostly a problem when the stamp is positioned close to the corners or magnets. The sticky mat looks like a perfect solution!
Has there been a protective bag marketed for the Misti? I would love to have something to be able to carry it to crops and keep all of my magnets and ruler secure. Thank you!
Hi Daisy, there is a MISTI bag for all your supplies but lots of people sell MISTI bags on ETSY there are some really pretty ones and they come sin all sizes and are well padded check out the Card Grottos room tour i saw she had them in hers this year and i think she mentioned the shop she got them from
Also check out bags designed for android tablets at Walmart or Target.... Take your MISTI with you to see if it fits.
Thanks for sharing
I have peeled my red rubber stamps off of their wooden blocks. Does anyone know it's better to use those on a MISTI or TH version? Thanks!!!
Either will work fine, I have seem most people use some elmers glue stick or you could use some stick sheet to stick them to the lid
Tell me about the tidy towel and the container, please.
Hi Brenda, the links are in the description for you; I have a desktop essentials video which has more detail I tried to add a link but youtube keeps deleting it from this comment....sorry!
I so need those sticky grids...I haven’t seen them in the uk..xx
you can get them try sir stampalot, sizzix or crafts u love or maybe you might have a neice that could mail one ;-)
Hedgehog Hollow I only have one niece and I always love getting packages so great combination 🤪xx
ah the tape was smart tip. Thank you do you have a Tim Holst platform video as well?
I do both one on here and another set of tips on the scrapbook. com channel
Can you use the corners on the Tim Holtz platform?
Sharon Tucker Lewis, yes. They work in both the travel platform and the full sized platform.
Oh my gosh! Why may I ask are the Tim Holtz platforms not being sold any longer? I love mine!
Sea Shells Lawsuit by the Misti owner. Which is ridiculous because her product is so ridiculously expensive.
Patent infringement is serious. You cannot copycat a patent protected item.
Any suggestions?
keep the dog out of the room?
I’m confused. Did you say you can no longer get the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform in the States?
Thats correct you might find some stores who still have stock but once they are sold out they wont be restocked in the USA only in Europe
Thank you
Just a response to the negative comments about the MISTI inventor... when I saw all of the knockoff products coming to the market, I hoped the inventor was getting royalties.
Patent infringement is serious. You cannot copycat a patent protected item.
Can the misti corners be used in the stampin up stamparatus?
yes. ABSOLUTELY. anything with a magnet can be used on any of the mentioned platforms
Which plate did you sticky grid on the Gemini?
i put it on the frosted plastic one
Thanks so much! Love these tios.
What are you keeping your cloth in please
Hi Elaine this is my holder amzn.to/2SCrNXt
I bought a coconut a while ago and LOVE it can't do without it.
Sheesh!!!
Jesse b Scrapbook.com’s shipping is pretty reasonable compared to most.
Do the Misti corners work in the Stamparatus?
I recently purchased the Stamparatus and love it. I previously had the MISTI and purchased the corners. Gave my MISTI to my daughter, but kept the corners for myself. Yes, the corners can be used in the Stamparatus. I find that because the Stamparatus has two open sides I use the magnet with it and it all works perfectly. No regrets on making the change.
Thank you
Where’s the inventor of the HINGE, maybe more lawsuits are to come because of patent infringement?
I think someone needs to have a coffee or a drink relax and craft. We r all untitled to our opinions! My husband didn’t invent Velcro, but gosh that would have been cool!! Lol
indeed!
Like both my MISTI and Tonic platforms, but will not be able to purchase a stamp platform in the future if MISTI is the only manufacturer. It’s too cost prohibitive, the quality has fallen, and the customer service is no good. 🤷🏻♀️
Great tips, but your website is terrible. I want to buy some items and I can't access the shopping
None of these products are available to UK craft makers
I have the misti and the corners, you can buy them online from several UK companies.
I bought the corners from Buddlycraft in the UK to use with my Tim Holtz platforms. The Misti and the sticky grid are also available in the UK. Just google.
you have many supplies we can't get easily, so it all works out I guess
Misti corner stick OUT so the door leaves a gap therefor the stamp is not good 🤦
I'm not sure what you mean but i dont have any stamping issues when i use my misti corners

Can't afford a larger one, but am glad I have one.
outright theivery is NOT a healthy competitionit's theft plain and simple
Thanks for the great tips!
