Hi! A few things: --- There are LOTS of great suggestions here in the comments on how to care and clean stick mat. thanks, everyone! --- I use the MISTI because it was the first one out and the first I tried... it was simply a magical game changer for me. So I have stuck with it! :) I know it is an investment. And not for everyone. But I promise to only share here the products I find tried and true. I hope you can find a tool that works for you and I hope my video is helpful. :)
I appreciate your view and the disclaimer. I use the Tim Holtz, because I found it to be the better fit for me all the way around. Unfortunately, this is what keeps me subbing and unsubbing to your channel. Right now, I'm subbed, because I do like many of your makes and techniques, but I know I'm only a drop in your sea, so my sub doesn't matter.
Jennifer been using electronic cutting machines for about 12 years now. I have found with the Scan N Cut mat is to use a wet wipe, People's Choice from WalMart or Costcos work well, wipe it down with that, going in one direction only as if you go in circles you are just spreading it around, (i.e. that's a Tim Holtz hack for cleaning) If and when it gets really dirty and nothing wants to stink take it to the kitchen sink and was with a nice brush and warm soapy (Dawn) water, then hang to dry. IF all else fails, then you will want to remove that old sticky and resticky with Alenes Tack It diluted 1/2 and 1/2 or with the zig wide 2 way glue, however, i find that the tack it works the best. Do not use alcohol on it.
I learned the trick from you several years ago for cutting out the dies from the stamped Image. It really bothered me when I couldn’t get the white around the image even. Now I cut the die make a negative, place it around the stamped image and place the die back in. Thank you so much for this tip. 😊
Jennifer you are such an awesome teacher... thank you so much for all of the time and effort you put in these videos for us. The quality is always outstanding and the little details you put in don't go unnoticed! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Thanks for sharing all these great hacks for using the Misti! I love how you use the electronic die cut machine mat for a repositionable sticky mat to hold paper. I am a Cricut owner and we use baby wipes to clean our mats after cutting. It helps to get the paper fibers off the mat. Let it air dry after and store with the clear acetate cover to protect the sticky. You can restick these mats but you need to completely remove the adhesive and clean the mat down to the bare plastic. Once this is done and it has dried, you can use a repositionable spray adhesive or even the old Zig Two Way Glue Pen (Jumbo chisel tip) to restick. Just let it dry completely and cover it with the clear cover sheet to keep the dust off to store.
Thanks for all of the great hacks. Another thing I use my MISTI for is to get my card front adhered evenly on my card base. I just put the card base into a corner and lay my panel on top using the edges to line up perfectly. When I don't use it...somehow I manage to be off every single time. sigh ;)
Thank you so very much for all this info! I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL YOU DO HELP US. The new MISTI looks like they’ve made a lot of improvements. I REALLY like all your die hacks.
That's such a useful tip! Thanks so much for sharing. I think you just pushed me from a "maybe" to a "yes" on getting the MISTI - though it's still going to take a while to save up for one. Maybe by then Hero Arts will have the new version of the MISTI (Jennifer's side-by-side comparison convinced me that the new version is the better choice), as I'm sure I'd find it much easier to see the markings in black than in pink.
This video was sooo cool! The original MISTI changed my stamping life! It made me become a confident stamper, who started incorporating stamped images on my cards, on a regular basis. Of course, I will be adding the 2.0 version to my collection. Thanks for the extra hacks for using my MISTIS. To restick your cutting mats, remove the old adhesive with soap and water and a scraping tool then use an extra wide Zig two way glue pen to cover the whole surface with a thin coat of glue. Let it dry until it is clear (at least an hour) and you are good to go! If it is too sticky at first, pat it all over with piece of material.
I loved the use of the sticky mat. I have plenty of old mats that are too floppy for cutting with. The papered chef has everything you'll ever need to know on looking after your mats on RUclips.
Finally ordered new and improved MISTI… excellent comparison as well as very helpful tips and tricks to get even more use from it. Thanks for sharing your creativity and experience that adds joy to our crafting passion. Have a great day! 🙂
I’m new to card making and you videos have been incredible to watch, your such an amazing teacher. I’m currently going back and watching all your content to learn more about card making, thank you 🙏
The sticky mat idea...brilliant! I have hastily scrolled through the comments and didn’t see the one I have found most helpful for restoring the stick to my mats. After no amount of cleaning can bring back the stick, I create a clean slate with goo gone, scrap off all residual “gunk” , scrub it with dawn and get it totally squeaky clean. Then using a foam brush, I apply Aleene’s Stick It Over And Over that I’ve thinned with water. You can control how sticky it is depending on how much you thin it. I have tried the Zig and repositionable spray adhesive but found this one to be most effective. I appreciate you!
Hi Jennifer my name is Stephanie I live in London England. Just to let you know that you are an amazing crafter and I get a lot of inspiration from you. I have a ScanNCut and it’s a great machine. To clean my mat I use Mat Magic Cleaner and to re-stick the Mat I use Sticky Mat Adhesive. They can be purchased from eBay or Amazon and do a good job. Hope this helps. I have a stamping tool and will try the sticky mat in it. Thanks for being an amazing inspirational woman. Best Wishes Stephanie James
I love my MISTI! I use the Tim Holtz Sticky Grid like you use the cutting mat for the electronic machines. I have a Cricut Explore. If you try the Cricut mats, I suggest trying the blue mat. The green and purple mats would be entirely too sticky. Also, to clean the mats you can use non alcohol baby wipes to clean them if they are not really dirty. Just don’t scrub too hard as that will remove the adhesive. It will not be sticky when it’s wet. But once it dries it’s sticky again. If they are real dirty then you can run them under water and use a sponge and dawn dish soap to clean them. Pat off the excess water then sit aside to dry and they will be good as new. I love the new design for the MISTI. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day.
if you get "too sticky" of a mat, use a little bit of baby powder to de-stick it (which is similar or the same powder in the embossing projects to deflect embossing powder)
I also wanted to say thank you Jennifer for taking the time to make these videos and share them with us. It honestly makes me beyond irritated that some people are so nasty with their comments. For the life of me I don’t understand why they even bother to comment. ( I won’t even dislike a RUclips video!) You take so much time and effort to share your ideas and talent with us. Then you get that one nasty remark. (Some people are just so unhappy and miserable in their lives they try to inflict it onto other people. ) Please please please don’t let this ever stop you from doing what you do. I honestly don’t think our craft world would survive without you! You are AMAZING! so thank you for all your blood, sweat and tears that you put into your videos❤️❤️💞💞
Thank you for this - it's a very thorough comparison! I hope that eventually Hero Arts will be able to come out with the new MISTI features in their beautiful black colorway. 🖤
As always I adore your teaching and I’m so thankful that you are driven to teach us like you do. I know it’s such an investment of your precious time. Much respect!
I created my own stamping tool in a 12 x 12 size and It cracks me up that it looks almost identical to the Hero Arts version. I ordered special black vinyl measuring tapes online to make my “rulers” along the edge. I laminated 12x12 graph paper for inside to keep it clean and the whole thing cost me 1/4 of the cost of a Memory Misti. Love doing DIYS!
I use a gently used Cricut mat, cut to fit. It's especially helpful in the Tim Holtz platform because it has a grid for easy placement, and it holds my cardstock in place. When it begins to lose its "stick," I just wash it with mild soap and warm water.
When the original Misti came out I held off. I wasn’t sure I could justify the cost, then I needed to get different blocks (I had thin ones and couldn’t hold them without my finger cramping and dropping them). When I started to price the various blocks I would need ( and misplace since they are clear and relatively small) I realized the Misti wasn’t much different. I tried stamping tools but I couldn’t get them to work well. I took the plunge and bought it. Once I tried it, wow! I found I was enjoying stamping and creating so much more. I didn’t have wasted cardstock from my personal less than perfect stamping. I could always find my Misti for stamping. Your hints are awesome and really helped me out. Honestly I’d been thinking of giving up card making but no longer. I enjoy creating, I can’t draw so stamping enables me to be able to create. It’s good for my soul. The updates to the Misti look fabulous, little things that add up to be a great improvement. There is nothing wrong with my existing one so I don’t “need” a new one. But I should enable one of my friends to get started and pass on my Misti. Then I can buy a new one! Worked well when I wanted to get a different paper trimmer, LOL
One way to keep the mat sticky is to use dawn dishsoap to wash it. They will get fuzzies and the dawn dishsoap will rinse away all of that without getting rid of your sticky. Just put a few drops of soap on your mat and run it under the water so you can suds it up. You'll see all of the paper and fuzz roll right off. Rinse it under cool water and just air dry it after that. It will be very sticky after that. It will be slimy while you are washing it. Don't worry, after you rinse it, it will become sticky again. Good luck!!
Darn you Jennifer! You are such an inspiration....I was going to clean the house today but after watching another of your fun videos I am off to my craft room....See you tomorrow Dust.
I love the new Misti, but I waited and waited for them to fix these issues for over a year, but finally gave in and bought the mini and the regular ones so won’t be able to buy the new one for a long while. At least I have something for my wish list. 🥰 I have my sticky mat (old cricut mat) and when the stick isn’t enough, I clean it totally off and then use the zig glue pens. Let dry throughly and the mat has the perfect amount of stick for me. Thanks Jennifer!
Love the video, you always do a wonderful job. I’ve seen Betsy Veldman use a sticky mat in few of her videos as well. I wanted to try, but just didn’t. Dish soap (dawn) and warm water works great to clean the sticky mats. It especially works great when you drop your mat facedown on a floor with pet hair and my case black hair 🤣🤣🤣. Your time is always appreciated on making great videos.
Well, in all the years I've used my electronic die cutting machine AND my MISTI, it never dawned on me to use that sticky mat in my MISTI! I've got a couple of sticky mats that have cracked on one end out the other. Still haven't thrown them out, and now I won't. Thanks again for a wonderful tip.
As always I learn so much from your videos--Thank you so much! I'm going to give away my age by saying that I've never ordered a mouse pad with any of the MISTIs I have because I just didn't think I needed one for my computer's mouse. When computers first came out, we had to use a rubber pad (called a mouse pad) to roll the mouse around on--it helped the little roller ball under the mouse track without slipping. Good Grief! I must say that I thought it was odd that a relic from the past was being sold. Once I saw this video where you showed and demonstrated the mouse pad, I couldn't stop giggling at my ignorance. Yep, we also had a party line telephone.
I'll bet Tim will never sue her for it though... I'm thankful Tim is still allowed to sell his invention with the unique features the stamping plattform has where I live.
I bought the original Misti when it first came out and love it to this day. I also bought the Tim Holtz stamping platform and it was a big disappointment. I tried everything and could never get a good stamp impression. My Misti has never let me down. While I like the improvements on the new one, I will wait until mine wears out before purchasing it. Jennifer, you are an inspiration for all crafters and are greatly appreciated!
This is part of why I love your videos so much Jennifer, I have followed you for many many years and I constantly learn something new..Sticky matts..news to me! Will make life of crafting easier, as usual thank you for sharing your learned knowledge!!so thankful..
I have the old misti, the cosmetic changes to the new one are nice but not worth buying a new one. I find I reach for my Memory Keepers Precision Press a lot more nowadays as I can get bigger pieces of card in it because there are no sides.
OH.....thank you. You have helped me so much. I have watched videos where these products are used, and have decided to purchase this product with many of the accessories. You have instilled confidence in me that I will be able to use the pieces in more ways than I ever would have known on my own. Again, thank you.
Absolutely an super informative video, Jennifer. Thank you so very much. I know people will laugh, but I have always had trouble using those corner pieces for the Misti. Now I know why. DUH! Close the lid on the stamp and then remove the corner piece. I was removing the corner piece and my stamp would still be crooked! LOL!
Jennifer...thanks so much for sharing all of your tips/hack/tricks for the MISTI! I ordered the new rendition and can't wait for it to arrive...I already own the original mini and memory versions and LOVE them! I have another stamping tool from another company(SU) and haven't been happy with it at all and have wanted the regular size for a LONG time...I am so excited and will donate to another crafty friend....YOU are BLESSING and this is SO helpful!!
i so love watching your videos. A few days I think I was on my computer for over 4 hours watching them. Only trouble with that is when I went to do the cards I forgot the first few tips. Now I try out what you are showing along with you & take notes. Thank you for being such a great instructor o so many ideas.
I have been using Sizzix’s Sticky Grid Sheets (6” x 8 1/2”) for the last year and have not had to use my magnets. It has the sticky stuff on both sides and holds your paper extremely well. You get 5 sheets per pack and I have only used two sheets so far.
I use those, too! And I’ve used the same sheet through quarantine without it losing its stickiness, so I can definitively say that a single sheet can last about 3 - 4 months with moderate to heavy use.
Hi Jennifer, Love all the hints, especially the sticky mat, I have 2 electric cutting machine, and when the mats really get grime get some adhesive remover get all the glue off, then wash it in warm soapy water, and then use 2 way glue pen with a broad nip and a little water on your sheet and rub it on with your fingers, let it air dry and your good to go, you can do this quite often and they last as well, I hope this is helpful to you and our crafty friends, TFS, Cheers Anna.
Thank you, Jennifer. I've been in papercrafting since the 90s & bought a mini MISTI (cost) as soon as it came out. Even I learned a few new tricks from this video. Love your videos...and you & your family. Have a great day!
Dear Jennifer, Thanks for another excellent tutorial. I had already watched Simon Hurley's comparison of the two MISTIs but it's always helpful to hear another professional's take on things. (Note: Simon refers to the spot for the magnet as its "parking spot.") As another astute viewer pointed out, around 17:20, you give the card measurements as 4.5" x 5.5" -- should be 4.25" x 5.5". I point this out not to be critical but to help any new-to-stamping folks who might be confused or to anyone who thinks "Man, I must need new glasses!" I ordered the new MISTI in May after watching so, so many people use it and rave about it. I had no idea that a new version would launch so soon after. Shoot. I feel foolish now, but how could I have known? I'm hardly a stamping community insider LOL. I can't justify another purchase of a new MISTI, although I like the update and think it will be easier to use. Oh, well. One day.... Thanks to all the commenters below who offered tips for cleaning the sticky mat and for making it last.
Very complete coverage of the new Misti and comparison with the old Misti. Very helpful and informative, thank you for sharing! I learned some new things! I love my Misti!!!
Thank you so much for putting together this very helpful and informative video. I appreciate you sharing your “hacks”! It makes stamping that much easier for those of us who struggle in certain areas. I’ve found using the negative die cuts, as you’ve shown before, a real lifesaver in getting my stamps lined up properly. Your kindness and generosity of spirit help us all excel with cardmaking. Thanks again.
Jennifer, for cleaning your sticky made you can use Dawn soap and warm water with a scrapper. Then let dry and use zig glue and let dry. If it is too sticky use your hands so the oils fro. Your hands to make it less tacky. Thank you for sharing. If that doesn’t work for you clean with alcohol and your scrapper and once again use zig glue. That’s should help you with your sticky mat. Aloha, Lisa k
Great video Jennifer, thank you. Use non-alcohol baby wipes to clean your sticky mat. Ty to avoid wiping with a cloth as it will leave fibres and you will lose the sticky a lot sooner. Dish soap and warm water to clean. Let air dry and it will be sticky again.
This is one to download! Love this update and comparison. I have found with sticky there’s a product called “Totally Awesome” Cleaner. It’s in a spray bottle from the dollar store or Amazon ($7.89 for 32 oz). The cleaner is yellow in color. It can either reactivate the stick on your mat or clean it all off if you leave it on for a long time and use a craft scraper. In the case of cleaning all off, I have used Thermoweb Pixie Spray or Zig Two way Glue pens to renew the stick. This worked for me on Cricut mats. Haven’t used it on Scan and Cut mats before.
All you have to do to clean the sticky mats, is first don't worry about cleaning them, it's not important to clean them. But, when ready and ready to restick it, wash it with scrubby pad, and then there is this crazy idea and it works. You get the tacky glue (fairly cheap), mix it with glue and water (about 50/50) and paint it on the map with one of those 25 cent sponge brushes... you can google it , i can't remember who's idea it is, sorry but way cheaper than buying more mats.
Thank you for sharing this video and the great hacks! I love watching your videos and they always make my day! I have a Silhouette and have a bunch of sticky mats and NEVER thought about using the mats with my MISTI. I have the original and the mini, and they also changed my life! Before I knew they existed, I had a hard time getting even stamping, no matter what stamp I used. I even got the Fiskars one with the foam feet and I still couldn't get stamping right. The MISTI is a must-have for me! I love the new features but at this moment, the original works well for me.
I have A MISTI but haven't used it since I got THE Tim Holtz platform. I've been using Glad Press n Seal like you use the sticky mat for over a year. It's cheap and easy to replace about once a week.
🤤Next investment. My mum gave me the mini misti a couple years ago as a gift, and I don’t stamp without it anymore! Game changer! But recently I’ve purchased larger stamp sets that don’t quite fit or I want them off the edge, and mini doesn’t cut it. So I’ve been wanting the regular size for a little while now. These new improvements are awesome! Super excited! Thanks for sharing ☺️
What a great trick with the sticky mat! I have a silhouette and never thought of using it🤦🏻♀️. I would suggest you not wipe the mat off with the microfiber towel. It will make the sticky less sticky. You can run it under water to clean and the sticker will come back
I also clean my cricut mat with Mr clean scrubbers. I have a sticky mat from Little B and also a Stampin Up stamp positioner. I like that the doors come off and have two for consecutive stamping but that is my preference. The Misti has a lot of great points also! Thank you for all the tutorials and hacks! Stay safe and God bless you and your family!
Oh, Jennifer, the sticky mat hack is genius! I’ve been using sticky grid from Sizzix, but it wears out quickly. I will be switching over to your method immediately. I know I have some older mats I can use until I order some new ones. The best thing you can do for those mats is to keep them covered when not in use. Thanks for another wonderful idea!
Merci beaucoup pour toutes ces explications Jennifer! Je pourrai mieux me servir des accessoires, pour l'instant gardés dans un tiroir. Bonne journée et bonne semaine!
If I manufactured craft tools I'd hire you to review and use it before production. Then all the tools would work better and we wouldn't need work arounds!! Thank you so much for sharing all your ideas, tips, and tricks for using our beloved tools!!!
Hi - I’d been waiting to get a stamping platform, & one that was reasonably priced with a craft supply store here in 🇨🇦, has been out of stock for a very long time. Then last week I discovered a local store that had this size of the Misti at a much better price than I’d been seeing so far, so I was able to get it! Your video was in my feed & it’s great - really helpful for such a newbie like me. Thank you!!
I’ve clean my mat with baby wipes in between a good cleaning, which I’ll use an old dish scrubber brush with dish soap to remove the old adhesive. Goo Be Gone might work too. Once the mat is dry I use a large 2 in 1 glue stick and coat the mat. I use my old mats in the Misti as well as for stacking thin dies or words when I want dimension. The stick on the mat helps keep thin words in place for stacking as well.
Great tips for the Misti! I’ve used bleach wipes on my sticky mat to restore the ‘sticky’. I’ve also done the same wipes on cell phone protective cover. If I could get the cover off without damage to apply to another of the same size phones, I’ve used the bleach wipes to clean the inside and it restores the ‘sticky’ to use again. Also, cricuit has different holds on there Matt’s from a light to strong hold depending on the paper or product you’re cutting with the machine...
I love watching your channel. I’ve learned so much in the past couple of weeks .I actually added your link to my customers on my video . I think they can learn so much from you. 🎀
Hey Jennifer! Thank-you, once again, for a very informative video! I truly appreciate the time that you invest in trying out all of these products and then, spend even more time creating a video and sharing your findings with us! I have learned SO much from you over the past 7 or 8 (?) years! Thanks again, for all that you do!
Nice to see some of the changes for the Misti, but when Stampin' Up! came out with their Stamperatus a few years ago, I abandoned my Misti and sold both. SU's product has 2 hinged plates, one on the side and one on the top, so you can double your stamping, which is great for layer stamping The doors can also be picked up out of the hinges and moved down at 1" increments. I'll always have a special place in my heart for the Misti, but I can't go back. However, I can use some of your tips with my Stamperatus. TFS :)
Thanks so much for this wonderful video. I'm one of "those" who click "like" before I begin watching your videos! Ha ha! And I also save many of them to my "Jennifer McGuire" RUclips playlist. I have owned the Mini-Misti since they came out. Two years ago I received the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform as a Christmas gift. I was so excited to have a larger surface to use when stamping. But I have to say...I don't like it at all and have stopped using it. I have wanted the larger Misti for a long time. When I saw the new one demonstrated in January at that craft event...(can't remember the name of it)... I knew I'd be getting it. I just ordered it this week when we were able to pre-order. Can hardly wait to get it. Thank you for showing us these ideas. I love stamping sentiments on strips of cardstock that I have left over, but usually mess it up. Your idea for using the sticky grid sheet is brilliant! I have two Cricuts and never thought to cut one of these mats down for this purpose. I usually use removable tape and that doesn't work nearly as well...and can be rather costly and wasteful. I always learn so much from your videos and you continue to amaze me. You help me to be a more patient crafter, making better use of my crafting time and I enjoy making cards because of it. Thank you Jennifer! And God bless you for taking time to share your creativity with all of us.
Thanks for your time doing this. I like your “to the point,” narrative. You helped me decide on the new version. Now I’ll be looking up your other tutorials! 👏🏻👍🏼
Thanks again Jennifer. Have you tried laminating a grip paper sheet and adding sticky spray? I think I would try it if I needed my grids. I love the grids.
Nice that they corrected their design flaw. When my hinges wore out and no longer made duplicate images, I was told by the company that was NORMAL I put it in the garbage, purchased the cheaper (by far) Tim Holtz and have no signs of wear and tear. MISTI was a waste money.
Not sure if you tried this or not but I use the tim holtz sticky grid paper. It’s double sided so it sticks right to the Misti pad! It works beautifully! And it comes in different sizes!
Thanks so much for all the great tips!! I especially love the sticky mat idea. I use a baby wipe to clean mine off and it works great, cleans it and restores the stickiness. Thanks again. Take care ❤️
I love the sticky mat idea. One way to keep it sticky longer is to cut the carrier sheet(cover for it) and put that back on when you are done with it. It will keep it cleaner and make it stay sticky longer!
Thank you for taking the time to share all these great tips Jennifer. So excited to try the idea using the sticky cutting mats--I was just needing something to stay put in the middle of my Misti last night and wishing I had a way to do that. Big hugs for all your hard work--It's much appreciated. ❤️
Jennifer, thanks you so much for sharing all your expertise! I have been papercrafting a long, long time and all your tips and tricks NEVER fail to disappoint. I learn something new with every video. I clean my Cameo Sticky mats with adhesive lint rollers. I also use it to clean my cutting pads and silicone mat. They are cheap and work like a charm! I saw that someone uses the Sizzix Accessory Sticky Grid Sheets 6" x 8 1/2. I am going to try this.
Thank you for the time and effort you put into this video and all your videos. I have just started in cardmaking, and I have learned a lot from your tutorials, Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge and time,
Cleaning your sticky mat. I use awesome from the dollar store, doesn’t take away the sticky ness from the mat. Works very well. If need I use spray adhesive Love this video, for all the tips
This is so unbelievably cool!!! I have been stamping for years also and have never seen this tool. Where has this been on my life lol!! Thank you for sharing this video. I can not wait to get this!😆😁
I have used a lot of those mats. I have a silhouette cameo and a scan n cut. I have used name brands and more generic mats. The brother mats are the worst of all of them. The silhouette, cricut, and some of the other brands I have purchased on line last longer. I still use low tack spray adhesive to restick when they lose their stick. This is an awesome idea to use them in misti. Will definitely be doing that
Such a great tutorial Jennifer, not sure why I've not seen this before?! Really useful seeing your 'hacks' for getting stamps and dies lined up, so much awesome information here, thank you! xoxo
Hi! A few things:
--- There are LOTS of great suggestions here in the comments on how to care and clean stick mat. thanks, everyone!
Right now, I'm subbed, because I do like many of your makes and techniques, but I know I'm only a drop in your sea, so my sub doesn't matter.
i think it is ok that we use different stamping tools! :)
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
thank you - means sooooo much. xo
Ditto!
😅
I use Mr Clean Magic Eraser to clean my sticky mat. Works perfectly and sticky always comes back 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks! I’ll try that in the future! 😊
Fabulous tip!
Does any of the eraser ever come off onto the mat?
GodsDesire4me the original? IOW, no soap, no rough side? Love the originals for so much.
GodsDesire4me Good to know👍. Thank’s
When I don't use it...somehow I manage to be off every single time. sigh ;)
awesome tip thank you!
Thank you so very much for all this info! I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL YOU DO HELP US. The new MISTI looks like they’ve made a lot of improvements. I REALLY like all your die hacks.
Mary P a great hack👍. Thank’s 😁
I watch and take her classes on Udemy about how to use the Scan and Cut she's got great videos :)
Kim will be glad to hear you support her! @thepapered chef
Thank you for suggesting her...new subscriber
Yep, jennifer is amzing but the papered chef too when it comes to the scan n cut
Finally ordered new and improved MISTI… excellent comparison as well as very helpful tips and tricks to get even more use from it. Thanks for sharing your creativity and experience that adds joy to our crafting passion. Have a great day! 🙂
Great to hear!
I’m new to card making and you videos have been incredible to watch, your such an amazing teacher. I’m currently going back and watching all your content to learn more about card making, thank you 🙏
I totally agree with you!!! She is amazingness!!!
Best Wishes
Stephanie James
I'm from Australia 😀 Thanks for the cleaning ideas for cricut mats cheers
You are AMAZING! so thank you for all your blood, sweat and tears that you put into your videos❤️❤️💞💞
thank you. it can be very painful after spending days working on a video. so i appreciate it!
That's a great idea! I will try that with my Tim Holtz platform. Thanks for the tip. 😊
Good luck!!
What is the cleaning ‘cloth/rag’ you are using...is there cleaner or water sprayed on it?
Thank you for that tip! I really appreciate it! 🤗
On the newer mats you don’t want to use Dawn. It will ruin it. Just a baby wipe will work.
Me too!!!! Jennifer has taught me so much!!!
The metal hinges and door overhang - features in the Tim Holtz stamping platform.
Beth Jeans Maybe Tim Holtz should now sue her for patent violations.
I hope someone got paid for innovating those specific ideas! Someone like TH!
Beth Jeans ur the top always came off when I used a friends. Not a fan of it but happy it works for you.
I have the Tim Holtz one as well and it has no where near the features of the Misti, I wish I'd never bought the TH one.
I love the sticky mat ideas.
I have the old misti, the cosmetic changes to the new one are nice but not worth buying a new one. I find I reach for my Memory Keepers Precision Press a lot more nowadays as I can get bigger pieces of card in it because there are no sides.
I don't have a misti, Ithink they are to expensive but I do have the memory keepers precision press and I love it
I never miss your videos! As an educator, I appreciate your clear, concise directions. So many great ideas using the Misti! Thank you!
Thank you, Jennifer. As always, this video is clear and concise and oh so helpful. You are a pleasure to watch every time!
LOL!
Thank goodness you decided to be a crafter instead of an engineer--what would we do without your ingenuity?? I'm amazed at how clever these ideas are!
I love these instructional and informational videos. Keep them coming please.
I have been using Sizzix’s Sticky Grid Sheets (6” x 8 1/2”) for the last year and have not had to use my magnets. It has the sticky stuff on both sides and holds your paper extremely well. You get 5 sheets per pack and I have only used two sheets so far.
This is what I use also but I just got the small ones. I love it and don't have to use my magnets.
I use those, too! And I’ve used the same sheet through quarantine without it losing its stickiness, so I can definitively say that a single sheet can last about 3 - 4 months with moderate to heavy use.
I just got them... it having trouble keeping them down and not lifting especially with the foam pad. Any suggestions
Gail Wise thanks, I was wondering about those - though I just have the small ones at the present. I’ll get some.
Yes, that’s what I use also. Works great!!,
Hi Jennifer, Love all the hints, especially the sticky mat, I have 2 electric cutting machine, and when the mats really get grime get some adhesive remover get all the glue off, then wash it in warm soapy water, and then use 2 way glue pen with a broad nip and a little water on your sheet and rub it on with your fingers, let it air dry and your good to go, you can do this quite often and they last as well, I hope this is helpful to you and our crafty friends, TFS, Cheers Anna.
Thank you, Jennifer. I've been in papercrafting since the 90s & bought a mini MISTI (cost) as soon as it came out. Even I learned a few new tricks from this video. Love your videos...and you & your family. Have a great day!
Dear Jennifer,
Thanks for another excellent tutorial. I point this out not to be critical but to help any new-to-stamping folks who might be confused or to anyone who thinks "Man, I must need new glasses!"
I ordered the new MISTI in May after watching so, so many people use it and rave about it.
I love the grid from SSS and stamp on it to test placement.
Such a helpful video! I love how you have blended your technical side with your creative side ... and I can tell you are a kind person. Thanks!
Aloha,
Lisa k
I buy my Totally Awesome at the Dollar Tree. I get a 20 oz. spray bottle for $1.00 or a refill only bottle of 32 oz. for $1.00
"Totally Awesome" cleaner can at Dollar Tree
Thank you I have the org misti don’t see anything in the new one that would make me spend that kind of money but do love the misti
Is there a video on how to use the press and seal as a sticky mat because I can't find one
Thank you for these great tips! Many of these eliminate stamping frustrations as well as save us time!
You can run it under water to clean and the sticker will come back
I received the new misti for my birthday! Loved your video. Hope to pray this weekend
Just got my first Memory MISTI and this video has been so helpful! I know I'll come back to it again and again as I learn to use it.
If you watch the video you will see how I made it. I hope you enjoy it.
Tried using Jennifer’s technique for stamping multiple cards. Not to shabby for a first time!! Thanks Jennifer !!
The use of the sticky mat is ingenious! Thanks for the tips. I just wash my sticky mat with warm water and dawn dish soap.
You're such a blessing, Jennifer.
Thank you so much. I am shopping stamp positioners and your video helped me understand the differences and features of specific models.
I like the double-sided sticky mat, I was able to get rid of the hateful magnets once and for all. Insert big smile here, LOL.
I just love your videos and your way of informing and teaching. Wish I had discovered you much earlier!! Thank you. Keep safe. Love from South Africa
TFS :)
i am glad you found something you like! :)
Thanks for describing this in detail. I just got three of these in different sizes for $15 at an estate sale! ❤
Awesome... thank you. I use my geometry set for the triangle !!!
Thanks, I just ordered a Misti a few days ago, a nice reminder of all its uses
I love the sticky mat idea. One way to keep it sticky longer is to cut the carrier sheet(cover for it) and put that back on when you are done with it. It will keep it cleaner and make it stay sticky longer!
Thanks Jennifer! I wish I knew some hacks to share it with you, but no luck there. I hope you’ll have an awesome day!
I ordered this a few days ago and must say I wish I had watched this first. I had no idea what the mouse pad was for. Love your tips.
You have the greatest techniques and hacks! Thank you so much for sharing!
I have just started in cardmaking, and I have learned a lot from your tutorials, Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge and time,
Wonderful improvement on the new MISTI tool!! Thanks for sharing.
I have wanted to try this product for such a long time!! Thank you for sharing these tips!❤️❤️
Cleaning your sticky mat. I use awesome from the dollar store, doesn’t take away the sticky ness from the mat. Works very well. If need I use spray adhesive
Love this video, for all the tips
*facepalm* Cricut sticky mat!! Oh my goodness, my fave tip from this video!!! Thanks so much for sharing your great ideas, hacks and tips, Jennifer!!
This is so unbelievably cool!!! I have been stamping for years also and have never seen this tool. Where has this been on my life lol!! Thank you for sharing this video. I can not wait to get this!😆😁
Love the sticky mat idea! It would also be handy to hold small die cut pieces I have cut before coloring, to hold them as I color with any medium. TY
Will definitely be doing that
Love love love your hacks, especially the one about sticky paper. Thanks a million for sharing.
Thank you as usual!!! I purchased the sticky mat thru Amazon, it arrived today...it is huge...planning on sharing it with a few of my crafty friends
Such a great tutorial Jennifer, not sure why I've not seen this before?! Really useful seeing your 'hacks' for getting stamps and dies lined up, so much awesome information here, thank you! xoxo
