- Turf Wars. Yep. Finishing this video feels like killing a fly that’s been buzzing around your head for the past 5 hours. I’ve been melting over the past few weeks trying to get the next video done, but I hope it’ll be worth it, whenever it does come out.

the hideouts were fucking brutal. I died more times in those than playing through the game on ultimate twice.
Ironically I only died about 3 times during the Turf Wars story missions like the beginning where it just puts you into battle with a thousand enemies at once out of nowhere. The hideouts though, I didn't die at all somehow but after playing the first one on Ultimate, I had to go back to Spectacular because the rocket spam was too much and it was pissing me off lol.

The one hideout in Harlem that requires an 85 hit combo (or something like that) was a bitch. Too many minigun brutes and jetpack shields to really keep a combo past 65-70ish. Maybe I should lower the difficulty to the easiest setting so I can proudly say I completed every challenge in the game. I normally just try to improve but aside from spamming gadgets and finishers from my focus build, I have no clue how to keep a combo going long enough on Spectacular mode
5:00 Yuri was able take out the maggia goons (with a sable assault rifle, not her pistol *the same one she used at the end to "kill" hammer head) because a bar with no name don't allow guns, there's was a huge sign that said it (and when yuri shoot up the place, the sign was shot at *pointing out the irony).
Probably only the bar owner and the bartender had a gun, everyone else was unarmed. So it's completely possible (also she probably use a bomb to get in, not kicked the door in).
I missed the sign. Still, I think her having utterly decimated the entire joint is pushing it. Unless she has some kind of superhero stuff going on with the Wraith alter ego.

@@fernandis7808 The whole point of the Sable guns was that they were stupid good right? Like turn the tide of war good. That's why Hammerhead was all about getting them, because he figured they'd give him a ludicrous advantage over the other crime families. One highly trained police lady with a mass effect rifle and possibly other sable tech weaponry (like the snare she used against SM) vs a whole bunch of unarmed fuckheads seems like pretty shitty odds for the goons to me.
@@Whitelight but that's the whole point you're supposed to be incredulous that one policewoman could kill all those skins and considering that she had a silver sable weapon with her then it's totally feasible how she could do it all so she was fueled by rage which perfectly set up her wraith alter ego
I agree about the rain thing. It really annoyed me when they switched it to night. Rain was by far the best time to play in on the story.

Totally- and the separation of "worlds" means you'll never get rainy NY with the main game side activities.
I thought The Heist was better than Turf Wars but both dlcs are disappointing imo.
I somehow hated doing hideouts more in the Dlc than in the main game

What I really liked is the Maggia Hideouts actually have MJ tell you about Yuri's father and how his past influenced Yuri to become a Cop. The set up for her to become Wraith was really well done.
I could see you dreading the possibility of more MJ missions, but something with Miles Next time would be cool.
You say Silver Sable, but I'm thinking we get something with Silvermane. At least having Hammerhead sort of implies that. Then again in Spectacular Spiderman, Hammerhead and Sable dated, so they might take something from that if they want to reintroduce her into the DLC. She will probably be pissed that Hammerhead is using her tech.

First off, why does Spider-Man get bullied by a woman who's only superpower is being Russian?
Secondly, what is her character? I've actually sat down with a council of character writers, Silver Sable superfans, psychologists, PMC leaders, Russians, female bodybuilders and the CEO of Eastern Europe's biggest white hair dye manufacturer in order to analyse her behavior and this is what we came up with:
Silver Sable arrives and jumps fifty feet out a helicopter before using restraints to fast for a man who dodges bullets for fun to avoid and to strong for a man who can lift a train to break. She threatens Spider-Man, Yuri tells her not to touch Spider-Man and Silver Sable says "I'm going to to punch Spider-Man in the dick" before leaving to play Red Dead Redemption 2 or something. Then she takes over the financial capital of America with an army of Russians which the National Guard just ignore and kicks Spider-Man in the face before leaving to dye her hair or something. Then Osborne's building is attacked by Demons and she hold Spider-Man at gunpoint. Spider-Man says "Turn good", Sable says "No", Spider-Man says "Please", Sable says "OK" and then she chooses to save his life instead of pursuing the man she's being paid to protect. Then she leaves town because she realizes that taking over foreign nations for money is a bad thing but can't take her men out of the city or tell them to not kill Spider-Man even though they work for her and then she leaves to oil herself up or suplex trees or drink Vodka or fuck a bear or starve to death in a gulag or whatever it is Russians do.
It's shit. It's shit in a bag. It's shit that's been left in a bag so long that it evolves into little shitty intelligent life forms. They make little shitty tools, build little shitty houses and fight little shitty wars over little shitty religions, little shitty resources and little shitty territories. And then one day they start creating little shitty fictional characters with incredible powers and one of them gets a little shitty video game made about them and one of the characters leads a little shitty PMC and her motivations make no sense and then everyone dies.
As much as I'd love to rest my tired head on Silva's pendulous pillowy tits as she wraps her big strong arms around me, kisses me on the forehead and tells me everything will be okay whenever I have a rough day ... She really can go fuck herself.

Both of these DLCs have been sooooooooooo disappointing. Let's just hope Insomniac can make the last one amazing.
Ikr. Hammerhead was mentioned like 100 times on the heist and all the henchman were HIS HENCHMAN. He didn't even APPEAR in the first dlc except for a silohouette in a photo. The first two DLC would have been better off being combined into one. The first DLC was longer and fun and good story, the second dlc was shorter but had a better story and less content. I hope they make the 3rd good..
Lol I love the optimism but it’s based off absolutely nothing. If they didn’t deliver on the first 2 why would they possibly deliver on the 3rd?

The Heist was a nice little side story that gave us some cool character moments but it should have been in the actual game instead of those boring surveillance missions that hinted at Black Cat's presence.

I'm just wishing for an actual, good boss fight. That's all I ask just one good boss fight in this game.
Remember when games had those? Good boss fights? Bosses that weren't more about the spectacle but the gameplay? I miss those times...

@@milboxr9772 They are providing an option to purchase red orbs which are used to upgrade the characters' abilities. You might want to buy them if you're a high level player who just wants every tool in the game available immediately so you can get to combo beasting as fast as possible or you're lazy and don't want to unlock the abilities by playing the game. They did this with 4 SE so this is nothing new. Yeah, it's a shame that microtransactions need to exist but they're not a flaw of the game, just an annoying business practice and if you're against them you can just not buy them. Simple.
Well, if you're looking for good boss fights, have you tried the Dark Souls saga? Now those are some amazing boss fights, most of them at least.

In all honesty, the Arkham-style press-A-to-dodge combat system doesn't really lend itself to interesting or inventive boss battles considering every major form of damage in the game can be avoided with the press of a single button, so you can only really shake up a fight by adding distractions or enviromental gimmicks.
It's pretty telling that the Mr. Freeze boss in Arkham City is considered to be the best in the series, given it is the only only one that doesn't involve the combat system at all.
Why tf can't the Spiderbot go on walls?

I'm not saying it's impossible, but keep in mind that Spider-Man has bullshit superpowers to stick to walls. For most things, sticking to walls is fairly difficult, especially when they're made of metal.
Turf Wars had my favorite mission in the whole game, in the Bar With No Name.

Nice of Spidey to not want to damage the construction site equipment. Really. he could have wrecked the cement mixer controls with one punch and gotten rid of that complication.

This gadget challenge was my favorite one mainly because its one of the strategies I actually use in combat. Too many people? Just web bomb them and blast them into the walls.

You’re both stupid. These dlcs aren’t fucking “play it so I don’t have too” level, but this guy isn’t just a “complainer” either. He’ll point out all the positives of the game and these dlcs, while criticism, Whitelight really likes Spider-Man ps4, and probably enjoyed playing the dlcs too, but just because like something doesn’t mean it’s perfect, everything can, and SHOULD be criticized, but criticized fairly as well, not just dismissed as absolutely horrible. You are both equally wrong.
If I'm being honest, Turf Wars hasn't been that enjoyable for me. I thought the story was pretty weak, am I seriously supposed to believe that Yuri has never dealt with death like this? I can maybe understand the one at the station but the raid has a pretty average number of people, surely she's seen that many die before. The crimes and hideouts feel like a slog to do. I love this game, I really really do but this DLC has been hard for me to 100% since I've always done it for the main game (3 times) and the Heist,

This was 100% me, I was so looking forward to having Turf War function as the rain setting. Ffs.
I died on the hammerhead fight like 5 times, more than the entire story on ultimate, and i still have only done one of the hideouts because other games distracted me but they seem to be really really hard too, but not the fun type of hard.
I wish they can add snow in the final dlc. Not alot just some flurries to set the mood of the holidays.

Uh, playing on Ultimate difficulty I found the Hammerhead boss fight to be the hardest in the game...he actually became easier in Silver Lining. But in Turf Wars I swear I kept unloading finishers on him and it just didn't kill him.
Man, the hideouts in this DLC were such brutal difficulty spike I was pretty much shocked. Like, playing on hardest difficulty in vanilla felt easier than on medium through this DLC. In one of the hideouts I died like 7 times before beating it, the other one like 4, and I just skipped the rest, screw that noise.

Waited for a sale and got the season pass for $10. I’d say, it’s always worth it waiting for sales when it comes to DLC.

I despise DLC's that are padded out by throwing way more enemies at you. The Alan Wake DLC's had this problem as well.

I know this video is old, and I agree with everything you say except that iron armor 1 was the most important. It was featured in one comic and one episode of the spiderman cartoon lol!
I know the price of the dlc doesn't apply anymore cause of the "remaster"
But I'd say there are way more worse dlcs out there in terms of overpriced, again not a great excuse, but it definitely didn't feel like a "scam"

She didn't bust in with a pistol, she had one of those Sable guns, but yeah, the whole "Yuri rampage" thing stretched the suspension of disbelief.
everyone loves the spider clan suit but me personally i like the comic book iron spider the best from the turf wars dlc. also i think silvermane might be apart of silver linings because silver is in his name (duh) and he is a member of the maggia and became the head of the maggia at one point and has hired hammerhead in the past and he was also one of kingpin's main rivals.
I love the comics version Iron Spider. I don't care about the Spider Clan suit at all. The manga-verse was incredibly stupid.
play the dlcs on ultimate difficulty.. it makes them much more satisfying especially the hammer head boss fight. He’ll mess you up.

Already beat the main game on Ultimate difficulty, and was extremely unsatisfied. It wasn't hard at all. The only times I died was to complete bullshit.

The lack of rain is probably a performance issue. Physics for things like that can get a bit crazy at times
yuri was good and the gameplay was even more agonising than the previous dlc. hammerhead is fucked and i loathe everything they did to him. i much prefer tombstone who i know less about.

@@Whitelight ill have to replay the game but there is literally one section where spiderman sighs in relief when he finds out that it wasnt her that killed everyone but then feels bad cause theyre all dead. How the fuck do u miss this? ill point it out here when i replay but its part of the main story.

Just finished 100%ing this DLC and I must say it was an improvement over The Heist. I loved the new shield enemies and overall the whole thing felt a bit harder. I also thought the plot had more weight this time. I hated how all the interesting details between Peter and Felicia all turned out to be bullshit last time. We know she's not really dead so the entire DLC felt throwaway. Not the case here which is much better.
"The Bar with No Name" was such a dissapointment for me 'cause in the comics it's a safe place for all Supervillians in New-York, so i was hyped to visit that place, and when it turned out to be just an illegal bar, was incredibly bad.
I know Yuri is a badass and all but I wish we would've at least seen evidence of her grabbing more sable tech. Like, she destroyed parts of the interior with just a pistol? I could believe she could take all those guys down if she was well armed, especially because they all had their weapons taken at the door but it seems a little too unbelievable considering that would be a decent fight for freaking spider-man. Plus it's not clear if she killed those guys or not but the story didn't treat it like she did.
I think Insomniac DOES in fact watch these vids. There's 1 dislike right now and I can't imagine anyone else disliking this very well constructed and objective critique. Either that or it's someone that really hates rain as much as Insomniac LOL

Turf Wars was too hard. I got stuck in a hideout
I liked the story in Turf Wars. I just think it could've used some more breathing room. At times it felt like it was a little forced to fit within the one-and-a-half to the two-hour time frame. Which is my main concern for Silver Lining. I hope that stuff isn't just crammed in without any leg room.

Yeah, it was really not fun to do the hideouts even though the guys where safe when u sneaky attacked them somehow the other guys still saw me and I have to fight like 6 waves of brutes and guys with whips and gun and the shield guys just not fun.
I like that there's at least one area of the game that's reliably hard.

The main game was already trying my patience towards the end so I'm not sure I want to get the dlc.
As someone who liked the DLC, if you were tired at the end of the main game the DLC is just more of the same but harder and with a less interesting story so you should probably avoid it.

Not the best DLCs ever, but I enjoyed the content nonetheless
As much as I'm enjoying these DLCs, I was hoping for a change of scenery. Maybe a visit to Queens, with the shorter buildings forcing a different traversal style. It'd be a good way to throw in Easter eggs, as it his Peter's home borough and it would make sense for him to go back after Aunt May's death.
Not going to happen, I guarantee.
If they're ever going to model more of New York it will be during a sequel, not a DLC.
I was disappointed with the actual gameplay or story, I was disappointed with the length. $15 for what took 1 hour (maybe less) to complete? Ridiculous. (No I did not do the mini games, I've platinumed the game already and have no interest in repeating the same stuffed all over again for each dlc.)
