They was in my vanvault with a 4ft gemmy bar in under a minute and took everything.. all on cctv.. old bill done f'all

tbh lock easy to lockpick and an experienced thief would know how to defeat the hinge with just bolt cutters, but which street loser can do either?

Yes, scrotes were in my earlier Vanvault in no time, it was in a building and not my van and for sure, better than nothing, having nothing is an invite, having a vanvault is detering many and buying time.
We always just put 20mm Starrett cutter straight though the lock. Normally on a Monday morning when the guy with the key decided to have the day off

Must have been told where not to attack ... almost centre of the lid away from hinge and locking mechanism, same with recipricating saw and grinder locations... just why ?

This was pointless, they both attacked it completely wrong too long with the wrong tools - the sledge hammer on top wasn't ever going to do anything! Van vaults are great where you have the room to open that top (Which can be a bitch in tight vans) , but my strong advice is to also add a couple of extra Hasps and good padlocks - it buys time.

If you tighten the drill chuck by hand then twist it back slightly this will lock the chuck... the drill bit will NOT fall out.
