Aonuma-san already said he's glad to finally complete the game but would love to keep adding ideas in later. Might be implying DLC might stop or might be continuing in the future.
As someone who has every issue of Nintendo Power ever printed, I am delighted to see it return. I think future podcasts should have game tips and strategies, a la Classified Information and Counselors' Corner.
That would be cool, but honestly I don't see a podcast being a great format for game tips or strategies. It worked wonderfully in the magazine, especially since there wasn't the massive internet resources that are available now. I think focusing on the behind the scenes or detailed pieces of a game is more interesting, since it is incredibly insightful.
Nintendo Power is back! This was on the Nintendo subreddit a few hours ago and I'm not surprised that they uploaded this to RUclips. Cheers for nintendo!
it has nothing to do with censorship, it just happened to release right when the ds was new so it wasnt a smart business decision to release something for dying hardware
I really liked this!! And wow, in one day Nintendo begins a podcast, releases new iMessage stickers, and confirms Super Mario Odyssey’s OST to launch on iTunes!! I love all the branching out!!
Sadly, the Mario Odyssey music on iTunes will just be a 12-song music selection rather than the full OST, 4 of the selected songs being variations of Jump Up Superstar
you are crazy, they are not even rivals. This will obviously be superior to anything gamexplain has, while they record a 3 hour talk discussing THIS podcast.
As far as Nintendo focused podcasts go, IGNs NVC is clearly superior to the "fanzine" podcasts mentioned. This was good, but a podcast from the company itself loses on the fact that they never will critizise themselves.
I think Getting interviews on here is a good start. Personally I'd like the name "Nintendo Power" live up to itself a bit better. Include strategy tips, reader mail, previews, maybe a short cartoon invoking the old comic strips we use to get.
I had the first issue of Nintendo Power magazine, and now, I have the first episode of Nintendo Power podcast. It's amazing how much things have changed, except for the fact that Nintendo still makes some of the best games ever. :)
Feedback: 1) make it a video too 2) distribute via all channels (ie Apple Music/podcast) 3) double down on the retro theme - relate new systems to old systems, talk about old games, be retro too 4) follow Nintendo powers table of contents - letters, artwork, tips, etc. Mimic the magazine. Good luck!
I'm so glad to see Nintendo Power return in any form. I had been reading it ever since I was little with some earliest things I remember reading being a article about the original Animal Crossing and another one about Luigis Mansion. I kept getting Nintendo Power all the way to the very last issue. I lost so many over the years (Because I was a kid) but now that I'm a adult that can buy his own things online I have made it my goal to complete my Nintendo Power collection because I want to relive the articles I read back in the early 2000's and even read "new" ones
Thank you so much for doing this. A modern take on Nintendo Power is really welcome these days, and I would definitely love all the insider tidbits that made Nintendo Power so unique! Please get more time with Devs!
I really appreciate that this is a real podcast with honest discussions and interesting talking points. Really relieved that this isn't just another avenue for advertisement.
How about a similar format to the magazine? Letters to the editor, strategies, classified information, previews, interviews, reviews, giveaways(?)... This is a great first step though. Welcome back, NP.
This is a Nintendo Podcast so there isn't much more you can do to improve it but showing gameplay footage of the games you're discussing during the podcast in the video you post to RUclips would make the Podcast fell complete. It's great that we finally have an official Nintendo Power Podcast and I look forward to more episodes.
This is pretty awesome. Hard to expect a print magazine to come back in this day and age. But using the Nintendo Power brand for an official podcast? Brilliant. Really didn't expect anything like this from Nintendo.
*Wow it’s back.* I have (almost 😪) every issue of Nintendo Power and this podcast is a joy to listen to. Also the fact that it’s *free* makes it 100x better. Great job, Nintendo! Keep it up!!!
My first Nintendo Power ever, and it’s revived in the best year Nintendo had in years. It was great listening to the podcast! Many more to come I hope!
I have got to say - WELCOME BACK! I always knew you guys would come back one way or another eventually. Who knew you guys would embrace current trends though? Here's hoping you guys are here to stay. Looking back, it's been 10 YEARS since I appeared in the magazine in July 2006s Community section... man that was fun. ;P
Very impressed by how open Nintendo was in this, not holding back for PR purposes, rather, just talking naturally about games in 2017 and employees' experiences :) very much enjoyed it
This was a great episode. Awesome to see Nintendo Power still alive and I hope to hear my interviews like this with that minds that create all the games we know and love from Nintendo.
Thank you so much for bringing back Nintendo Power as a podcast. I just found this while looking up news on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Thank you again for reviving Nintendo Power in another form..."Now you're playing with power"
So awesome to see an official Nintendo podcast! I would love to experience a better quality production that isn't so laid-back as every other podcast. The interview on the 2nd half was absolutely great! Reminds me of the Iwata videos. I love this exclusive detailed look into the creation/making of games. So more of that! Maybe peek into the lives of third-party devs. Have some more awesome director/producer guests. Enjoyed the quiz! Really love the idea and look forward to more podcast content!
This is amazing!! I’m so happy that Nintendo Power is back in podcast form! I was a huge fan of Nintendo Power magazine back in the day! Thank you so much for bringing the brand back in a fun and positive way. You guys rock!!
Thank you so much for staring this Podcast! I loved the insights into the making of BOTW. The team is off to a great start. That being said, these are the meager suggestions I would make for the future success of the podcast as both a service to us Nintendo fans and future converts alike: Please make it weekly! Preferably on a Friday, giving us a chance to listen on the weekend as we play our favorite Switch titles at home or on the go. It might help to break up the podcast into segments. For example, start out with the obligatory Introduction, then move into a News segment that transitions into the main topic, be that an interview or highlight a relevant topic that concerns most gamers. The end can be a Retro Segment that gives a fascinating insight into a classic game or series, then end the show on a recap of the Games On Sale at the moment (for Switch, WiiU or 3DS). Any one of these segments would be a huge help to the listener. More Jose Otero! He was a wealth of knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for all things Nintendo back when he was hosting IGN's own Nintendo Podcast, and to have him as a recurring guest or HOST would do a lot to further accrue good will with the fan base! Have fun with the project. Stay true to our friend Iwata's credo as we do. Thank you.
:D Imagine my surprise when I ready 'Nintendo Power' in the title!!! I was a LONG LONG time subscriber to the magazine, getting promotional videos for Donkey Kong Country, Nintendo 64, Diddy Kong Racing, and... wait for it... POKeMON (which is what got me into the series) All memories aside, it was fun to listen to this podcast! It gave me something to listen to while playing my Switch and/or 3DS!!! Thank you Nintendo for creating this Podcasts!!! I'm sure I'll be listening to each and every one from now on!
I find this podcast a coincidence for me because I recently heard of Nintendo Force magazine, another passion project from people who loved Nintendo Power magazine. Anyway, I'm glad Nintendo Power is coming back in a way many people can enjoy it. Keep up the great work.
Nice surprise to see you guys bring back the "Nintendo Power" brand. I've never actually owned a copy of the magazine myself (having worked at Sega instead) but I definitely appreciate the respect this brand has.
This is awesome:) I am only 18 so I couldn't be with Nintendo power from the beginning but I was subscribed to the magazine for about a year until it was cancelled. So glad I can be here for the first ever Nintendo power podcast now!
Love the podcast, fan of the old Nintendo power. The developer interview was great and would love to see more of those. I also enjoy the commentary at the beginning on games that everyone has been playing. Having a throwback to the old publication would be awesome in future episodes such as strategy tips and reading and answering listener mail.
Loved hearing from the guests! (Especially Kitt because i love Nintendo Minute) and also loved hearing about the development from Breath of the Wild! The thing i always loved about Nintendo power was looking at new games that were coming out and also getting a look at games i had never played before. Not sure how to incorporate that into a Podcast though. But DEFINITELY have more retro throwbacks!
Incredibly memorable experiences, coming home from school or what-have-you in my younger days to a brand new Nintendo Power magazine every month. . . I still have a decent collection of them stashed away in storage. Commenting before I've yet listened to this, but looking forward to it and hope it will continue strong as time continues to pass.
It's great to see an 'official' revival of Nintendo Power! Admittedly, with the dominance of the Internet, the desire for a monthly magazine focused primarily on previews and reviews became rather moot. Things I enjoyed: 1) The developer interview! Anything of an "insider insight" angle is always fascinating! 2) The Warp Zone quiz. Any of these little fun 'games' are something I enjoy, and if they were ones that featured in some fashion in the original run of Nintendo Power, all the better! 3) Timestamps in the description! Like with a magazine, it's nice to be able to skip around to the parts that interest me the most. Things I didn't care for: 1) The "Switch over 2017" parts. Unless you start building "editorial voices" (something the hosts over at Nintendo Minute have done) that offer particular personalities or unique thoughts of their own, I don't find it that interesting to listen about something I otherwise consider too generic that I can find elsewhere. 2) The "podcast" format. I get the impression this wasn't designed for youtube first, and I realize the advantages of a podcast as far as listening on the go and a simpler production effort, and I feel unless you have some really engaging dialogue, either in personality or in perspectives, that it becomes background noise to me. Things I'd like to see: 1) Any other elements that were in the original run of Nintendo Power! Sure, a lot of the staple preview/review/etc. meat and potatoes can be found elsewhere, even on this channel, and it'd be neat to see maybe a minute-long audio 'comic' in the spirit of Nester, or a mailbag response, or what have you. 2) Visuals! Again, I realize that the "podcast" format might be a staple for audio-only, and if there's any visual consideration, I don't need full-blown /video/ parts, just things like, if you do a mailbag, showing art people submit, or if you're doing an interview, showing the faces of the people who are talking. I look forward to seeing where this goes! :)
*childhood flashes before eyes*
I remember the last Nintendo Power ;-;
Woobin The Scrub I really only followed their magazines for a year, but they still hold a special place in my heart
I saw this and I looked up at my poster from the last issue that’s been on my wall since 2012!!

*AN OFFICIAL NINTENDO PODCAST?!! AND IT'S NINTENDO POWER?!!!!*
It's a Christmas miracle! :'D
NintendoFan Really : D
Yep
agreed
I'm hyped too
I like it when it is just when one picture the whole time so if I'm doing something, I can listen to the Podcast!
Now you're playing with power!
Man, those magazines used to bring me so much joy back in the day
Now you're playing with Reggie is the new motto

SuperRichie64 not only that but there is still a chance we might get more zelda dlc!!!
Aonuma-san already said he's glad to finally complete the game but would love to keep adding ideas in later. Might be implying DLC might stop or might be continuing in the future.

"Strike me down and I'll come back in a stronger form"--Nintendo Power.
Juan Gonzalez _"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine."_
Juan Gonzalez yes Nintendo power is a force ghost
Like a powered-up Pac-Man (Chiefs song).
As someone who has every issue of Nintendo Power ever printed, I am delighted to see it return. I think future podcasts should have game tips and strategies, a la Classified Information and Counselors' Corner.
InuYugiHakusho tried NF mag?
When you say every issue does that include the side/bonus issues such as the 20 Years Of Nintendo Power issue or all of the Pokemon specials?
Yes.
And they could have visual references in this format. Well, for youtube anyway..
I absolutely love Nintendo Power! It should definitely come back.
NeoBlitz the Prinny try NF mag
It's not going to come back. Their deal with Future expired.
NeoBlitz the prinny i want some experience as well but I live in Israel so it's unlikely I will get it.
It is back my dude, just in Internet form! (It's not the same sadly but we can only be thankful its not gone forever😁)
I'd probably subscribe. I fuggin' loved getting those in the mail.
Adding this to the list of things I never knew I needed
Nintendo Power is back! This was on the Nintendo subreddit a few hours ago and I'm not surprised that they uploaded this to RUclips.
Cheers for nintendo!
An official podcast, nice thing! I love it

Hey! Roger!
:D
But is it better than China time?
I'm sad that Nintendo Power (magazine) ended before I was old enough to buy my own stuff. Super stoked to see this.
Where's Mother 3
Edits: Thanks for the upvotes and dang look at these haters, it was just a silly, half serious question. Anyway, have a good day.
Not my problem.

Sadly, the Mario Odyssey music on iTunes will just be a 12-song music selection rather than the full OST, 4 of the selected songs being variations of Jump Up Superstar
Holy crap, Mario music on iTunes? Sweet, guess they were happy with how well 'Jump Up, Super Star!' did.
The ultimate rival to GameXplain discussions.
you are crazy, they are not even rivals. This will obviously be superior to anything gamexplain has, while they record a 3 hour talk discussing THIS podcast.
Bruce Wayne well it was mostly a joke.
while switch force is sitting in a corner
As far as Nintendo focused podcasts go, IGNs NVC is clearly superior to the "fanzine" podcasts mentioned. This was good, but a podcast from the company itself loses on the fact that they never will critizise themselves.
I prefer the GXplain discussions probably because I've watched them longer than any other podcast so I've grown to really like the GXplain team
We all want Nintendo power back
Woah, woah, woah! My jaw dropped when I got a notification about this. Please bring Nintendo Power back please!
I think Getting interviews on here is a good start. Personally I'd like the name "Nintendo Power" live up to itself a bit better. Include strategy tips, reader mail, previews, maybe a short cartoon invoking the old comic strips we use to get.
It's just in name only. Totally different.

I sense a disturbance in the force.
Can't wait for the six hour GameXplain video analyzing this podcast.
Just wanna say, *incredible* name for an official Nintendo podcast.
I had the first issue of Nintendo Power magazine, and now, I have the first episode of Nintendo Power podcast. It's amazing how much things have changed, except for the fact that Nintendo still makes some of the best games ever. :)
If the quality is high, once a month would be awesome! Quality over quantity.
Like the good old days
Really glad to see the name "Nintendo Power" back.
now your listening with power
NINTENDO POWER IS BACK! WHAT A SURPRISE! THANKFULLY IT ISN'T A ONE-TIME THING!
it's a miracle.
Also, the opening theme is nice.
Wished they bring back the magazine sometime in the future.
That would be so sick
We need that magazine back
internet killed magazines
I think we need more Kit! He's just an amazing person, and I love his sense of humor.
Wow an official podcast that's incredible. You guys could talk about games that couldn't make it out of the paper and how the company grew this years
I'm so glad to see Nintendo Power return in any form. I had been reading it ever since I was little with some earliest things I remember reading being a article about the original Animal Crossing and another one about Luigis Mansion. I was too young to experience Nintendo Power. Would be awesome to see them bring it back!
The timestamps are very much appreciated

what an amazing year
Awesome! I'm glad that the podcast is being posted on RUclips as well. It's the most convenient way for me to listen to it.
Solid first episode!
*Official Nintendo Seal Of Quality Indeed*
This is amazing not only is Nintendo Power back but we finally have a podcast all about Nintendo content.
Dang all platforms huh? Glad to see the push .

Wow it's back
My first Nintendo Power ever, and it’s revived in the best year Nintendo had in years. It was great listening to the podcast! Many more to come I hope!
Great use of the Nintendo Power name for this podcast! Woo-hoo! Many great memories of flipping through NP issues over the years. :)
I have got to say - WELCOME BACK! I always knew you guys would come back one way or another eventually. Who knew you guys would embrace current trends though? Here's hoping you guys are here to stay. Looking back, it's been 10 YEARS since I appeared in the magazine in July 2006s Community section... man that was fun. ;P
Can we get a Nintendo Power magazine?
Just write down what you hear, and print it on paper.
Very impressed by how open Nintendo was in this, not holding back for PR purposes, rather, just talking naturally about games in 2017 and employees' experiences :) very much enjoyed it
I just can't believe Nintendo Power is back :')
This was a great episode. Awesome to see Nintendo Power still alive and I hope to hear my interviews like this with that minds that create all the games we know and love from Nintendo.
I really want Nintendo power back
Thank you so much for bringing back Nintendo Power as a podcast. I just found this while looking up news on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Thank you again for reviving Nintendo Power in another form..."Now you're playing with power"
I wish they still had the magazine. It was awesome.
LOVED this episode. Probably one of the best interviews of the Zelda development team I’ve heard yet. 😊👍🏻
PLEASE make more!
Woah a podcast I’m actually interested in 👀👀👀👀👀
So awesome to see an official Nintendo podcast!
Holy wow! Its back!!
This is amazing!! I’m so happy that Nintendo Power is back in podcast form! I was a huge fan of Nintendo Power magazine back in the day! Thank you so much for bringing the brand back in a fun and positive way. You guys rock!!
Nintendo Should bring Back The Nintendo Power back!
Thank you so much for staring this Podcast! I loved the insights into the making of BOTW. The team is off to a great start. That being said, these are the meager suggestions I would make for the future success of the podcast as both a service to us Nintendo fans and future converts alike:
Please make it weekly!
Thank you.
GG. guess i'll *switch* between this and soundcloud whenever it uploads.
What you did there
*I see it*
Seeing this in my suggested videos was an awesome surprise. I really enjoyed this and I can't wait for more episodes
At least no mid roll ads are to be seen
Yeah, you're getting my sub JUST for being Nintendo Power. My GOD I miss that magazine...
I love you Nintendo
Flauby I'm even more
That ShovelKnight bit really warmed my heart. That game deserves to be remembered as foundly as Mega Man and Castlevania.
Yeah Nintendo power is too freaking awesome it should come back
Now your listening with power. I just love how Nintendo Power is now a podcast instead of a magazine. Its a cool concept.
Upload this to podcast apps
Good to see you guys back!
Greetings from Australia
NINTENDO POWER. I can now die happy.

NINTENDO POWERS BACK BABY
Glad to see the Nintendo Power name continuing in podcast form. That name means so much to an entire generation of gamers.
*WELCOME BACK NINTENDO POWER*
Nice surprise to see you guys bring back the "Nintendo Power" brand. I've never actually owned a copy of the magazine myself (having worked at Sega instead) but I definitely appreciate the respect this brand has.
11/10 golden idea.
This is awesome:) I am only 18 so I couldn't be with Nintendo power from the beginning but I was subscribed to the magazine for about a year until it was cancelled. So glad I can be here for the first ever Nintendo power podcast now!

It's great to see an 'official' revival of Nintendo Power! Admittedly, with the dominance of the Internet, the desire for a monthly magazine focused primarily on previews and reviews became rather moot.
Things I enjoyed:
1) The developer interview!
Things I didn't care for:
1) The "Switch over 2017" parts.
Things I'd like to see:
1) Any other elements that were in the original run of Nintendo Power! Sure, a lot of the staple preview/review/etc. meat and potatoes can be found elsewhere, even on this channel, and it'd be neat to see maybe a minute-long audio 'comic' in the spirit of Nester, or a mailbag response, or what have you.
2) Visuals! I look forward to seeing where this goes! :)
Is there going to be a Punch Out game for the Nintendo switch
