Greatest movie review podcast in the world. Y’all know we seen this movie 1000 times and they still brought new takes and perspectives that went beyond the humor in the film, which is hard to see past. Nerd level breakdowns. Keep flowing…
The guy falling down the stairs is Eddie's uncle..he's also one of the crew members on Harlem Nights. He was sitting next Robin Harris when Eddie fought Della
IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS IVE WATCHED NEARLY EVERY EP OF THIS SHOW AND ITS MADE ME REWATCH HELLA MOVIES AND LOOK AT THEM SOOOO DIFFERENTLY 🙌🙌 BIG UP BIGG JAH AND BIG TONE
Congrats on 50 episodes. Well deserved. This is one of the most quotable movies of all time. Fun Facts: F. Gary Gray & Vondie Curtis Hall were in this movie as well. The woman who said she worships the devil is the sister of the late Vanity. The late Madge Sinclair & John Amos were in Roots & Paul Bates & Shari Headley were also in The Preacher’s Wife. There was a Coming To America sitcom that aired that starred Paul Bates & Tommy Davidson. The pilot didn’t get picked up. Can we please get reviews on the following movies: Distinguish Gentleman The Drop Squad Rappin
No wonder why this movie(Coming to America) and Trading Places are my favorite films by Eddie Murphy. It was directed by the same guy. John Landis, who also directed Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and Remember the Time videos, which included both Michael and Eddie.
Coming to America is one of if not the greatest comedic films of our time. These brothers take on it just made it even better to me. BlackBusters is the best podcast out right now.
Congratulations on the 50th episode and c'mon we should never pause when saying "I love you bro" to another brother only weirdos would take it out of context 😂 just saying but when it comes to watching y'all review Coming To America "Im very happy to hear" 😅😂😂😂 and it was 40 days 😂😂😂
One of my favorite comedies of all times. Great listen! If I could have one piece of memorabilia I'd take akeem's rattail. That'll be 8 dollas! Also Carl Carlton had a sick curl
Tone is a breath of fresh air on this. Let's not act like the Prince of Zamunda was only sent to America to fuck around. And he needed Lisa to call him out on it on the subway because even though he did it for a great reason, everything he did almost made him LOSE HER, not the other way around. That lady didnt even know Wakanda existed and wouldve been okay not knowing. He was the one desperate to not live a loveless life. I love this movie because neither of them were playing a game at all!
Great scene and score. I know they had a lot to talk about, but they missed the chance to talk about how many marching bands had a Coming to America cadence in their repertoire and still do, “TO THIS DAY!”
Well now I’m conflicted. I think Jah was talking about Rebound and Tone (and me) THOUGHT he was talking about Drop Squad. Jah said that Lasalle was supporting in the film he was thinking of and that would line up better with Rebound.
The beauty about this movie is that the movie Trading Places is in the same universe.
Yup 😂 You caught that reference too

Fun fact. The woman in the club that said “I have a secret, I worship the devil” is Patricia Mathews older sister of singer Vanity.

The late great John Singleton directed the Remember The Time video!
@@Reefism You are absolutely correct! Another legendary director 🎬
Any John Landis movie, gotta look out for that “See You Next Wednesday” Easter 🐣 egg 🥚
@@sickofguysnamedtodd2293I remember it in Thriller. Where else did he use it?
@@avace917 John Landis uses it in just about everything he does. You just gotta look for it.
