Hello Sam and Sadie! I wanted to write to you that you were my first Christian RUclips couple I watched. You were such a breath of fresh air. I really wanted to get married and have babies, but the dating apps were atrocious. I could not find a real Christian to save my life. I watched this video and first heard of Holy here. I downloaded the app on November 12, 2023, the day this video was released. My husband and I matched on November 13. We had our first phone conversation on the 16th, and I immediately knew he was the one. We had our first date on the 18th and spent the holiday season courting. I got baptized at his church in February. We got engaged April 6th, and married May 11th.
I truly never thought I was going to get married. Thank you so much for what you do. This video truly blessed me.

It would be great if there was an app for just Christian friendship. Sometimes people would no doubt end up finding love,but it wouldn't be the pressure of a dating app.

I gave up on finding someone, I honestly think I want it too much, so that comes with package of overthinking, second-guessing, and so on.
I'll just focus on God and that's it, it's all I need.
It's would be nice of course to have your person for life that can help you, give you family and purpose to this life on earth, but in the end main purpose is to focus on Christ.

@@noahnoah-cb5yt That's very difficult to do and not realistic. Most people are the best versions of themselves when they're in their 40's or 50's. But it's better to get married as soon as possible because you won't build up this history of bad habits. I know what you're saying, you should be in a good place before searching for marriage, but as long as you're not living under a bridge shooting heroin everyday, you're good. Like, you can figure out life's problems as a team, waiting for the perfect moment is never gonna happen. A lot of good husbands got married when they had $5 in their bank account.
@@charlesbell5500 what is your definition of best version of yourself, who defines what best version of yourself is? Sometimes we don't realise that we are already perfect and enough because we are comparing with others or some kind of implied standards out there. Only the Word of God can tell you and bring you to the best version of yourself. I have been the best version of myself since I could remember, but someone looking on me would only see flaws and imperfections, but only God is my standard, I worked and moved making do with what I had at any moment, let go of controlling what I could not, but absolutely in control of what I could. The trick is to remember that we never stop learning in life and that every stage is a season. Champions need challenges, builders need the rocks.
@@giftij Yes, I agree and appreciate your comment. But in this case, the best version of yourself is when you're fulfilling your potential in every area of your life. You're making the most money you've made, you're happy with your marriage, etc. And then there's a dip as you get older and things start to decline. The best version of yourself is right there in the 35-55 range.
Downloaded dating apps after so many years but honestly felt my anxiety just became worse from seeing all those unread messages and also excessive swiping made me feel bad tbh
Eventually deleted all of them when I realised the unhealthy amount of time I spent on there when I don’t even know any of these people in real life

I absolutely agree w/ you ! I have tried dating apps in the past, before I got saved & it was never good. Now that I'm saved and walking in purity w/ the Lord, I am listening to the Holy Spirit and patiently waiting for my husband. I believe I will meet him in person, not off a dating app. God bless you ! Jesus is our first love & there's nothing like His love :)

I feel like the "friendship setting" is the setting for people who are "looking" but are trying to avoid the whole Christian "dating" "we-went-on-a-date-so-now--we-are-in-a-relationship" minefield.

Higher Bond is very similar to this, and if I recall correctly, there's a vetting process for any photos you upload. I had a hard time posting one picture of myself because there was a guy right behind me who was shirtless, so i had to crop it until all that was really left was my face. 😅

Dating Apps and websites can sometimes be so soul crushing, unless you have a pretty face, or profile photo.
Its tough and ghosting is common, even amongst "Christians"
Even with a pretty face is the same, believe me. I’m very sure that men looking for marriage aren’t considering women on dating apps. I used to be on them in 2019 and only met weird ones.

This helps me know what to say to my so. He has been talking about the idea of dating apps lately. He is 20 and we just moved across the country. He is an introvert and struggling pretty hard with meeting people. I do not want to give him bad advise.

I would rather meet my future husband off an app; but with that said I did try Upward last year and was appauled by the seedy creeps that I spoke with. I was so turned off, I didn't meet a single one and deleted the app within a week. I hope the Holy app's facial recognition will help mitigate this for their users. Perhaps I will try in the future.

I can't find the Holy App on Google app store
My thing is I live in an area that has very minimal options if any, nothing and no one im interested in and 3 hours or more away from any bigger town/city in all directions lol I am focusing on learning coding and developing my relationship with God. But I feel I am a bit stuck when it comes to this aspect of my life and feel like apps are the only option for my situation lol its very important for me to get to know someone as a friend before im comfortable going on dates. so I dunno. ive been single 10 years so whats another 10 I guess LOL ive kept that door closed for many years and hesitant to even crack it open at this point.

Ive tried dating apps for years. The longer i used them the more miserable and hopeless i became. Now i dont even try to date. Is holy that much different than all the others out there?

Jake stands a far better chance of meeting someone on that dating app than I do. First off, he's over 6' tall, which is what most women want. I'm only 5'8. Second, he is a lot more attractive than I am (or ever was). It is highly unlikely that I will ever get married or be in a dating relationship -- dating app or not.
Being a short woman, I can assure you gals like me feel very uncomfortable looking up into a guy’s nostrils, always feeling like a runt. It’s a deal-breaker. Height is one thing we can’t do much about-look to how well you treat your body.

Well it's not true. There isn't only one person, as a matter of fact, there isn't one person 100% fits your spectrum and prescription, but God can pull out a 100% anywhere anytime you are ready

Then just stay single for life and casually date many different women. No problem with that, but you'd have to abandon your faith. Whether you like it or not, God wants you to be married. He wants you to be a husband. So even when you don't think you can find a good girl for you, just remember that you are supposed to be a husband. It might not be your will, but it's His will, so there's nothing you can do. If you're not married, you're not fulfilling His will, at least in part. I'm 25 and I'm struggling, but I just know that I'm supposed to be a husband, so what am I gonna do? Well, by 35 I'm gonna start lowering my standards a bit and just settle with one because it's better to be married to an imperfect woman than to be alone waiting for the perfect woman. You can have a good conversation with a man, you can have fun with a man, with your friends. So if you can do that, that means sexuality is not necessary to have fun with your wife and really like someone. If my wife is ugly, so what? I'm not trying to find the hottest woman I can sleep with, I'm trying to find a life partner. My family has called me crazy for some of the girls that I brought home just because "she's too ugly" for me. So, if your wife is not a 22-year-old blond who loves to sit on your face everyday, don't worry. At least she knows your complete meal plan, takes care of you when you're sick, and laughs at your stupid jokes.

Yeah thugs are real problem round here in these parts that I move around in. They just kinda snirt and have hair all over. Ours have four legs, some I hear have three.. anyway, I was just minding my own business, tending to my penguins. Then bam! Thug just jumped right on me totally took me out of my job. I remember my ex girlfriend became Christian. She said it’s wonderful and brings people together. Then she breaks up with me cause I wasn’t Christian. The reality is that Christianity isn’t to put people together, it’s to separate people.
Read the New Testament to understand what Christianity is really about. It's first and foremost to put you (God's creation) and God together through Jesus Christ. As much as that breakup might have hurt, she did the right thing, and you should follow in her footsteps and follow Jesus. In my church, over 100 nationalities meet to worship God... you can't tell me it doesn't bring people together! May God bless you richly and reveal His love to you as the new year comes.
