Also thanks for dropping a comment on my review! Still very happy with it, still very glad I took the gamble. It also shows that a cheaper exhaust does not mean bad quality. Highly impressed by the quality welds > secure.flickr.com/photos/andyramdin/albums/72157714537601506/page2
Love my resonated Gravity exhaust in my R53, sounds so good not too loud but sounds nice when putting your foot down, and once it’s warm and bedded in it sounds awesome! Pops and crackles but not in your face loud! Highly recommended and half the price of some of the other brands!
They are cool little cars! Try to get latest model from this generation, the earlier models have some known issues. This is well documented in buying guides
@@NDPhotonl Oh thank you but I meant the exhaust. 😁 I’ve already got the car, a 2003 R53, and I love it, love the way it drives, so much fun. I’ve got a small problem with the heater (probably), the air it blows isn’t quite as hot as it’s supposed to be. But I love it and maybe I’ll even get a brand new JCW one day.
@@backseatcovers ah I misunderstood :) They are a lot of fun and the supercharger whine is very addictive. I have a supercharged v8 now (see the other videos on my channel), but it doesnt have the characteristic whine that the R53 has, which is a shame. It all adds to the character of the car
Ik i am late to the video but i currently have a non resonated hornet exhaust. Unbelievably loud and super droney on the motorways. How does something like this compare. Would you have any vidoes of it in the cabin?
@banz2693 Seems I missed your comment! This one was also became super boomey & droney. I made some adjustments to the car (extra soundproofing) and added a midsection resonator, but it was still very loud. In hindsight, I should've kept the original JCW catback which had a very good balance (and 0% drone).
Well you convinced me to get one for mine! Having it fitted at the end of the week. What other modifications have you done to yours? Mine is pretty standard and not sure whether or not to keep it that way!
Hi Luke, good to hear :) I don't have to many mods at the moment, Im currently working on improving reliability. You can see all my mods here > www.flickr.com/photos/andyramdin/albums/72157714537601506
Hoi/Hello ! I really like your video, sounds awesome. I've got 2 questions for you. If I'm right, you've a facelift model, did you encounter any difficulties while fitting the exhaust on the hangers, as prefacelift and facelift hangers are different? And last question, does it drone at 110-120-130km/h? Thanks for your answer, and great build (ive looked your whole flickr!)
Thanks a bunch Pierre! I appreciate you taking the time to check all pictures. No issues with fitment btw, the mufflers fit both the facelift/prefacelift (and yes, I have 2006 model). Also it drones quite severely between 120-130 (I have stock header with precat/cat). I was able to get this reduced with soundproofing and with a muffler instead of the resonator. Because my Flickr account is maxed out, I continued on my Google Photos account > photos.app.goo.gl/Kfzgx4JudNtPdGAj8 . Let me know if you have more questions!
To be honest, you need to be! The Mini is very prone to droning. If I would do it over again, I would just stay with the JCW catback and maybe look at another header and call it a day. But in the end, sound is very subjective. What could be acceptable for you, could but unmanageable for me (or vice versa).
I think its rebranded under different names. The difference is probably in the end tips. I didnt see any other similar catback with the carbon tips. Did you ask them btw? This is the ebay item: www.ebay.com/itm/121046676780
@@NDPhotonl they don't ship to the USA apparently... do you know of what other exhaust it could be, I could go without the tips I just really love the sound so I want that basically

Yep I saw it, but went with this one, purely for the carbon tips which I really wanted. Else I probably would've bought the Direnza (which is probably the same exhaust). This one is resonated, which I can highly recommend. Let me know if you have more questions. Also see my pictures here: www.flickr.com/photos/andyramdin/albums/72157714537601506

What’s it like on the motorway at 70mph?
The best exhaust system for r53
The tone was great, but I found it to be a bit too droney in the end. Its great value for money though!
