I own an R53 JCW, i know the turbo isn't as reliable due to people not knowing proper warm up warm down maintenance of turbos, therefore you WILL have problems. Have a '91 MR2 Turbo in which the engine has never been touched and runs perfectly. The mini is known for handling and power to weight ratio, not brute force power.

What a huge mistake from Renault to have underpowered that generation of Clio RS. It has a wonderful chassis that could easily handle 300HP. Both of you guys are very good drivers and have very nice cars :)

the MINI prob has around 230bhp and is stripped. look at the door panels. he should be faster in a straight line. but when you compare chassis. the MINI isn't as good.
The Clio is faster at close corners but the driver need more skills. Mini is more powerful from the Clio in the straight road and the driver is pilot. The co-driver is stupid.

I'll never understand the mini's appeal. The original I will always have a soft spot for but this thing is just bizarre. I've come against them on track and I've driven friends and I just don't get it. What is the appeal? Even if you overtake someone on a track or on the road you still get laughed at. Renaults are hated but new Mini's regardless of how fast they get will always be a joke. No one runs up to talk to a mini owner in a paddock apart from other mini owners. It's all very odd.

hmm what can i say. clio have aspirated engine and is very light weight car with great turn. This is what mini with turbo don't have it and you can just win with shit driver tho :) But i like it for looks and finishing tools

+ATLcameron Jcw has 211hp compared to the cooper s which has around 172.

I don't know if the Mini is powered, but for sure the Clio chassis is more racing. In the mid-fast corners is surely better as in the lines change...
