That is one of the best looking builds I have ever seen. Car looks so clean and it’s rapid
Timing chains issue were pre 2014, r56 era with the n14 engine along with high pressure fuel pumps and engines needing a "decoke" with carbon build up, these f56 models are all very good regardless of the car being petrol or diesel very nice bit of kit

F56 diesel has known swirl flap problem
@@eveythingthatsadam every diesel has problems with that sort of thing, my 3.0 tdi had jumpy rpm at idle and the intake, swirl flaps etc were all caked up with soot which was causing the issue
So does that mean this engine doesn't have a high pressure fuel pump?
I had pre 2014 JCW and Jesus it broke my heart with timing chain issues. Cost me just as much in maintenance in time I own it as buying the car itself

Had my head set on a Mk7.5 golf r couple of years back. Being in my 40s I feel I should have gone for a 335d tourer, ended up with an auto f56 JCW in the end though! Almost same bhp / tonne ratio as golf but mini is so much more fun. Nearly two years on I'm tempted to tune, concerned though as Mulgari suggest engine mounts need replacing even for a slight increase to 275bhp. Not sure if that's really necessary...
I’ve had my stage 2 tune a year now, no issues at all with mounts etc. I find mulgari are over priced and under deliver on their tunes also and products. Better off going to evolve or a reeve or derv tech etc for the tune
I've got the DervTech stage 1 on my '19 f56 JCW with manual, no issues with mounts (although I did read on NAM that some people did have issues with them even on stock cars but it's relatively easy/cheap to fix)...love the tune and love the car, loads of fun (and I came from dual pulley stage 2 b8 Audi S4, love the Mini more). Good luck with yours.

If so, your insight is much appreciated. So I just done DP, full exhaust (jcw pro kit), K&N filter and FMIC. I will like to connect my Dinan Elite tuner. However CEL just came on. Can I tune that CEL out and hook my Dinan Elite box UP?

I am an owner of a F56 Jcw aswell and I can definitely back up the claims in this video...such Fantastic car! And the Dual AG spoiler on the rear end looks Savage!
Are these newer ones more reliable?
@@ilijapetrovic1215 I have only owned the f56 for just under a year, and done around 5000 miles but in my experience they are very very low maintenance. I also have a R53 car that is tuned to the moon and that is a lot less reliable. So the short is answer is most definitely yes! Such a great car😁
The dual ag rear diffuser looks beautiful as well , you should check it out ! I can see when I get this car that I'm gonna be spending more in body kits than the car itself 😭😭😭 they also do a really agreesive front diffuser that blends really well :)

What I want to know is, will it always downshift on demand? Some paddle shift-equipped cars won't; they 'nanny you'. Its important for shifting the weight forward into bends, for maximum traction.

I'm not a huge fan of autos, but I had a loaner from the dealer with the 7-speed DCT and was absolutely giggling over how snappy the shifts were. If you hold the downshift paddle, it will shift down into the lowest possible gear available 🚀

@@jammyers2112 it's got a faster 0-60, 0-100 and pretty much everything. I believe the countryman JCW would be a better choice due to its AWD drivetrain. But,
@@aarongrisham5555 because the Yaris was built for that one purpose. Completely different shell, engine, build. A 0-60 time is irrelevant. Speed doesn't make a good car. Else we wouldn't even look at Mini's. You'd just go buy a VW and map it up as the F56 sit around the same price as a Mk7 Golf R. GP3 was literally just adding a few extra bits from a JCW. I suggest reading up about the Yaris and see what they actually went through to build that car.
What sort of power can the manual handle ?
Trying to find this out. And the motors limits on power. Hard to find anything. Looking at a 2017 jcw and before I buy it I want to make sure it isn't limited to 300whp or something like that.

I just got an F56 at the end of February, having problems locating the smoked out look of the headlight, taillight & rear fog lights like on the JCW you drive in the video. Any links?

Probably sound dumb here but how do you know if it’s a F56 edition?
If you compare it with some pics of r56 you can see the differences in interior and exterior, they do look similar at first but once you start looking for details it becomes evident, especially when you look inside

Those BMW 1.6 engines are decent tbf. I really don't like the seats though, it's a top of the range model with cheap non sporty seats.
😂😂 it’s a 2 litre car and they are definitely not cheap seats! top of the range seats in fact! Just because they’re not bucket Seats doesn’t mean they’re cheap 🙈😂
R53/56 are the ones with 1.6 the F56 comes with the B48 2.0L engine, very good all round.
I have those leather seats in my 2.0 litre B48 2019 JCW, they are a very expensive comfortable option.
The seats are a pricy option and are still sporty (albeit a little less so than the standard jcw recaros)
