    Protein C : anticoagulant
C-RP: acute phase reactant, an inflammatory marker
C-peptide: indicator of breaking down of proinsulin to insulin

Don't forget to answer these questions for me:
    1) What's the name of the enzyme that's involved in vitamin K- dependent gamma carboxylation of the coagulation factors?
    2) What's the difference among:
    a- Protein C
    b- C-reactive protein (CRP)
    c- C-peptide.
    Thanks a ton!

Protein C - Not Sure exactly, think there was something about it in this video.
CRP - Acute Phase Reactant, stimulates the complement system.
C-Peptide - Is the bit that gets broken off of Pro Insulin when it's converted into Insulin. It has a much longer half-life than insulin, and is, therefore, a more reliable marker and should be used instead of insulin as it will show developing problems earlier than insulin.

anyone know why you require antiplatelets (clopidogrel) for arterial thrombosis and anticoagulants for venous based thrombosis cos i cant figure it out

    • @suzbarak
      @suzbarak 5 лет назад

joseph damun i think bec in arterial thrombosis there is no trauma and no platelet adhesion to sub endothelial collagen and no aggregation and no secondary hemostasis only the platelets are causing thrombosis

After that early publication, the efficacy and safety of drotrecogin alfa were widely debated. Drotrecogin alfa was withdrawn from the worldwide market on October 25, 2011, after analysis of the PROWESS-SHOCK clinical trial, in which the drug failed to demonstrate a statistically significant reduction in 28-day all-cause mortality in patients with severe sepsis and septic shock. [25] Trial results observed a 28-day all-cause mortality of 26.4% in patients treated with drotrecogin alfa, compared with 24.2% in the placebo group.

Hello. I'm not a student. I'm a patient in need of help and information. Thank you for your video. I hope you'll read my comment and I hope my english level will be enough to explain my problem.
I have a Protein S defficit. It's around 16%. My father has it also - he doesn't have Protein S at all.
I have an event of thrombosis in 2017 and since then I'm taking Xarelto 20mg, now trying to swich to Eliquis but it seems like I need to high of a dose - 2 x 10mg and I've been told that there are no research for such a high dose for a long periods of time. All doses and info mentioned are after test and medical consultations, not my own interpretation.
I've been adviesed to not have more children because they will have my problem. I have one kid at the age of 3 and today I have been also told that it's not common to do a therapy for a child before any event of thrombosis has occured... My father and I both almost lost our lives at around 20 because of event of thrombosis. And now at the age of 53 he has lost the ability to talk and a lot of his life quality because of a new event.
So... I need a reccomendation for a specialist who would talk with me. It seems that I have seen the best ones in my country Bulgaria but I need more because... well, I just want to have a normal quality of life for me and my child.
PS I'm 29, 5 foot 5, 115 lbs, very active, sporty, drinking a lot of water, non smoker etc... Just this damn protein S.
