Just got diagnosed. My dad and brother and several uncles all have it and have had clots and I’m 31 years old and just had my first clot. 3 clots in my leg and now two small ones in my lungs. So now I’m on blood thinner for the rest of my life. Hooray!

This video is absolutely amazing. It connects and explains so many different medical specialties. It is great to finally understand the mechanisms of things happening. You made me smarter again, thanks so much!
I have protein S deficiency. My very first episode was in 2009. I was pregnant at the time. They assumed pregnancy triggered my clot but more testing revealed my deficiency. I’ve been on blood thinners ever since. It’s depressing at times. I’ve been on 3 different blood thinners. I’m currently on Xarelto.
What was the protein S level in your first trimester pregnancy( about 7 weeks ) ? What is the normal level of protein S in the first trimester of pregnancy?I had a normal blood test and the protein S level was 94% before pregnancy,,,and ( it was 55% in the first trimester of pregnancy! )So i’m so confused !Although the level of protein S during pregnancy decreases a lot, those who have normal protein S levels are also!

Wow months ago I had clots throughout my lungs and in my heart. I had to have open heart surgery. I just got tested and found out that I lack the protein s so this explains it.
Seems like there could be a better treatment than blood thinners.. Now that I'm on a blood thinner my skin seems like it never heals when I get a scratch or something
