    "..wine tasting teaches you about yourself..." I like that. I can hear those words coming out of Miles Raymond. It's both inspiring and humbling. As you learn more about yourself, while you are being transported by the wine.

    I used this last weekend doing wine tasting in Oregon and I loved it! It made tasting wine more of a game vs. just drinking. The only bad thing is that I seldom write by hand these days so my notes are super messy and my hand started cramping up! I'm looking forward to opening up the bottles I bought and comparing notes between the bottle and original tasting!

    Wow, after only a few days and after taste testing a few bottles, I believe I can spot the different between my kit 2016 Cabernet Sauvingnon corked with #9's and my kit 2016 Merlot corked with #7's (mistake, but not a loss). Waiting for the arrival of Master Guide and Journal - You've made me a very happy wine lover. The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades. Thank you, thank you.

    I've been working on an app to help me with wine journaling and it's always useful to see how the pros do it.

    So that's how the pros do it! You must have been very proud to have won that wine tasting. I like to review wines, but I'm a rank amateur compared to you. You must be a very disciplined person.

    One tip I was taught in tasting classes: if you're evaluating more than one wine, "nose" each one separately, take notes, *then* sip. Once ya start sipping, you can't smell subtle aromas.

    • @Winefolly
      @Winefolly  4 года назад +4

      This def works for classes when you have a limited number of wines but not really for big wine tastings and seminars.

    ever think about a version for the computer...my handwriting is atrocious...(I have essential tremors in my left hand which is super cool for a lefty)..I manage every other way with the exception of handwriting...a downloadable version of the journal would be kick ass....

    I love wine. I love the taste of wine. My problem is... The wines I like are big full body and chewy. I want to sink my teeth into a glass. I can't seem to smell or taste those flavors that I hear about. What am I doing wrong?

    Make it a mobile app!

    • @calisthenicschicken8812
      @calisthenicschicken8812 4 года назад

      Building an app cost thousand.

    • @jeffg360
      @jeffg360 4 года назад +1

      Calisthenics Chicken lol...no it doesn’t! Regardless you sell it and make money. I’m not going to carry a book around worse a book that can easily be lost along with all your notes. An app can be backed up. I use a really nice database I created in FileMaker Pro it’s not difficult!

    • @calisthenicschicken8812
      @calisthenicschicken8812 4 года назад

      U do know that u need a software developer right? And they charge thousands.

    • @jeffg360
      @jeffg360 4 года назад

      Yes...it’s what I used to do for a living. Today I’m the director of product management for mobile at a fortune 5 company. But hey... if you find a VERY simple app like this, and willing to pay me thousands, send them my way! That said you continue to not address the ability to make money on the app through in-app purchases or value add. Either of which will not only pay for your dev costs but also drive incremental sales. The bigger problem is there are many apps already out there so again tell me why I’m carrying a book?

    • @calisthenicschicken8812
      @calisthenicschicken8812 4 года назад

      Well, why don't u just make the app then?

    What the hell are schist rocks?

    • @Winefolly
      @Winefolly  Год назад +1

      Here's an example! pbs.twimg.com/media/EbL-CktWAAAC6qr.jpg
      "Schist is a medium grade metamorphic rock with medium to large, flat, sheet like grains in a preferred orientation" AKA They're super flaky! And vines can bust through them. We say a wine tastes "schisty" when it has a lot of minerality.
