- Follow me on a journey throughout one of the most vile and off-the-beaten-path metal subgenres throughout its history! From medical pathology to tin can snares, pitch-shifted vocals and things that would smack people on a watch list somewhere, let's talk about this fun, tongue-in-cheek genre, which oftentimes gets a hard rep!!!!!!!
What are your thoughts of this subgenre and why?

Welcome back to a new Rough Guide! In this one, I go over one of the most extreme and underground metal subgenres that has QUITE the reputation: Goregrind! What're your opinions of this subgenre and why?! Be sure to let me know down below, I can't wait to hear it!!!!!!! But for now, cheers, rock on, stay heavy and have yourselves a fantastic rest of your day or night, depending on when you see this!!!!!!!
Carcass was my gateway band to extreme metal when I was 13. I still have my original copy 22 years later. Changed my life.
That is SUCH a great band to start with, my lord!
Agreed. Never heard them, then saw them live for Symphonies. Changed EVERYTHING...
already giving a giant thumbs up for having the country medical examiners in the thumbnail.
Hell yeah! One of my favorite goregrind bands period! Would love to collect some of their stuff, but some of it can be pretty jacked lol
@@TheMetalTempestYTyea. still hoping someone someday uploads their 1st record.
grindcore is such a fun rabbit hole. I'm well aware of it, and have listened to a few tracks, but I have yet to regularly listen to it (or any brutal metal at all, as I'm starting to do that now). pornorgrind, mincecore, vomitcore, gorenoise.... there's too many at this point!
My extreme journey started with Tomb of the Mutilated, now I’m on the journey to find the most unlistenable noise that could be tentatively called “music”
Thank you for this wonderful video 😊.
This type of music is why of don’t like soft pop stuff calling its self metal lol . Because grind is way more metal.
Aw, thank you so much. Much appreciated :)
Yeah, when you start getting into the underbelly, stuff gets weird! I'm excited to tackle more niche genres in this series! Gotta balance out the more known ones :)
@@TheMetalTempestYT awesome ☺️.
goregrind is so commercial.. i much rather gorenoise
I've been getting into goregrind more n more. I do agree that it's meant to be tongue n cheek until u get stuff like a certain Deterioration album that go way too far for me personally. I only want the covers to involve adults n when the gore doesn't it's fucked up in my opinion. It's one of those things I try to avoid in goregrind and sours the tongue n cheek aspects of the genre for me.
N yea when I say stuff that doesn't involve adults I mean gore involving uhhhhh people who aren't old lets keep it at that
Again I fucking hate the 2022 Deterioration album for this exact reason
